I think it's extra cool that they did this because they got compared to Nirvana so much at the time. They basically said, "Fuck it, yeah we like Nirvana. What other critiques do you have?"
Local h had longstanding disdain for nirvana. So this was more a jab at himself and the music industry than a tribute. It sounds so good because nirvana is dirt simple music compared to local h

@@OlympusAerial you can look up interviews and see the look on his face when they compare him to nirvana. They regularly played as nirvana on Halloween and cracked on the band. This was a thing. I'm 40. Get off my lawn kid.
I'm smiling through this whole thing, it's so fucking good. I've seen Local H several times and own all their albums but somehow this has eluded me for decades.
+Con Kaiserdor i'm with you. scott lucas tried way too much to sound like nirvana. strange thing because i always thought he's good enough to be his own artist. but back then he really wanted to be a kurt.
+TubedFisch Bro you don't know Scott Lucas at all if you think he wanted to be kurt. This is 100% satire, top grade at that. It only sounds so good because scott lucas could play a trombone solo and get your heart pumpin'
whatever you thing and whatever scott lucas thinks doesn't change the fact how local h sound to my ears. and back then, it was way too much nirvana like. still good stuff thought.
I just feel like you haven't listened to either of the bands enough to make the distinction, but that's neither here nor there. Local H wrote a song that was way to smashing pumpkins like, which is the other chicago act that played at the metro... look up "no problem" and "1979" and tell me they were trying so hard to sound like nirvana =/
Joe Daniels is on fucking fire. He's got that trademark angst in his playing: just like Dave and pretty much all other drummers from those grunge days.
Local H is a big fan of Nirvana as we cn see. im so f..suprise when i saw ds. the best & d 1st band to cover Nirvana. in you tube also. wow. superb video upload. So rare. tnx bro.👍☺
This is awesome. I especially enjoyed the part where he knocked the mic over and the roadie picked it up just to have him purposely knock it over and then finish the song kneeled over face first in the stage.
Most impressive tribute I've ever seen, but Kurt's vocals on so many of these songs may never be recreated. Aneurysm is a golden example: still an incredible rendition by Scott though.
Just like Nirvana . Hell I played guitar along with him. I can’t sing. Joe doesn’t miss a note. He even adds a few. Lol I could tell this was from the 90s because of the big old chrome lights I miss so much. Captain Caveman jams.

longhorn2615 Scott has a bass pickup in the neck and a guitar pickup in the bridge and he plays both at the same time. This is why when you see Scott on stage with a guitar amp and a bass amp and a drummer. He has it rigged into a two channel switch where he alternates from the bass amp and guitar amp. He has a wicked cool pedalboard setup. Local H is really only Scott and a live Drummer.
"Is this on? Is this thing on?"
Classic.
"COVER YOUR HAIR IN YOUR EYES"
Joe Daniel’s is hands down one of the most underrated drummers ever to walk earth. He is insanely good
Better than Grohl. Joe and Scott the hardest two man band
ever!
Really great. I've never seen a drummer on a Nirvana cover match or exceed the power of Dave Grohl until now.
Dave is a hard hitter for sure, but school was recorded with Chad channing on drums.

Yep. I'd pay to see this. And I actually saw Nirvana once so there.
they did the nirvana thing again in october, its on youtube too, check it out if you havent already
Cool, thank you
Awesome, saw them in Vancouver 93. Which show did you see?
Super cringe

I've always loved Local H but wow. Loved the tribute. Prob closest thing to actually seeing nirvana perform.
Fucking right it is
Local h had longstanding disdain for nirvana. So this was more a jab at himself and the music industry than a tribute.

I do believe this has to be the most underrated video of all time... I enjoyed this the moment he hit no recess... Nice bag of tricks!
Only 16k views? ridiculous. My second watching in the past 2 days, it's awesome.

Best tribute I've ever seen. Sounds just like Nirvana, well played!!
it's crazy how they nailed it...I always thought local h sounded a bit too much like Nirvana...this confirms that idea!

Impressive, they even had the stage banter down perfectly, haha. The set list is amazing too.
I swear the drummer channeled dave grohl in territorial pissings lol
Can't believe I have never seen this..wow
Wow! Screw the people that say Local H has no talent
Kaleb Engel has anyone said that ever?
Khalil Mason yes, and those people need to get the crust out of there eyes and ears😂
I love seeing those comments... just shows how stupid they are... if you don’t like it... that’s one thing. But “no talent”? Ignorant 12 year olds
I’ve never heard anyone say that in my life. I seen them live back in 98-99 and they were louder and sharper than a 5 piece. Amazing fucking band
Who the hell said that. Shit local h is one of the most creative and talented bands period
Joe Daniels is on fucking fire. He's got that trademark angst in his playing: just like Dave and pretty much all other drummers from those grunge days.
Beat with passion.. good drummer. Great show. Love it.
This brought back so many memories. I remember the show like it was yesterday.
They're doing Nirvana again this year at the Double Door. Wish I could make it to Chi but hopefully someone will record it.

Man I wish I could like this more than once
Love this ❤️❤️❤️😂😂😂😂 I literally thought this was Nirvana
Except Kurt Cobain is a left handed guitar player...........
I wish I was there!
This is awesome. I especially enjoyed the part where he knocked the mic over and the roadie picked it up just to have him purposely knock it over and then finish the song kneeled over face first in the stage.
Well then, If there was any resume out there for next nirvana vocalist to carry on the band, we’ve found him
just found this ... after watching some local h vids .. so rad
WOW I'm impressed. I'm inlove actually.")
Is that J Veldman on vocals?
Great cover !
That fucking drummer. Holy shit. Great drummer.
Over-all a very impressive tribute. Very cool to do as Nirvana songs are full to play!
I was at this show, and I don’t remember a fucking thing. Nice to look back on the night.
Wow. I have never heard Kurt’s speaking voice so perfectly emulated.
sounds more like krist
@@tcd1289 nope
They're doing this at a drive-in in Illinois for Halloween 2020.
Scott Lucas as Kurt Cobain.

Never seen this but man this was badass! Epic shit! Even sounded like Nirvana!!!
Thank you for posting.
Legal pra caralho essa banda.....a voz dela cantando as músicas do Nirvana não igual mas....chega lá
EVEN THE KRIST IMPERSONATION ON TERRITORIAL PISSINGS WAS ON POINT!

I saw them last night and they were a bald eagle and Captain America, I would have lost my mind if they did this.
I *almost* wish I was at this show over the real thing!
Holy shit, this is amazing

omg this is amazing. I know they dressed up as Oasis one Halloween too... any chance that video is floating around somewhere???
I have to make on more comment...this is fucking fantastic..gave me chills

Tom Franco Same 😂😂😂
I mean of all the Nirvana tributes..this is the one...right?... I mean this is one that doesn't make me feel sick...and makes good fucking sense
why this so good?
Cause they played with passion.
Holy crap!!!!!! PHENOM!
God I fucking miss him.

whaaaaat?! that's really amazing tribute... Local H is fkng good band. Unbelievable. (but Nirvana, is ofc the best ever :-)) ).

Muito bom o som dos caras. Vocal ficou Kurt puro
thanks heaps brother !
Only Kurt Cobain can pull of the lead guitar parts to school & Love Buzz .🎸🎵🎶🎵🎶
Local H playing Nirvana makes sense.
Bravo!
Bro if I didn’t see the title I’d think it was fr nirvana
Why arent more people aware of this..local h rules
wow. awesome
Awesome
Good times.
Good timetobecrazy.
Me thinking it was an real nirvana concert: 🤡
AWESOME
This is great 😈💯
It's unusual to see a guitarist playing grunge on a Telecaster
At first, I thought Nirvana was opening for Local H.
hell yeah
OMG Did you guys see that performance of 'Breed'? Lol
I loved when he knocked over the stand the second time. Gold.
R21melb Singing on the floor! Epic
that was pretty fuckin epic !

Joe fuckin rocked it
Nice
Wow! I had no idea that this even existed
Post Malone?? Who??
i miss joe daniels

Lmaooo this!!!
Apparently they were a punk band. Who knew?
this is nirvana or NIRVANA UK
Ha imo no better band to do this then local h. Fucking great show
Being nit-picky, but he doesn't pay the lead parts in the verses of Breed. Unacceptable (Joking, it's a great performance, but what I said is true.)
Who's playing bass?
Scott, the singer. His guitar has 2 bass stings and a bass pickup. Very unique
+Christian Anderson he doesn't have 2 bass strings, he just has a bass pickup that picks up the bottom 2 strings
That's true, but there's a bass player in the video.
Scott Lancaster yes I know but he's not actually playing
longhorn2615 Scott has a bass pickup in the neck and a guitar pickup in the bridge and he plays both at the same time. On par...
This is actually better than live Nirvana. Live Nirvana wasn’t this good. This drummer is incredible!!

Dam there better than Nirvana . I’m kidding . But awesome as hell. Joe drummer is as good as Dave.
Hmmmm, smells like Nirvana

It’s like Nirvana , but better
Joe doesn't appear to be as tight as Dave..
Either that or he just isn't bringing his A-game.
Lol Joe's cringy Teen Spirit...
Bad "Nirvana Cover" drummer
what?
Joe Daniels is a wayyyy better drummer than the new guy
paramount yes, really
Was Daniels the black dude that was in Local H like in the very beginning? I remember him being a beast on the drums some time ago.
It’s like the PJ drummer drama all over again. No.
