The Duke of Kent's Waltz - Jane Austen Ball - Driemond, April 2010

This was at the first Jane Austen Ball from the Jane Austen Society of the Netherlands, 10th April 2010. The Duke of Kent's Waltz is a very charming dance and we all enjoyed it very much indeed!

Gorgeous costumes! Any fans of the old 1960s Dutch miniseries "De vier dochter Bennet" out there? Thanks to the subtitles (and having studied other Germanic languages in university), I was able to catch a lot of the humor, and I thought it was so cool that the Bennett womenfolk crocheted (because I crochet, too). And Lady Catherine de Bourgh insisting that Mr. Collins' green beans had to be smaller & thinner than the ones in her own garden captured her bossy snobbishness perfectly! (Sorry if I misspelled anything here!)
