An excellent piece of cinematograph. Such a smooth transition from the _Protectress_-Class seemingly flying on her own to falling in formation with her _Tripathia_-Class parent vessel as they begin their engine burn.
The slightly staggered engine spool up on the Illustrious (Tripathia class) is so satisfying. It feels like a chonky & slow machine rather than a lightswitch (Or perhaps the analogy could be made to large industrial lightswitiches). Similar effect with the Adeptress’ (Protectress class) burn, but appropriately lessened due to only having one drive cone. Also, what is the blurry line that falls through screen center?
Its a CDF port station, iirc they are called forts in universe (Ex: Fort Farbridge, Fort Attencore), we see two of them in part one of the frontier war, where we meet Ariana Hawker.
“Do not despair, but find your courage! Atop your courage, the Sapphire flag has flown farther from the waters of Centrum than ever before! And atop your courage, it will fly farther still!”
The corvettes look gorgeous as a sojourn fan and patreoner of this community. i love absolutely love the design. it's small, fast, simple, and nice design that just makes sense for hard scifi fans like myself (ik this series is less than hard sci fi but its up their except for the material drift that allows for all of the technologies from gravity to drives to FTL)
I could be wrong. But does the Corvette not have any simulation gravity module like the Tripathia and Confiance Class because it's not supposed to be deployed far from base? Like it's a relatively short ranged craft that's only sent on escort sorties before returning to a space station?
They explained it in a lore short a while back, Directional Paragravity Circuits. Or DPC's. Two plates built on the floor and ceiling of the ship along with several other plates. that create a homogonous field of gravity using Drift. This is built onto ships that don't have centrifuges and are usually installed onto super yachts of the rich to maintain total comfort. The Guinivere actually has those plates into it because the ship was designed to lie and wait for days, weeks, or months at a time, and because the crew would be spending so much time in space, it was thought the cost was justified to keep them comfortable and maintain morale. Least that's how Daniel explained it.
@@yourfriend8052yeah that’s what I mean. Tripaithia and Confiance have non thrust gravity simulators because they’re they’re expected to be away from base for a while and there will be times where they won’t be under thrust. The Corvette maybe doesn’t do those kinds of deployments so it doesn’t need a spinning section.
What exactly are small vessels supossed to defend against? I recall that fighters/strike craft are not very widespread in this universe. You'd assume that bigger ships can usually outgun smaller ships.
Not to nitpick but the drive animation isn’t quite right. It would look more like a long ray of pink light that slowly fades out instead of a flame. It would probably be a bit longer than the ship as well. This is what hydrogen plasma in a vacuum looks like.
Coastal defense ships, brigs, sloops, sloops of war, corvettes... CDF has made a mess of small ship classification system, even though a lot of these ships seem to have mostly the same capabilities, autonomy and size.
Get The Sojourn here: www.thesojournaudiodrama.com/
WOW give the thrill of accelerating at high gss
Ah the Protectress, the little sister to the middle child Confiance and oldest child Tripathia, with their cousin Temperantia
You got to love more flying rectangles
Those engine burns never get old to watch

Are you just going to tease us with gorgeous animations rather than new ship breakdowns?
We're just too good at ship maintenance, very few breakdowns happen.
Smooth, God I hope we get a live action - animated series.
I love the corvettes
Makes a REALLY nice contrast to the earlier animation with that union corvette falling into formation with those outriders
For a brick they flew pretty good.

Your channel is extremely underrated.
This badly needs to be a fullblown animated series.
“Do not despair, but find your courage! Atop your courage, the Sapphire flag has flown farther from the waters of Centrum than ever before! And atop your courage, it will fly farther still!”
That animation was SWEET.
Straight up art. Love the little details, like that extra engine start "pop"

Incredible!
We need this to be developed into a game. The animations are perfect.
*Chef's Kiss* That was a beautiful piece of animation. Kudos to the animator, the composer and the designer!
(And thus the seeds of humanity was sent away to save us from extinction. ) That's some handsome animation.
EPIC
The animation is great, but that music is gorgeous
Lovely.
beautiful in every way
I saw CORVETTE and Sojourn and came as fast as I can
Beautiful
I can't wait for this to become a PC Realtime strategy game!
Amazing vessels & animation as always
That was fun. :)
What a beauty!! And great music
These animations are just epic!
Awwww, it’s a little confiance
I like how that Tripathia is named after a British aircraft carrier.
This is a beaut.
Very cool

Possibly but it’s more likely a cost cutting measure

@@shintaro797Yeah but that’s definitely not on that ship. Too expensive.
Its decks are vertically oriented and just relies on thrust gravity since 90% of the time you’ll be burning somewhere.

Stupid question but - what is the population of Tantalus Cluster - different times of history e.g. Star of the war, Start of the main story ?
Why are the radiators so small?
Form over function in sci-fi.
please just make a tv show
Slender boi

Aesthetic.
@@youtubepleb check out the ksp2 rocket animations. They are scientifically accurate and look really cool.

See the ship classification system of the Age of Sail. Then scream, because it’s just as confusing.
@@youtubepleb Fascinating.
