What a fantastic tutorial. Straight to the point and easy to follow. I'm new the the edgetx world and i thought this was going to take ages to sort out. But thanks to you it took about 10 minutes. Thank you. The only problem I have now is finding a lipo voltage sensor, there doesn't seem to be any in Australia.
Thanks Andy, always something new to learn in this hobby... It's great! Wife does not think so thought 😂
Haha, your wife is too smart
Thank you Andrew, this was very useful to configure a Multiplex Heron equipped with a new ER8GV. A few differences with my Boxer but I could find my way through it. As always, an interesting content, well presented and very clear.
Excellent. Glad you could interpret it for your gear
Perfect - just what I was looking for, thanks Mr Newton.
You are welcome!
Most excellent, thank you.
Most welcome
Thank you very much, from Barcelona. A very enlightening video for programming
Greetings Barcelona!
Thanks for making this all so simple! Another great video.
ótima explicação Configuração do sensor é do Vario e LiPo RadioMaster TX16S ( great explanation Sensor configuration is from Vario and LiPo RadioMaster TX16S ) 💯👍
obrigado
Excellent... Thanks Andrew
You are a champ Andrew. Thanks a million!
Hi Andrew, is it possible to have the vario setup using a FC as the Matek 743 WLTE? I can’t find the Vspeed value in my telemetry.
Should be possible but I don't have that FC.
Andrew I am trying to setup flight battery on a Jumper t18. In the list of values I have no cells only A3. Batt gives t/x bat voltage, rxbat gives the voltage to the r/x.On using A3 setting a 3s battery reads out at 15v and a 4s 20 volts. The r/x is a GRX8 and the voltage sensor is a simple plug in unit (vs1 or something like that). I have always found your videos very helpful in the past . Thank you.
Don't know that sensor. Does it connect to the AIN2?
Yes it is connected to AIN2 port and sensor is FBVS (I found the number).
@@robertmillhouse6388 Ok, you probably have to calibrate it to match the actual voltage. Click on the item in the telemetry page and you should see something like gain or range and offset. Play with them until you get the right voltage.
This chap shows how th-cam.com/video/GITqzUeJMQI/w-d-xo.html
Oh man, I've been meaning to ask you how you do this! Thanks for making this video!
Excellent, you do have to know where to find the Vario set up
How About adding the cells value and cell value to the line on top of the screen? I sold my old Taranis and my new Radiomaster TX16S is on the way
Friend could you make a video mixing with the flaps and elevated I have a radio of those and I don't know how to mix and flaperons with ailerons etc. Thank you explaining how it's funny
Check out my OpenTX playlist
Oky friend thank you very much blessings
Thanks i had this doubt. Sir can we use jumper r8 receiver with voltage sensor? Is this possible?
No. it's only FrSKY receivers
Jumper R8 only receive telemetry directly from the flight controller. Technically you can switch to use Smartport but it requires extensive hardware modification and flashing firmware
Thank you, it all works perfect on my Taranis xe9 tx. Enjoy your channel 👍🏻
Hey Andrew just to clarify you need 2 batteries right, one for the telemetry and the other for the RX? Thanks mate
No, just one battery for everything
Awesome, one of the best TX16S tutorial !!! Thank You 😃
Thanks Sebastien
Do the sensors work with the Radiomaster R168 reciever? Thanks for the Video!
Yes, normal S-Port telemetry
@@AndrewNewton great! Thanks mate for the quick answer.
Andrex, I really enjoy each of your videos, they are very easy to follow and practical. Keep at the edge. By the way, being a flyer who comes from Futaba into Open Tx and Radio Master TX16S, what would be your recommendation to buy new receivers and flight controllers (best cost-benefit), to be used in planes and helis, and in preparation to advance to FPV with planes? Regards
My most common are FRSKY RX6R receiver and Matek F405 Wing FCB.
@@AndrewNewton Ok, let's go shopping!!!
@@AndrewNewton Andrew, thank you. I am worry about F405 becoming obsolete in the near future. Would it be better a seven hundred series? Regards
The word from the INAV devs is that F405 will last for a few more years, and longer than F722
@@AndrewNewton What about the new H743, is it worth investing in it?
Does the Jumper R8 rx work for the lipo sensor? Thanks for the vid mate
No, Rx needs S-Port capability to connect it.
Andrew Newton thanks for the reply 👍🏻is it possible to use a Frsky R-XSR Rx some how?
Andrew Newton R-SXR works with lipo sensor 👍🏻
Thanks for making this video. This has been so helpful to me. Now I've just gotto wait for my TX16S to arrive off the slow boat from China 😉 lol
Oh the waiting! Frustrating
Cool vid as always. Simple. Ty.
No problem 👍
Can you get a graphical representation of the Variometer on the screen?
Not in basic OTX but there will be a Lua script that does that
I thougt that you could see all the individual cells (or at least the lowest/highest value of the cells)not just the total cell voltage.I have the Smart Port Mini Lipo Voltage Sensor and I also just you only get the total voltage.
Individual cells or lowest cell is available. Have to "add new sensor" then scroll through the choices.
@@AndrewNewton Ok I will look at it.Thanks for reply!
You want "cell" as that will give you the voltage of the lowest cell in the pack.
Superb Cheers 👍👍
Thanks ✌️
Such a pretty screen on that Radio....I'm still resisting, just.
I prefer the monochrome version of OTX
@@AndrewNewton You're the Henry Ford of interface designers... "You can have it in any color you want as long as it's black"... lol. Personally, I like the pretty colors on my TX16S.
@@jasonhurdlow6607 Haha, shows I'm getting old.
That variometer uses some air pressure sensor I guess. (not GPS)
Yes, barometer. More accurate than GPS (non military)
My radiomaster arrived today, the gimbal one this time cause the cheaper one came first.
I have the same configuration with that frsky receiver and frsky variometer the only pieces I held in stock from my frsky inventory since they attacked Jumper 1 year ago so that all their Jumper T16 disappeared here from the shops and shelves on july 1st.
But I did not sell the variometer and receiver ... and now I have to bind them for my glider the Phoenix ASW 28 or maybe the Phoenix ranger. But unfortunatelly the real summer has arrived after a wet may and june and now it is really hot - for us
Over 32° C several days in a row and night temperatures above 20°C are pretty rare in northern germany ... while that might be average winter temperature in australia.
Oh no that's to hot for comfort even here, I am in southern Aus where it's cooler. Amazing run of heat over your way.
