Just beautiful Barbara
Thank you.
may i know what paper is being used?
I use water color paper.
Hmmm only 1/2 of the information is available
This is a cyanotype (sun print). You expose the paper to sunshine to create the image.
Just beautiful Sue!
Thank you.
How do you do that on material???
You need to use only natural fibers (cotton, wool, hemp) and you cover the fabric with the photo sensitive chemicals. You can use a spray bottle to make it easier. You expose the fabric in sunlight the same as paper and rinse everything once the image is set. You need to be careful to wash the fabric with mild detergents or the image will fade.
Im learning this in class ❤
I think they are so fun to make.
Good morning. Very pretty. Can you please recommend how I would get different colors with the paper, instead of it always being blue?
Hi. There are different chemicals that can be used to obtain different colors. I don't have experience with it so I can't recommend them by names, but if you google it I think it will provide more details. Thanks for watching.
You can tone the final image with coffee, tea, wine, walnut etc. Lovely, unexpected results.
Jaquard has a variety of colors to use. Just google jaquard solarfast.
What Chemicals do I use?
I'm going to Google this question. I just love the way hers looks! Hoping I can get different color results!

Lovely!
Thank you.
Hi, paper was painting with acrylic paint first? Blue?
This is a cyanotype (sun print). The paper is coated with chemicals that are sensitive to light.
What type of paper is this?
Cyanotypes are made by painting a sun-sensitive chemical onto the paper or you can also buy cyanotype paper online that is already treated.I buy the nature print paper from Blick Art Supplies online and I've had great luck with the quality. I bought some cheaper stuff on Amazon that didn't work, so I recommend buying from someone like Blick.
Is it special paper?
Yes. You need to have paper that is coated with cyanotype chemicals. You can buy them at Blick Art Supplies.
What song is this? It sounds beautiful
I don't recall the name of the song. Sorry about that.
@@GardenMoxie No worries, thank you for responding though
Wow🎉
🥰🥰🥰
How long did you keep it in the sun for?
This specific image was out around 5 minutes. It depends on how sunny it is. You can tell by the color of the paper. I found practicing and learning the colors helped understand how to tell when the print was ready.
@@GardenMoxie awesome Ty!! I got some paper for xmas and this was the first video I found on the topic- there wasn’t any instructions with the paper. I can’t wait to try this!! Ty!!
@@sadie4479 It is a very fun process. Enjoy!
What about the chemicals? Do you hand mix them or it's a product you buy?
I bought the chemicals from Blick art supply online. You just add water. You can also buy paper that is already treated.
Does the paper need to be coated with anything?
The paper is coated with light sensitive chemicals similar to how a blue print used to be made.
@@GardenMoxie What chemical? So I can't just do this without a dye or something?
@@Elliesmellieatesomejellie If you google cyanotypes on the Blick art supply website, you will see paper and chemicals that you can buy. If you are looking to try it for the first time, I suggest buying a pack of "cyanotype" or "sunprint" paper. The paper comes ready to try. It is really fun to do.
