    Rad video. Currently ride a 2022 Giant Stance 29er with 120/130 travel and it's just enough bike for the trails near me in northern California even with some upgraded parts I'm pushing the limits of what the bike can do. I'm Looking into buying a YT Capra or a Canyon torque in November.

    I've got a izzo with pikes at the moment, running nobby nic on the back and a merry up front. It's set more on the heavy side of trail and is perfect for uk riding but raced it in a alpine eduro race where it out rode bigger bikes.

    Love Mr. Toad’s! For a quick ride where I don’t want to climb Rosewood and traverse over to Space Mountain, I’ll do Mr. Toad’s loop 3-4 times. Great review!

    a little late but where did you get the decals?

    If I'm not mistaken, the YT puts a 5'10" person right in the middle of a size large. Might I ask why you chose medium? I am also 5'10" and unfortunately they are out of large and have to choose between Medium and XL. I have the XL ordered, with the Medium available to swap out and need to make the final decision ASAP.

    • @CaptGoodJob
      @CaptGoodJob  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want downhill speed and confidence, size XL. For climbing and tricks and sportiness, M. What is your inseam?

    • @jerrys.1709
      @jerrys.1709 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My inseam is 32".
      The numbers look like they'd work on the medium. YT was pretty adamant that a medium would be "extraordinarily small" but the geo looks bigger than the Pivot Mach 429 Trail I just sold. So I was really 2nd guessing. But hey, you look like you're having fun on a Medium.

    • @CaptGoodJob
      @CaptGoodJob  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I really am. I have a medium Izzo, Capra, and Jeffsey. They all fit me great. If you are around LA, you can come try them out.

      @@CaptGoodJob What's your inseam & height please? I tried a well cared for used Capra 27 Al Comp (2017) in size L(arge) & I liked the feel & fit.
      My inseam is 30"+, yet I am only 5' 7" tall.
      Am I making a mistake?
      The total stack & reach geometry numbers seems very close to my gravel bike.

    • @CaptGoodJob
      @CaptGoodJob  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I prefer the feel of a 445-455 reach. I feel faster on a smaller bike rather than a larger bike. XL has me way too stretched out. I can ride a large but I am faster on a medium. I’m 5’10”, 32 inch inseam.
      Most new riders seem to be on bikes that are too big for them. Most of the people I ace with are on bikes based on reach and stack height instead of sizing. Note that YT said last year the Medium Capra was up to 5’10”. Now they say the exact same bike is up to 5’7”. It is just industry marketing. Go with whatever makes you feel good. In the end, you will adapt to either. Smaller means better maneuverability. Larger means better at high speed like the bike park.

    I expect the Izzo. Cus most ppl in the US massively overbike themselves

    • @CaptGoodJob
      @CaptGoodJob  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, there may be something to that. Here in SoCal, I enjoy the Izzo but it meats me up to ride it on our rough, gnarly downhills. I usually go to my Capra for 90% of rides. My son did do a downhill race on the Izzo to prove the point that it can be done though.
