  • We've come to Wales to go Hiking and Wild Camping in Snowdonia. I love hiking in Wales as it's more challenging than hiking in the lake district or the peak district. If you love walking then this is the place for you.
Before we set up our wild camp for the night at Devil's Kitchen we decided to do a 4.4 mile hike up Y Garn, the 10th highest Mountain in Wales. The main national trust car park was full so we ended up walking 5.63 miles in total.
Buy your Snowdonia OS maps here on Amazon Prime for £6.99 amzn.to/32oJKzk
Here is my route on Strava / strava . When walking in snowdonia just be mindful that the car parks and laybys fill up really fast.
Actual walking time excluding stop and vlogging was 2 hours 16 minutes.
This was a fantastic route with some really steep and tricky sections. I really recommend this route.
Snow on the summit was a nice surprise! You on get that at this time of year when walking in wales.
My Day 2 video 'Hiking in Snowdonia - Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach' will be out next week as well as my wild camp video at Devils Kitchen.
    Gear Used:
Salomon Quest 3 4D GTX Hiking Boots
    Osprey Talon 22 Rucksack
    DHB Base Layers
    Rab Nucleus Hoodie
    Mountain Equipment Ibex Hiking Trousers
If you like hiking, backpacking and wild camping then this is the channel for you. If you want to see more hiking videos then please SUBSCIRBE. I'll be uploading more hiking vlogs in the coming weeks.
    Thanks, Andy.
Please note the amazon link is what everyone sees and pays but I receive a miniscule finders fee when people use the link. It all goes back into backpacking gear!

I think i need to start charging for my cameo appearances. Great hike that. Superb up and down circular route. Not for the faint hearted as its a pretty steep incline and a really steep decline back into the kitchen.

Find it so much easier to walk that route the other way around. Going up devils kitchen feels a lot safer than going down 😊

We tend to try and make our hikes more difficult with daysacks on and easier with the big bags on 😀

Me and my wife were up there Easter weekend and woke up to a snow dump. Just so you know Y is pronounced more like er. I prefer to do that loop the other way round as I find the steps easier to get up than the y garn ascent

Apologies for the pronunciation 🙈 We went the other way on Day 2 to do Fach and Fawr and and those steps felt just as hard. Epic route either way! That vid will be out tomorrow 👍

I didn’t know that at the time but I’ve since found that out (along with the pronunciations!). Better to get it right and get the facts out there, thanks. 😁

Great video! Just so you’re aware, it’s pronounced ‘Uh Garn’ not ‘Why Garn’ :)
