They Live gave me that exact same way. I can only imagine what the world became after the destruction of the satellite that breaks the signal of what the world truly is!
You have to admit it though when Halloween 2 came up and he found out he had to share top billing with Dino De Laurentis he hated that. When he said I hated the concept of Halloween 2 you can tell he was making that up he felt that Halloween 2 wasn't is movie like the first one was because he wasn't the name in top billing on the film Dino De Laurentis was and he hated the fact that they had to Both share it.
I like Halloween II. I think it's a really good sequel and, in fact, I like it just as much as the original. I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate that, but...
Sorry one more thing. Mick. Your humilty ( shown obviously when John brings up M.O H. ) and love of movie making is admirable and in this day and age ...refreshing. love brotha
I love ambiguity. I hate kids these days who think every horror movie looks a certain way and ends a certain way. Granted I'm only 21 year old but still John is a master and the ending to The Thing is marvelous.
They obligated him to do a Halloween sequel because they saw a lot of money on Myers but he didn't want to continue his story and rightfully so. It's because of these people that the franchise got stupid twists like Laurie being a Myers and ultimately that Busta Rhymes kicked the crap out of Michael Myers.
I love that he wore black on a black set and in some shots its just a floating head talking pure cinema
John's such an intelligent, funny guy. Love him!
Always love the end of John Carpenter’s films. It leaves it open for your mind to make up a whole other movie in your head.

The ending of escape from New York!
He's a great interview subject, isn't he? You don't get any bullshit from John!

Fantastic interview. Thanks for doing these.
mick garris is awesome too !
The Fog is really good. The widescreen format he used to shoot it made it look beautiful.
Yeah. An underrated Carpenter movie. Probably his most underrated one.

J.C is the only guy in Hollywood I'd ever work for, Period !!
Cigarette Burns for MoH is one of his best works. It's surprising, because he did it so late in his career and not for the big screen.
It's just interesting hearing him talk about his movies. He is a master at what he does, great filmmaking and great music.
It's a horror masterpiece
I honestly can't tell you. I've seen it so many times. Most of the horror movies I love now, I saw very young. Horror movies don't scare me
I respect is honesty with his politics.
No one ever accused John of not speaking his mind.
Big Trouble in Little China at 4:33
7:21 Too true.
Is he becoming Lee Van Cleef?
He's just missing the eyes.
Now he's becoming Fu Manchu.
Sorry one more thing. Mick. Your humilty ( shown obviously when John brings up M.O

Aw, shucks.
What Carpenter says about Bottin (sp? Sorry) being a fan. Thats the key to everything. You gotta love it baby!
That segment in Body Bags with the hair.. "You don't LIKE hair!?"
Cigarette Burns was so good! As good as any of his 80s stuff!
He's hilarious to interview. Just like I don't care, it was long ago, who cares Haha, he's great

He did the sequel under duress because the studio was threatening to make the movie without him.
Halloween2 was the greatest one. Samhain 666
