    Sitting squarely in the modern mid-travel trail bike segment is the new YT Jeffsy Uncaged 8. With 150 millimeters of travel front and rear, this iteration of the Jeffsy line provides a firm suspension platform to pump against while still being capable enough to eat up trail chunk. Every time I took out this little trail bike I found myself smiling as I blasted out of the tight, supported corners synonymous with our local mountain here in Bellingham, Washington.

    Super impressed this guy gave a pretty decent depthy review whilst absolutely bombing down this trail, I own a Jeffsy core 3 and although I don’t have the insane spec of this bike he’s riding, I still love people giving props to the Jeffsy! Great video 🤟🏼

    I literally get nervous watching your videos lol. Doing manuals and jumps straight at a tree and then turn at the last second. Full speed through the forest with trees right at the edge of the bars. And just casually talking while bombing full speed through it all. Mind blowing.

    I have a Jeffsy it's awesome. It's my daily driver for local chunk ridden it on flow trails and in the bike park(only once) Downieville as well. Lives up to being an all mountain bike. Capable on the downs but also efficient enough to get you around the park and up the climbs.

    I'm currently having Jeffsy Core 3 for a year. Great bike!
    Working incredibly well on my local trails, and survived 7 days bike park trip.
    Very stable and poppy, HTA works well for me.

    The Jeffsy is a quiver killer of a bike. Even with that steeper hta, it's a bike I'm not afraid to take down the steeper gnarlier stuff.

      I tested the top of the line Jeffsey this summer at the lake trails in Whistler. The Jeffsey I tried had AXS along with the Flight Attendant Rockshox. My impressions on the bike were tainted because I rode the Canyon Strive before it on the exact same trails. The Canyon was head and shoulders better in every category for me. It climbed better and descended better in both tech and wide open. The Strive model I rode was also just over half the price. I have rode two YT's this summer and, although both were decent, there were far better options in their categories and at the price.

    • @rrolleman4879
      @rrolleman4879 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andrerichard628 Sorry, I meant the Spectral. If you had no other options, the Jeffsey would be great. But people do. And compared to the Spectral it wasn't even close. The YT felt like it had less travel than it did (incidentally, so did their ebike I rode two weeks prior), and climbing was underwhelming on the really steep grades. I was especially surprised at how much better the Spectral climbed.

    • @TypicalGuy84
      @TypicalGuy84 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont know how you got the bike spec, but the jeffsy core 2 I bought was $2100 before tax. Had a few discounts going and the Spectura was $2300.
      Maybe you should check your math again 😅

    I have a 2020 jeffsy pro with all the goodies. Best improvements i made were carbon hoops i9 hubs and fox factory suspension with a 36 160 and oh my… i take it on 20 mile single track rides and also ride lift bike park days. It handles everything i throw at it with a smile. I also hold a couple KOM’s on my local trails that consist of some super heavy pedal sections with a mix of dh in there as well. Just go buy one!

    I've had a Jeffsy for almost 2 years. They're sick bikes, agile/pedally enough for the local trails, gnarly enough for bike parks. People complain about the head angle, but I think it's perfect for this kind of bike, it really helps the agility and pairs well with the short-ish chainstay. And yeah it's super poppy, I'd love to try it with that Cane Creek shock, it sounds pretty sweet. I found it a bit too unsettled in the chunkiest rock gardens, but otherwise there are few flaws. Maybe a touch too progressive/stiff for a lighter rider. I'd like to try it with a coil.

    • @rrolleman4879

      had a 2019 CF Pro Race that I put a DHX2 Factory on. Fun trail bike but definitely felt undergunned in steep/rough terrain or the bike park. Currently have a 2022 Transition Patrol with Fox Factory/XT and it's light year ahead for that kind of terrain... but it is 5lbs heavier!

    • @andrerichard628

      @@rrolleman4879 why a different bike?

    • @rrolleman4879
      @rrolleman4879 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andrerichard628 the performance that he's trying to get will be pretty difficult to get from his bike. I would bet It's more of a geometry issue, than a suspension one. I tried chasing stability on my old Norco Sight by switching components up, and although I was moderately successful, a different size/frame would've been better.

  • @stardustgirl1061
    @stardustgirl1061 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I like watching the riding in these reviews but the one thing that is missing is how a bike stacks up to other bikes. If I’m watching a review to try and make a purchasing decision, I want to know how it compares to what’s out there. I’ve owned a Jeffsy and it’s not a bike I would recommend to anyone. It climbs worse than most bikes and the rear progression is so high that it makes having rear suspension pointless. A viewer wouldn’t know this from watching this review.

      @johnsospencer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Caed, I'm very familiar with the Evo as I've owned one for almost 3 years. They are worlds apart. The Jeffsy is far more agile and better at pumping. The EVO is an incredible do it all bike that caters more towards gravity and high speeds with its more linear suspension curve, longer chainstay, and super slack head tube angle options. The Jeffsy is better for lower angle pumpy trails and the EVO is better for steeps and high speeds. I also think the Jeffsy is a more efficient pedaling bike.

      I currently own both bikes My Jeffsy is the 27.5 alloy core 2 and my Stumpy Evo is carbon. The Stumpy definitely climbs better between both bikes but that could be because it's 3 to 4lbs lighter and 29er.
