    I started brewing with LME and DME and switched to all grain. The problem i always had with your method was the green apple taste in the beer. I also think the wort with your method should be boiled for at least 30 minutes.

      @@davidphilion1432 it’s interest the different flavours that people’s pallets pick up. I can’t say that green apple is a flavour that I have experienced. I’m glad you’ve found a method that works well and you’ve got beer that you enjoy!

      @@shari_brewingandbeer I think the green apple taste comes from using table sugar

      @ ahh, yes. For me, it gives more of a wine taste. This is why I use dextrose or a blend of dex and light dry malt.

    Hi Shari,
    I know this question is unrelated to the video.
    I saw the morgans ginger beer video on the Facebook page
    Can you use a booster blend with the Morgan's ginger beer extract?
    What would be the difference in using a booster blend vs just straight Dex?
    Cheers. 🎉🎉

      @@AHPOutdoors you can use a booster blend but that is going to make the ginger beer more malty (because it has light dry malt in the blend) so isn’t my usual suggestion. Crafted Taste does a ginger beer blend which is Dex and brown sugar, just to add a bit of a different flavour, but you can definitely add just Dex and it’ll come out great.

    Just found your channel. No boiling the wort?

    • @shari_brewingandbeer

      @@intuitivehomebrew3199 the extract cans contain the boiled wort, reduced to a syrup. Extract brewing allows people to brew beer, without the time or equipment that all-grain brewing requires. There in the occasional all-grain video on this channel, but the main focus is for extract brewers.

    hey could you help me with 2 questions i have. can you use the "Great Northern Style Recipe Pack" with a simple Morgans Premium Microbrewery Starter Kit or do you need a more advanced brewing kit with pressure regulators ? and second my starter kit has black mold throughout it, is it usable with a clean or too far gone ? thanks

    • @shari_brewingandbeer
      @shari_brewingandbeer  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@bryce6267 the starter kit is exactly what you need to do almost every brew that I do. The pressure fermenter I use is not needed at all.
      Look, mould can be tricky to get rid of and I would be concerned about using a bleach based product on the fermenter. A new fermenter will cost the same amount as a brew, so if you clean it, use it but the beer is still effected, you’ve lost the amount of money you would of spent on a new fermenter. In future, store the fermenter clean and dry, that will reduce of this happening again.
