This is a Scorpion Fish that the divemaster, Norman, found as we were diving at Pedernalas in Aruba. He played around with it for a minute and then it sat there for me as I got up close.
For everyone who's saying that it is venemous: He was holding it under the belly, what's toxic is those little spines on the top. You shouls not even interact with wildlife anyway
I was snorkeling the other day filming a puffer fish and didn't notice a scorpionfish sitting right below me. I came down right on top of him with my chest, but miraculously didn't get stung, just scared the heck out of him, and myself... If anyone cares to see, I put the video on my channel.
Great video. I hit one with my knee during low tide when I lived in the French West Indies. My husband laughed like hell while I limped up to the house...got a cortisone shot in the butt and then I had a sore butt and a sore leg....we call them poisson vingt quatre heures where I lived because it hurt like hell for 24 hours...
This is a sculpin fish, sometimes a scorpion fish, it is poisonous but the poison isn't deadly, when you get a. It from its spines, it would sting like hell tho
Bro whene they were like touching the scorpionfish i thought they were traying to get out the scopiofish to get out of the rock that proves they camaslods like you cent even see it
Come to me senpai ;-; we actually caught a really small one with a backet. this one is a monster if i saw that in front of me i will just run so fast out.
Why are you harassing this poor fish? Leave the thing alone. Do not touch critters that obviously don't wish to be touched. This goes for fish and humans too.
Its such a shame that despite being a dive master this "Norman" fails to adhere to the basic rule of scuba - do not interact with wild life. This is actually really sad. Please all scube lovers - do not take this as a positive example. Leave nature alone... observe. enjoy. but please dont interfere.
I can understand if you're doing something terrible, but with that rule how the hell are you suppose to become best friends with an eel? /watch?v=npP8maVti7o
Yeah I am with you on this one, leave the fish the alone! If any of the divers I lead touch the marine life and especially a scorpion fish -one of the most poisonous fish, I would of ended the dive straightaway, packed up the divers gear and not let them dive for rest of the trip / day
That is insanely dangerous
Acculy its not that dengerous as long you dont touch the spines you'll be good to go
Their eyes just freak me out! I wouldn’t need to be reminded to leave it alone.

ha, why!?
I use to have one of these in my 120G fish tank. He was awesome I had to give him away when I moved.
Sculpin's venom usually doesn't cause serious harm, but from what i hear it's still one hell of a sting.

You were lucky. Steve Irwin, the famous Aus Zookeeper died in 2006 for letting his chest get too close to a stingray
Great video. Very much underappreciated (judging by the number of "likes").
I caught one of these in Greece a couple days ago in shallow water. Glad I didn't touch it - though I had no idea what it was till now.
bro picked it up like if it was nothing
dude is playing with fire
What the actual fuck? If he got bitten he probably would've passed out from the pain
You have got guts my friend
Well that was..... insanely cute

I would stab that thing and eat it
Does ya parents know you're a Scorpion fish botherer? Lol

You really ought not to be touching the fish like this.
