What a stamp collection you have. You inspired me to start collecting stamps and I have quite a nice selection to work with now. Thank you for letting us know about stamp clubs; I will need to check out my local area for clubs.
Wonderful! So glad to hear it! 💜
Years ago I used to make ATC's and trade them and we would use the stamps with heads and draw or collage a body on them or a stamp with building we would draw more building on either side. I remember having some with coffee/tea pots on them, so I would draw a table with coffee cups and put that stamp in the middle of the table. We didn't cut the heads or pots out. Use the whole stamp.
I know exactly what you mean, Debbie. I love those stamp head collages. My friend makes a whole zine with lots of stamp heads 😉👍🏻❤️
Just found your channel. I'm looking forward to watching many other videos here. 18 years ago I worked as a receptionist at a company that shipped product to pilots around the world. They often retuned the computer disks we sent them to recycle. I got to open those packages with fabulous stamps from around the world. I still have quite a few of them. My favorites were from S. Africa.
What a great story of going through those envelopes! I'm glad you kept some of those stamps and hopefully now you can use them creatively 😉💜👏🏼
I love postage too, this is a very inspirational video. Thank you so much for sharing. 🧡
Glad you enjoyed it! 💙
That was so much fun. I am fairly new to this and got a lot of great ideas. I have loads of postage stamps from when i was a kid.
Nice!! I'm so glad you've got some new ideas to play with. I hope you'll start experimenting with them 😉👍🏻💜
This is SO funny! A few minutes before I found this video from you, I decided to take my old stamp collection (way back from my childhood and not money worth) and do something with it, collage or mixed media with acrylic, watercolour, stencils made of linocut, whatever.
And then I stumbled over your video! 😀
Awesome! I hope you've got some new ideas to play with and put your stamps to work! Have fun 💙
So inspiring...I love postage stamps too!! 💌 Adding grid collaging to my creative want-to-do list!! 😘
Go for it! 💙
I didn't mean to quit I pushed the wrong button. You have taught me so much about collagen and I am so grateful for it. It is so much fun and I have more confidence now. I have not gotten a hold of the stamp club yet but I will try to check it out tomorrow because I'm desperate for stamps. I only had a few and I have used many of them already . Thank you again for all your wonderful inspiration. Blessings and love from New Mexico
I'm so glad you've got some new ideas to play with, Judie! Have fun!! 💙
Love this idea ❤Thank you for the inspiration
You are so welcome! Thanks for stopping by 💜
Fabulous inspiration, Margaret. Grid collating is so addictive and you made it look effortless.TFS C xx
Thanks so much 😊
Love the new hairstyle, Margarete! Very flattering :-) ... thanks for another great video too!!
Thank you! 😃
Okay now I am really hooked. I found a template for 2-in squares on a page Google and printed me off about 10 I think and put them in a little binder and I have already done three whole pages. It is so addictive and I just love doing it.
Wonderful! 💜
Love your new hairstyle! Great ideas and inspiration Margarete! Thanks!
Thank you so much! 💙
Honestly Margarete, i could watch you every day and be inspired. Your instructional videos are so helpful. 💙
Awww. So kind of you to say! 😘 Thank you.🌷
Really enjoyed this and seeing your collage process! I love incorporating postage stamps into my collages. Blue Chip stamps and all the vintage grocery stamps are also a fun favorite.
Ahh, I have a sheet of Blue Chip stamps somewhere. I need to pull those our! I love the size. 👍🏻
Very beautiful gorgeous stamp collage I 💞 it
Thanks, Linda!! 💜
@@MargareteMiller you're welcome 🤗🌹
Online crafters are creating their own stamps by cutting out
small images to that size with fancy edged scissors and gluing them to white card stock. The subject matter is unlimited!
I do that from time to time. It’s fun to play with images from dictionaries and make them into stamps this way. 👍🏼
Oh my gosh, what a trip down memory lane! As soon as you showed the box of stamps, I was transported back to my grandfather’s living room where his desk was. He was a philatelist/stamp collector and I used to help him “play stamps”. I can smell that box! It smells like paper and glue and a little like money and cigarettes LOL I wish I had some of his stamps to play with now. How did you find the stamp club?
I loved the pages in your journal where the center stamp dictated the color of the stamps on the top and bottom of the page. Very neat! I,m feeling inspired! Thank you!
Wow!! I'm so glad this gave you some memories to enjoy. 🌷 I just did a google search for a local stamp club. 👍🏻 Try it and see what comes up in your area.
💜💜💜
💙💜❤️
So excited about these ideas. Thank you for the inspiration!
You are so welcome! I hope you use some of your stamps 💜
Margarete: I certainly like your explanation of how you go about it. Listening to you go through the process, I wondered if the viewers were still intimidated to start? Then I started to wonder how you really go about teaching collaging. How do you give someone, who has never done it before , to just try it. Collaging to many of us is so satisfying and creative. This could be a very good topic for discussion. I guess I’m just thinking out loud. Anyway, I enjoyed your video and it did spark several ideas. Thank you. Carol from California
Thanks, Carol, for your thoughts. Your comments would make a great roundtable discussion that I'd love to attend. Will have to think about making something like that happen 😉👍🏻💜.
I really do like to watch you do what you do. If that makes sense. Thank you for the idea of looking to a stamp club. I Googled it and there is a stamp club here in Albuquerque. I will be getting in touch with them to see if I could buy a large bunch of stamps as I only have a few. You are so good at collaging small spaces. I think I learned so much from watching you and would appreciate more videos like this. I will check out the one you suggested. I also really like your hair today do you have it up or did you get it cut? Blessings and hugs from New Mexico
Wonderful! I'm so glad you'll be reaching out to your local club! 👏🏼
Ha.nice the gridbook is dutch...postzegelboekje is dutch for book for stamps(postzegel =stamp)greetz from the Netherlands
Fabulous! That’s exactly what I had hoped it would say 👏🏼❣️😉
I have look for stamp ideas so thank you. ❤❤❤
I love the cancellation stamp! That would work in a lot of spots. My husband passed away last year and had many stamp albums and lots of stamp misc. I found a buyer for the bulk of it. He'd been giving me duplicates when he purchased packs. We have a local stamp club and will keep that in mind if I need more than the odds and ends I still have. I just ordered your grid journal and am excited
to start putting stamps in it. Thank you for the video!
Wow! It sounds like you've got plenty of stamps to work with if you'd like. I hope you use some of them in collage. You can start in your grid journal! 😉
I just got the grid journal today. I guess I didn't fully realize how small the squares would be! Good thing I like working small and have a stash of old postage stamps. I hope I can flatten it more to make it easier to use. I'll let you know how it goes. 😊
You’ve given me a new love for postage stamps! Your journals are brilliant ❤🎉
Thank you so much 😊
These are great. I. also have a box of stamps that was given to me. I keep a journal and am constantly making lists about collage projects or creative projects I want to do and working them through my head. I think writing is a big part of making art.
I'm going to try to use a journal more to keep track of things. I forget so easily... . 👍🏻
Wonderful!
Many thanks! 💜
This was inspiring! Thanks ❤
So glad! 💜
This was a fun video to watch
Thank you, Dorothy! 🌷
The little booklet with the word "Postzegelboekje" is Dutch. It means "little book of stamps".
Yes, but try to find one!
Good to know! That's exactly what I'm going to use it for. Filling it with stamps 😉👍🏻💜
So fun!
Love the way you used stamps.I have tons and would like to use them somehow
Just start gluing them on paper. It get's easier after that. 👍🏻
Interesting ❤
Thanks for stopping by, Toni! 💙
Where can we get a box like that????? I love this so. much
Do a google search for a stamp club in your area. Find out who is the president of the club and send them a message that you'd like to buy a box of cheap stamps. They'll have some. 👍🏻
I have a hard time watching this one I like stamps! I know you got a lot of the, but I was looking for a lot of the ones you had in your box and in your catalog that you used! It's not your Falt it just is something I need to get over I like what you do it give me lots of ideals!
So glad you've got some new ideas to play with! 👍🏻
Loved watching this. Funny thing you placed the items and stamps in the exact location I was telling you to, did you hear me? Lol.. I also loved that you showed the big box of stamps. I have one of those. I bought them at a yard sale where someone was getting rid of their father's collection. They all have the envelope paper on them. My goal with these is to sell listings of them in my shops. I tried sorting them but it just about drives me nuts. So I haven't had much progress. Most are US, any suggestions or advice would be helpful. TFS Hugs * L
Sorting is hard work! That's why I've got mine in a huge box 😉👍🏻💜
Love this idea! Searched for the little foreign grid notebook (not the one from Amazon) but the only things I could find were vintage and expensive do you have a source for yours that you could share?
Gosh, I don't know where to look for the little ones. I'd suggest you make something similar with a ruler and black pen. Just a couple of pages and then go from there to see if it's a fun project to do.
Thanks, you gave me a great idea. I have several passport size travel notebooks with dot grid pages. Since I can’t draw a straight line with or without a ruler I will use the dot grid to draw larger size boxes. Of course I love your grid journal as well!
