These are great traps. Picked up 5 110's, 3 120's and1 130 for emergency meat security.

Got some of these a couple months ago for my bug out bag. Bought me through sears for only 3 or 4 bucks a piece. Good stuff.

I used these traps when I was much younger. They work very good when install in an entrance to an animals den. We used them mostly for muskrat. A very effective trap.

I picked up one of these traps and was not sure if i was gunna pick up any more. Setting the trap up the way i did seemed clumsy and I was not confident it would work. I would not have know the proper way to set this up with the sticks to stableize like you showed. Being a novice at trapping I would not have thought to use monofiliment. Thanks for posting a good video, I will be picking some more of these traps up.

I bought six traps ... three each from different dealers ( all 110), three of the six are Duke and none of them will work. I bought a setter tool to help me set them and sprayed with oil to try to get them to move and one side will move but the other side will not squeeze in...it’s stuck.

ref. the dog with 3 slots....can you explain which one is more sensitive.

    • @Xx0ME0xX
      @Xx0ME0xX 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Idk for sure.but i would assume the farthest out of the three would be most sensitive at the cost of some power, the closest one to the wire piece i assume would be strongest but least sensitive

@bobaloosb last I checked youtube videos weren't a competition. And in a demonstration format he set the trap just fine I've used those for years and I can't see what he did wrong aside from not using setting tongs

don't need to imagine, and it hurts. Amazon sales these 6 for $25. Good survival buy!

You definitely could easily cut through the chain with a pair of wire cutters. I keep cord tied to the ring on the end of the chain on mine, but it may be somewhat lighter and quieter without it.

Sorry Adam, I don't think this video is up to you normal standards. It's hard to tell what is being said at times, there does not seem to be the planning and preparation gone into it. It may sound a bit petty but chewing gum whilst giving a tutorial is not great. I am and will remain a supporter of your channel and I hope you view my points as constructive feedback. We all have much to learn from you and your team in the future. Cheers...

@Survivalpractical I think dave is great, certainly a mentor to me, but i agree that some of his fans are a bit odd. Bear Grylls has done FAR worse to bushcraft and survival then anyone else. and his fans are much worse. atleast daves fans have some knowledge. Bears fans think colourful bugs are best food (colour usually indicates poison), and that doing parkour over rocks is how to get about.
Someone you should check out is Woodtrekker, hes very good, and down to earth like Adam on here

rather wire, if the animal doesn't die instantly, it could chew through the 550 cord

Behind who? Dave??? Who designed the trap, and who built it? Frank Conibear....and Im sure a Smith, its a metal trap, frank lived outside of Ft Smith.....so who is behind who?

Yes I agree Dave is far more knowledgeable then Bear. I respect dave and all his knowledge, I just don't like the way hes ben going about his vids lately. It's either been telling people his way is always best or that you should buy his new product. No more lets learn together. I liked the yurt series. But nothing since. In fact I unsubbed his normal channel. I like the SAN stuff. And thanks for the recmendation for wood trekker. I subbed him.

To be honest to you I'm getting really sick of the Dave Canterbury clones. Get a mind and think for yourself please. Im thinking the "common man" thing refers to the level of intelligence that his followers have. Not the brightest people. No disrespect to him but I think he has ruined bushcraft and wilderness self reliance on youtube with his commercialization.
Equip to endure is a great place for gear reviews and demos. These traps aren't my thing but I love your stuff anyway.

this vid has been done buddy...nice try you are like 4 months behind dave. Ya you set the trap wrong...learn how to use it before you show people. Oh and the mono is a waste of time...really man?
