    Thank you for this video. My xb1s recently blew out a power module, so I replaced that and thought to change thermal paste as well. This video helped so much. Original paste was crumbling like old playdough. I do love my xb1s and you helped save it.

      Yeah, when I take the heat sink off I pop it from the top and slowly pry it upwards creating a fulcrum if you will on the stud. As I just got my 1st Series S I'm glad to see it looks much simpler to take apart now as it's more compact.

    Hello so I just got this Xbox and it would beep and light up then turn off so I took it apart and the thermal paste is everywhere around the mirror chip and was wondering how to get it off. It's pretty bad and I'm not sure how gentle I need to be and if there are tricks

      Use isopropyl 90% and a soft plastic (a guitar pick). Or If you get a fasttech kit from like fasttech for 30$ it'll have everything you need.

    So weird, I didn’t need the tool kit to do it. I think I only might of used a couple tools. Also, I was head bobbing to the beat. Neck exercises are a bonus.

      Its normal dont worry some Xbox One S heatsinks do not have the copper part.

    Are your parts on your website new or repaired and sold?

      Depends on the part. Items that can be bought new from suppliers like hard drive are new, items that cant be like mainboard and network adapters are used and pulled out of working systems. This is because manufacturers like Microsoft and Sony refuse to sell parts for these devices for business reasons.

    Would it be ok to put some thermal pads over ram and south bridge chips?

      For a thermal pad to conduct heat it has to make contact with something additional to the component you’re trying to cool like a heatsink or a metal backplate.

      Check the heatsink and clamp also make sure the fan is spinning

    You don't use Kryonaut on direct die applications, it pumps out rapidly
    the shin etsu like putty does not experience this, you changed the tim for the sake of it, not because there was a problem at hand.

      I'm having the same problem with my kids . All I can see is that some cola may have dropped in from the top through the fan holes and left sticky spots on the board so I'm hoping a good cleaning might help it .

    Using flat head to remove the x clamp was the wrong method, the space in between the pegs is where you put the same head as the screws and apply force in the opposite direction, it causes each side to pop of with ease instead of slightly prying at it with the flat head. Only saying this bc that’s where it went wrong for me when following this guide

    Gee, your APU looked rather clean and professionally done before you cleaned it. Maybe your xbox has already been repasted, because mine was a nasty mess. Way too much compound caked all over the surrounding transistors. Took about a half hour to clean it off.

    I wouldn't give my console to someone who would open it with a knife. That's what the cube for opening the console casing is for.

    Just because you didn't show step by step how to reassemble the case on Xbox, I broke my power button and LED indicator, it will cost me $60 to buy a new board and ship it to my area. You did the one way guide, just a disassembly, reassemble is not shown. When you assemble, there are other things you need to be cautious about if you don't want to break anything, and you didn't mention it in your video.
