@Ursa Major i know Banjo personally, and he has autism. He is socially awkward and has a hard time making friends. The fact that he did nothing wrong, was trying to be friendly and funny (which autistic people have a hard time doing) and got yelled at for it, Liege is in the wrong. And they just met.. Banjo couldnt have been annoying him if they JUST met. Pretty sad for Liege to not show any ounce of self control and just start yelling like that. Kudos to Banjo for keeping his composure. But unfortunately, since he is autistic, that experience will probably scar him and prevent him from trying to be outgoing in the future.

I do, however, think that it's human nature to take note of things that are out of the ordinary. Call it curiosity or whatever. An adult man talking to a waifu plushie in public is extremely out of the ordinary, even if there's nothing morally wrong with it.
If you think about it, cringe represents a failure on the part of the person doing the cringing. We cringe at things that make us feel awkward and uncomfortable. A truly enlightened soul, fully secure in his identity, would never find anything to be cringe. The things we find cringe are things that we don't understand, and that we are afraid of our lack of understanding of. If one simply accepts that it's ok not to understand, the cringe vanishes. In this particular instance, I think you have correctly identified that finding an adult man talking to a waifu plushie to be cringe represents the social constraints that many men hold as their reality. Talking to a plushie is something a little girl would do, not a big strong grown man. People are insecure; they feel, on some level, that the claims they make about their identity are dubious, and that they might be outed as an imposter. "I am a big strong man, and you know this because I do not own, let alone talk to, plushies." The thought that an adult man might be able to talk to his waifu plushie is enraging ("cringe") to them, because it challenges the identity signifiers that they ground themselves in. "This guy has a plushie but is also a man; maybe the fact that I don't have a plushie is not actually evidence that I am a man."
My point is, let people cringe. For them, finding things to be cringe serves a very similar purpose to dubuz' waifu plushie. It makes them feel better about themselves, and it doesn't harm you.

But that wasn't enough for Liege. He had to make a big deal out of it. If you want to get all pedantic about vocabulary and say he wasn't screaming, it's not about the screaming. It's the energy he's giving off. He's going off on someone who meant him no harm in the first place and even agreed to respect his boundaries after being asked to.
The other dude is trying to get to a place of understanding and mutual respect so they can commentate together. He even explains why he touched Liege so that Liege knows he meant no harm and that he was trying to break the ice a little bit. Nothing Liege does here makes the situation better.

I would have said, something like, "I'm just going to politely tell you right now, please don't touch me." And if he said, "oh I thought we were friends," I would just say, "we aren't that close, I know you mean no harm by it, but just please don't touch me." I would say it in a calm voice without raising it as well. And then I would just say, "thank you" (assuming he just said, "okay").
