I can safely say Wendy has Power, Range, Control and Dynamics. Wendy has control since she could change her vocal texture according to the feel of the song, Sunny Side Up, Butterflies, Sassy Me. Being influenced heavily by Jessie J and being R&B as her primary genre, she shows control through her melisma, runs and riffs.

That's Rose's real voice, Rose's fake voice is when she sang GD's "Without You" which was released in 2012. Rose's name was also not included, YG just wrote "Without You - GD ft. ??? (which means YG trainees )". In that song Rose deliberately lowered her voice so no one couldn't be known who the original singer was. And why do I know all that? Because I've been a YGStan since 7 years ago (longer than BP's debut) ...
And, if that was her fake voice, I think she should be exhausted and the tone of her voice would definitely change (how can I know? Because I'm a singer too)

Jihyo did not train for ~10 years to be skipped over. Her voice can be so powerful and it should be recognized! Also, as a reveluv, blink, and once: 1. Wendy (SM has best vocalists) 2. SM Entertainment trains their artist for year/years that's why they have the best vocal artist in their company.. I'm a ReVeluv and Seulgi biased.. SME holds almost major of vocal artist in their entertainment, oh and also those goddamn visuals and dancing.. although SM is kinda like "shitty" company, let's admit that they trained their artist really well, especially for those who trained in a year upto 7 to 8 years with different kinds of aspect regarding singing, dancing and even acting as well..
I agree with your statements, but using Wendy as an example of SM's ability to train idol vocals is kinda wrong. A more appropriate example would be to compare SM's average vocal level, for instance how Irene and Yeri are significantly better in vocals than their counterparts outside. Artists like Seulgi require some innate vocal talent which is rare in kpop, and for Wendy's case, SM simply lucked out with her. Girl's raw talent is like a half polished diamond to begin with, its alot more to do with her having such a high innate vocal potential which can be easily brought out with SM's training program.

i feel like jihyo’s voice is by far the most unique in this group of main vocalists but either way wendy (B+) and jihyo (C+) are definitely good vocalists rosé is a bit behind them (D) but she does a lot of stylistic choices that i find very beautiful

No doubt, Wendy wins. Not only she has a beautiful voice, she's also versatile and has wide vocal range. She's the reason why Red Velvet can explore a lot of genres. PLUS SHE'S THE MOST STABLE out of the three. She's the epitome of MAIN VOCAL. Very dependable and can carry the whole group.
I don't think Wendy is that stable? I mean based on what I've seen. She has a hard time singing on performances. No doubt she has a phenomenal voice, but stability is another question.
Idk when I watch the 3 of them perform while dancing, Jihyo had the most impressive stability so far, check out the vid of her singing fancy backstage in the preparation room. Second would be Wendy then Rose. But maybe I havent seen enough yet.

because it's really hard to dance while singing esp when the part of your singing has some high notes and the dance steps are kinda hard and hyper. she sounds better when she only sings not dancing. her solo "let it be" was so good her voice was also stable.
She does not use the same vocal tone. And you can very clearly hear less strain in her pre debut vocals. She used to use a pretty ok chest voice and a comfortable range. But nowadays all she uses is super nasal high pitched head voice and that is NOT healthy. I don’t think its her fake voice I just think she is straining and reaching farther than what is comfortable for her her vocal range. It does not appear she has been taught or trained on how to safely use her head voice or to use a chest voice to belt her high notes. If she keeps singing this way she will end up damaging her voice which is sad, because she does have a lovely voice.
Is she doing some high notes as if its not a problem in psycho? I wanna know if its considered a high note cuz that the part that says something seoljige(?) is my fav part of the song. It sounds like its very easy for her. My range is so small that i hv to make it about 1 octave lower to sing it. I mean literally. I took piano class and we also learn about octaves and stuff but i quit.
Anonymous User for Sopranos, anything above Bb4 could be considered high note. As for Psycho, apart from the G5s in the adlibs and pre chorus, she stayed relatively within her supported range. I don’t remember the exact notes but I believe the part you mentioned are in the 4th octave.

Exactly. For me, Rosé is the best but I don't go around saying that as a Wendy/Jihyo bias, Rosé is on another level. All of them worked hard to be where they are and are definitely above average vocalists. It all comes down to personal preference on who's the best.

You can definitely prefer the other two vocalists, but vocal pedagogy is a fact

That's Rose's real voice, Rose's fake voice is when she sang GD's "Without You" which was released in 2012. Rose's name was also not included, YG just wrote "Without You - GD ft. ??? (which means YG trainees )". In that song Rose deliberately lowered her voice so no one couldn't be known who the original singer was. And why do I know all that? Because I've been a YGStan since 7 years ago (longer than BP's debut) ...

SM Entertainment trains their artist for year/years that's why they have the best vocal artist in their company.. I'm a ReVeluv and Seulgi biased.. SME holds almost major of vocal artist in their entertainment, oh and also those goddamn visuals and dancing.. although SM is kinda like "shitty" company, let's admit that they trained their artist really well, especially for those who trained in a year upto 7 to 8 years with different kinds of aspect regarding singing, dancing and even acting as well..

I agree with your statements, but using Wendy as an example of SM's ability to train idol vocals is kinda wrong. A more appropriate example would be to compare SM's average vocal level, for instance how Irene and Yeri are significantly better in vocals than their counterparts outside. Artists like Seulgi require some innate vocal talent which is rare in kpop, and for Wendy's case, SM simply lucked out with her. Girl's raw talent is like a half polished diamond to begin with, its alot more to do with her having such a high innate vocal potential which can be easily brought out with SM's training program.

She does not use the same vocal tone. And you can very clearly hear less strain in her pre debut vocals. She used to use a pretty ok chest voice and a comfortable range. But nowadays all she uses is super nasal high pitched head voice and that is NOT healthy. I don’t think its her fake voice I just think she is straining and reaching farther than what is comfortable for her her vocal range. It does not appear she has been taught or trained on how to safely use her head voice or to use a chest voice to belt her high notes.
If she keeps singing this way she will end up damaging her voice which is sad, because she does have a lovely voice.

Is she doing some high notes as if its not a problem in psycho? I wanna know if its considered a high note cuz that the part that says something seoljige(?) is my fav part of the song. It sounds like its very easy for her. My range is so small that i hv to make it about 1 octave lower to sing it. I mean literally. I took piano class and we also learn about octaves and stuff but i quit.
Anonymous User for Sopranos, anything above Bb4 could be considered high note. As for Psycho, apart from the G5s in the adlibs and pre chorus, she stayed relatively within her supported range. I don’t remember the exact notes but I believe the part you mentioned are in the 4th octave.

Exactly. For me, Rosé is the best but I don't go around saying that as a Wendy/Jihyo bias, Rosé is on another level. All of them worked hard to be where they are and are definitely above average vocalists. It all comes down to personal preference on who's the best.

Wendy is the best vocalist of the generation, one of the best lower registers in the industry (she's really good for a soprano, F3 with support), one of the best head registers(B5 with resonance) and the best agility of this generation.
You can definitely prefer the other two vocalists, but vocal pedagogy is a fact
Wendy is an incredible vocalist. She can sing all genre of music. Her vocal range is sick! I doubt anyone can compete with her in Kpop when it comes to range, vocal tone, rifts, and genre styles. Just listen to her Instagram post..WOW.
