The thing with the smaller enemies having the same mechanic as the monster you're hunting is a game design tactic to prepare you for the battle.
It's like a natural way to make a tutorial. Have a lower stakes punishment for doing the thing before a boss.
Of course that assumes the player is willing to learn lessons from the game they are playing. Evan is not always that kind of person.

@@_Lis25 Yes but you need the informant. I wasn't aware of that until I looked it up. Thought the informant would just be "useful" and not "something you should actually engage with to get new stuff".

So far, new friend always means new archetype. Only the lowly non-face quest givers deny you archetypes.

This boss teaches you the importance of the guard and synthesis mechanics. On higher difficulties, the fight may seem impossible at first without preparation.

i don't know if you realized but when returning from the Guptauros boss and moving on from the goborns, you actually walked past another flying blue thing like the one you couldn't catch before ^^u

More Brigitta content is always welcome.
The followers are available everyday, there might be a cooldown of a day or 2 after ranking up but the only roadblocks are social stat barriers and something else that comes into play later.
46:44 The difficulty with good punny names (such as this) is that an observer (such as I) can miss them until someone else points it out.
In other news I missed the fact this thing gets knocked out of its charge attack when hit with piercing. So I had to slog through this fight. It was brutal and I used all my stock of Balm of Life.

What a tongue twister of a title!
Hard mode can get pretty intense, for sure. The mage has a passive skill that regains 1 MP for the entire party every time you kill a weak overworld enemy, or stun a strong one. On any other difficulty, you could play the entire game without noticing this was a thing... on hard mode? It's the ONLY reason I'm ever able to clear a dungeon in a timely manner. 🤣
