FINALLY! My gosh, I spent year and YEARS trying to find this song. It irritated me so much that I didn't know what it was and now I finally have found it. :)
It was on a rerun of an old music show on TV the other day and I was cleaning the house and heard it so I rushed over to the TV to see what the artist name was and finally the pieces came together
Still listening to this in 2023 (it's an awesome song) whenever, it comes on the radio, it just captivates me. And more now, than ever before. It always makes me wonder, (and I firmly believe, not if they exist , but where) what another species, would make, of us, here, on earth. Killing each other.
The best Christmas song ever, by a long way. At least it shows some imagination about how the Christmas story is told. The clips of 80s Christmas in London make this feel very poignant to me, especially the young boy looking around. And yet, this song barely gets played each year in December. But it's wonderful to find people on here that love this song as much as I do. Merry Chrstmas to all of you :)
Has to be the most poignant Christmas song of them all. Brings me to the edge of tears whenever I hear it and it’s nothing short of scandalous that it is seldom played on the radio during the festive season.
My heart responds to this beautiful song every time I hear it. The message never changes. Stop the killing, stop the destruction of the very thing that gives us life-this precious planet.
I still get goosebumps when listening to his songs. My brother introduced me 30 years ago and now he's gone these songs remind me of him. Good luck to you all and God bless you Chris
That's the true story .... Mary was abducted and impregnated by ets, then when he rose up, he rose up in a spaceship but the church doesn't want you to know the truth....
Merry Christmas to you all, wherever you are in the world, be kind, respectful, love one another, look after yourself, your family and friends, give a thought to your elderly neighbours, pray that we, one day, may have peace in the World, a big ask I know. God bless you all. ❤❤💐💐👏👏🙏🙏❤❤
Gives me cold shivers every time I ear it. A song u will never get of listening to. And cdb is correct in saying this song will still be played in 2000 years time. Merry Christmas
I am a 42 year old composer and sound engineer. What went wrong is technology advanced to allow people who cannot write music nor sing, to be passed off as able to do so, packaged for a corporation and sold to gullible ears. First time I heard this live was at the Crystal Palace Bowl - CDB came out with just him and the guitar, started this wonderful tune, and sang it - just him and the crowd!
I joined his live in Taiwan ,about1996. He came alone, only he and his acoustic guitar on stage.ln the beginning I was a little disappointed coz no band with him😢 but when he started singing, his great voice was full of power and love ❤,filled the whole concert hall.lovely experience😊

Memories of a fantastic evening at the now demolished Cornwall Coliseum, St. Austell, September 1992, CdB in concert. He’s an object of fun by many but this was just a fantastic night and this song sent tingles when he played it, mesmerising!

THE best Christmas song of all time, and I'll happily die on that hill.
This has always been my favourite Chris de Burgh song.

Best Christmas song of all. Love the theme, as if the angel was an alien and the star being a UFO. Can never rule it out
