So about warlords of draenor, that hooded character that says "Times Change" is Garrosh Hellscream, son of Grommash Hellscream. Garrosh went back in time to prevent his father from drinking the fel and dying and in doing so created an alternate reality where both Grommash and Gul'dan were still alive, and then they invaded our Azeroth throught the dark portal.
Not exactly. Some of the Orcs drank the blood of Mannoroth a second time in WC3! Those who drank it twice became the Chaos Orcs (this is why Grom had red eyes in the WC3 cinematic) which we meet in BC. The Orcs have drunk his blood before entering Azeroth the first time (-> Warcraft 1 ). The orcs of WoD didn't have green skin because they haven't drunk the blood even once! As we all know -> Guldan was already dead in Warcraft 3. This is why he's said this is not supposed to be our destiny.
@@xandldandl the orcs were originally red when they drank the blood when it was fresh (and were nearly uncontrollable with overwhelming bloodlust and incredibly powerful) but gradually turned green as it's power faded due to the residual fel energies. The chaos orcs are merely orcs who are back at the level of power they originally had when they assaulted Karabor. By the time they made the march to Shattrath, most of them had begun to power down and turned green. Orcs who drank the blood and were exposed to certain warlock magics could temporarily return to that powered up red state, but suffered severe crashes afterward and became increasingly unhinged to the point it was only used as a last resort as the orcs could go permanently insane with blood-lust. Also even orcs that didn't drink but practiced warlock magics gradually turned green as well (this how the Frostwolves all turned green, since they refused the blood but did take up Warlock magics to replace the lack of ability to wield the elements after the elemental Severing occurred with the raising of the Hand of Gul'dan, since it was the prolonged exposure to fel magicks that actually turned them green. The Mag'har completely refuse to use demonic magics, while the Iron Horde employs Dark Shamans who use void magic to enslave the elements to not have to use Fel Magick since at Garrosh's request, Grom completely banned it and took down the Shadow Council forcing them into hiding. the Orcs we see outland are OVER exposed to point of growing horns and spikes due to getting concentrated demon-blood directly pumped into them, instead of the blood merely being added some sort of liquid and diluted like it was during the original drinking and the blood filled pool in Ashenvale. And the ones in Draenor took it even further and were basically turned almost fully demon by even further exposure.
For what it's worth; "I don't know how she's gained this much power" was also the sentiment from people playing the game, and the characters *in* the game.
@@TNTGamingonline Yeah, but keep in mind that the Horde is really just a place for those who mismatch. Plus, these are undead people who have their minds. They remember their lives. There were those who wanted to bring them back into the alliance. Since they are people of Lorderon.
@@TNTGamingonline The Horde was reluctant to accept the Undead into their faction, actually - as I recall it was the Tauren in particular who argued in favor, and since the Orcs had their own history of being enslaved by unnatural forces and doing horrible things as slaves, some among them (such as Thrall) could sympathize with the Undead who had been forced to serve Arthas (The Lich King) and had now found freedom in a way quite similar to how the Orcs had freed themselves from their Demonic masters. In Vanilla WoW it was described as an "alliance of convenience" - The Horde saw a strategic benefit to allying with the Undead and the Undead needed the military might of the Horde to protect them against anyone who might want to reclaim Lordaeron, which was now the Undead homeland.
The Warlords of Draenor expansion was a weird one but essentially its just a time travel scenario. We ultimately stop a different outcome in game and things go on as normal in the "real" world with alternate reality Gul'dan coming to our world as the exception thats why you see him in further expansions when he's mean to be dead. There are some ingame cinematic compilations but many seem to either be edited in a weird order or miss certain ones that give important context. For a recap explaining the story there are some good videos out there, I suspect new ones are coming with a new expansion releasing later this year. For a full deep dive there are amazing lore channels out there that cover it all but its a LOT of content!
1:00:00 - chat was misreading things, after TBC Illidan died, but his soul was still tethered to his body, Maiev (the Warden who chased Illidan) took his body back to the prison where it sat in stasis. Gul'dan from Alternate Draenor escaped to our timeline after we finished Warlords and helped the Legion invade Azeroth, with plans to revive Illidan in service to the Legion.
Oh my dude. If only you knew. Not only we stop Guldan corrupting and converting Illidan. Illidan kicks Legion's ass and in the end, after we defeat Sargeras himself, Illidan becomes quite literally Sargeras' prison guard.
When Arthas went to Northrend to find the frozen throne, his control over a large chunk of undead including Sylvanas was weakened. They broke free, and call themselves the Forsaken. They are part of the horde. Have been since the beginning of World of Warcraft. There was a bit of manipulation involved, but Sylvanas was called to lead by the previous Warchief.
Re: Sylvanus. She's the only banshee to break free from the control of the helm of domination and reclaim her body and I thought it was fitting that she ripped it apart with her undead body. Also, I think the fight between her and Lich King Bolvar was perfect because Bolvar's "reign" was literally him resisting the corruption of Nerzhul the entire time he wore the helm so it makes sense that he wasn't as capable as Arthas who was fully corrupted (you literally see him switch on the helm to fight Sylvanus). She's different and her popularity has fueled her ascendance in the WoW plot. I really wish they had done more with Malfurion, Tyrande, and Jaina (paricularly Tyrande and Jaina), but here we are.
Illidan Stormrage, commonly known as the Betrayer, was imprisoned for over 10,000 years. His confinement began after the War of the Ancients when he created a second Well of Eternity, an act that led his people to name him the “Betrayer.” He was imprisoned in the Barrow Deeps below Mount Hyjal, watched over by the warden Maiev Shadowsong and her Watchers. However, during the Third War, when the Burning Legion invaded Azeroth once more, Tyrande Whisperwind, the High Priestess of Elune, chose to end Illidan’s confinement. She went so far as to kill those guarding him in order to free him. Tyrande believed that Illidan’s abilities were crucial in the battle against the demons, and she needed him to fight alongside the night elves once more. Thus, Illidan was released from his prison, and his subsequent actions shaped the course of Azeroth’s history. He consumed the fel energies of the Skull of Gul’dan, transforming into a demon, and played a pivotal role in the war against the Legion. Despite his controversial past, Illidan remains a complex and influential figure in the World of Warcraft lore.
28:00 - the Naga are Highborne that serve Queen Azshara, who originally made a deal with Sargeras during the War of the Ancients, when the Legion attacked 10,000 years ago, the same War in fact that got Illidan imprisoned. anyway the seas swallowed Azshara's kingdom, as well as her and her followers, she would then make a deal with an Old God, which is what turned them into what they are today.
I compiled everything. World of Warcraft (Classic) Recommended for context: Warcraft 1-3 Basic Story Summary: Kind of just random adventures across the world without much of an over aching narrative. This version is currently playable on Classic servers, but a large chunk of its content has been cut or reworked in normal version of the game. The Burning Crusade Recommended for context: Warcraft 1-3 Basic Story Summary: Illidan survived his battle with Arthus. Even he was surprised by his loss, but decided it best to cut his losses and retreated to Outland, a broken and crumbling world formally known as Draenor. There he sought to gather his allies and rule over the broken world while he prepared to face the Burning Legion. The heroes of the Horde and Alliance had other plans, together they stormed Outland, intent on defeating him, and putting him back in prison. Wrath of the Lich King Recommended for context: Warcraft 1-3 and WoW Classic Basic Story Summary: Arthus has decided to finally show his hand and wage war upon the rest of the world from his throne in the frozen North of Northrend. The heroes of the Horde and Alliance gather their forces and march on Northrend. Battling their way through seemingly endless hordes of undead to reach his citadel. With their combined efforts he is bested, and a new Lich King is crowned to control the armies of the dead and keep them contained. Cataclysm Recommended for context: WoW Classic and Wrath of the Lich King Basic Story Summary: Deathwing once known as Neltharion the Earth-Warder is a powerful dragon that had been chosen by the Titans to help defend the world any forces that might threaten it, but long ago he was driven mad by the forces of the void and had betrayed his fellow Dragon Aspects, seeking to use their power to bring about a great calamity known as the hour of twilight. While he was defeated and left greatly wounded, he has now returned, and is hellbent on finishing what he started. This version is playable right now mostly as it was with Cataclysm Classic. Mists of Pandaria Recommended for context: Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm Basic Story Summary: Pandaria is a mystical place that until recently has been shrouded in a thick mist that prevent any from approaching, but the mists have suddenly parted, and the worst time imaginable as the Horde and Alliance’s war wages with new vigor ultimately causing it to spill onto Pandaria’s shores. The new Warchief Garrosh’s Hellscream is an orc warrior and hero to the Horde after his efforts in Northrend, but this ruthlessness towards his enemies is only matched by his suspicion toward his allies. He cares nothing for the cost of war, not even to his soul, and will not stop until he has his prize. This version is actually available to play right now with an event known as Mists of Pandaria Remix. It isn’t one to one, how it was back in the day, but the content is scaled up, and is rewarding. Warlords of Draenor Recommended for context: Mists of Pandaria and the Burning Crusade Basic Story Summary: After his defeat, Garrosh Hellscream was to be put on trial for his many war crimes, but received help from a pair of unlikely allies. Wrathion also known as the Black Prince and son of Deathwing and Kairoz a member of the Bronze Dragon Flight. The two know that the Legion’s return is fast approaching and believe that Garrosh’s brutal warmongering ways are their best bet against them, so they hatch a plan to send him back in time to an alternate Draenor before it became Outland, where he can rewrite its history, and bring his new army of orcs back to face the impending threat. Garrosh doesn’t care what they want, but won’t look a gift horse in the mouth. Legion Recommended for context: The Burnign Crusade and Warlords of Draenor Basic Story Summary: Garrosh’s Iron Horde may have been routed, but their version of Gul’dan yet lives and is still loyal to his legion masters. So, he prepares for their arrival by seeking out the body of Illidan Stormrage who has been imprisoned since the events of the Bruning Crusade with the intent of using it as a vessel for his master. While his efforts fail, the legion does arrive, and a war across the world ensues. That escalates until it reaches cosmic levels ending with the legions defeat and the restoration of the Titans. With Illidan leaving the world to face his ultimate enemy. Battle for Azeroth Recommended for context: Mists of Pandaria and Legion Basic Story Summary: After the events of the Legion invasion the world was left wounded, changed in some way that nobody can explain, but a new element has arisen known as Azerite. This mineral has incredible magical properties and the Horde and Alliance can’t help but fight over it, while Sylvanas who has recently ascended to the position of Warchief slowly loses her mind, and attempting to tear everything down around her, starting by burning down the Night Elves World Tree and killing hundreds. Shadowlands Recommended for context: Battle for Azeroth and Wrath of the Lich King Basic Story Summary: Sylvanas reveals that she has been working for an entity known as the Jailer, who is a master of death and domination from the realm of death known as the Shadowlands, and breaks the vale between the realm and Azeroth allowing them access to the power of their world, all with the intent of rewriting reality. To what end? Nobody really knows. This expansion was dumb, and poorly thought out, most people hate the story, and think it existing actively makes the existing lore worse. I kind of agree. Dragonflight Recommended for context: Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm Basic Story Summary: People needed a break from whatever the hell was the Shadowlands story so, this is a fun romp with the Dragon Aspects in their newly rediscovered home of the Dragon Isles. This is the current expansion and it sounds pointless, but actually does a nice job of setting up future plot lines, and is now the starting leveling zone moving forward.
In regards to the Wrath of the Lich King cinematic, it came out in 2008. The very first episode of Game of Thrones came out in 2011. So by the time you are talking about season 8 of GoT with the Zombie dragon and the white walkers breaching the wall, this cinematic from Blizzard had been out for 10 years. GoT was absolutely inspired by the Wrath cinematic.
Warcraft 3 came in 2002 and the Lich King appears there with the same gear except that the graphics were like they were for that time, they didn't had much choice who to copy, to be honest I don't know who could they copy in early 2000's since WoW is one of the first rpg games to appear that early, if not first with such a storyline.
Sylvanas is influenced by a higher power who's goal is to sew death in the world. That entity is the source of her power and that is why she is able to parry Saurfang's blows effortlessly and beat the Lich King. When she breaks the Lich King's helm she also breaks the line between life and death; The other side is ruled by her master. As for he Lich King that is Bolvar Fordragon, a man who volunteered to take Arthas' place forever once he was beaten. There must always be a Lich King in order to maintain control over the undead or else they would spiral out of control. This is the video from the game that sums it up th-cam.com/video/qAIrj_Vqdfc/w-d-xo.html I also recommend watching the Old Soldier and Sylvanas' Warbringers cinematic as they are really well done and may give you some additional context.
Sure, if by 'higher power' you mean the Blizzard writing team who decided to do a complete 180 on Sylvanas' character just so they could make her a villain.
@@cherrickdinn Didn't say I liked it. I kind of tuned out from Warcraft story since Shadowlands dropped. I liked some of the things they did in BfA though, there was potential to make the story interesting but they dropped the ball.
A lot of people seemed confused by Sylvanas' power level, but if you actually paid attention to the quests, all the way back in Vanilla WoW, it's well established (especially if you play as Forsaken), that Sylvanas is obsessed with growing in power, first an foremost for the purpose of destroying the Lich King, but also just in general to ensure she'll never be in a position like Silvermoon during the Invasion of the Scourge, where she'll face an opponent too strong to beat. A ton of quests in the Forsaken faction involve helping the Royal Apothecary Society develop new weapons for Sylvanas, and other Horde quests even touch on how she seems to be scheming behind the scenes to solidify her position within the Horde. She also makes a point of securing powerful artifacts and much more. Yeah, she got a significant boost by the end, but her character had been building towards it from the start. People complaining about the writing just don't bother actually reading anything - if it isn't voice acted, it doesn't exist to some people.
She was always much more than that. They kept calling her Banshee Queen but we had never seen her banshee side since WCIII. But the whole BFA and SL storylines were bad. Good thing Metzen is back to put it back on tracks.
A few additional info: The horde is composed by orcs, undead, tauren, trolls, blood elves, goblins, pandaren and dracthyr (last two split between horde and alliance). A bunch of those were added along the way, but the undead are with the horde since the beginning of WoW. The orc that Sylvanas killed was Varok Saurfang. Even though he was a high ranked warrior for a really long time, he never led the horde. Sylvanas was named warchief by Vol'jin (warchief before her) on his last breath at the end of Legion since she was already high ranked and was queen of the forsaken (undead faction). She made some really questionable decisions (As a undead player, I'll never forgive Blizzard for ruining Sylvanas) and ended up splitting the horde. Some chose to fight with Saurfang but some stayed loyal to her (bunch of simps if you ask me) until she did the "the Horde is nothing" thing. The guy that Saurfang goes after and asks for his help saying they don't get to hide is Thrall. He dropped his warchief title before Pandaria and disappeared for a while because he is green jesus and had to go "stabilize the world". Now the horde is lead by a council that Thrall is part of. Saddly I can't help with the Warlords of Draenor part since I didn't play it and I also get confused (Dropped on Cataclysm and came back during Legion). The compilation is missing Old Soldier cinematic. I also recommend watching the Harbingers, Warbringers and Afterlives series. They're not that long and dig up the lore of a few characters you seem to love like Illidan and Gul'dan. There's a cinematic (although graphics is so good that looks like live action) teaser for the next expansion out called War Within, but leave that for last. Thanks for the content!
Thank you. This was very helpful. I do find it odd that they decided to merge the undead with the horde. I thought it would make more sense if the undead were its own faction. I think I will continue with the Harbringer stories to get more info about the Orcs and their lives on Draenor .
@@TNTGamingonline there might be a confusion. The undead Sylvanas is leading are the undead that got freed from the Lich King like Sylvanas herself. They dont have anything to do with the undead you mean. Sylvanas and her 'Forsaken' are controlling the old Human lands and capital Lordearon that got plagued and destroyed by Arthas. They joined the Horde because for most of the humans they are undead monstrosities like alle the other undead under the Lich King. The Horde was just a bit more open about them and also needed a foothold on the other continent Azeroth, since the rest of the Horde is in Kalimdor. I hope that helped :)
Let me chime in for Warlords, Cataclysm dragon is Deathwing the Destroyer which is one of the Dragon aspects(seen in warcraft 1 and 2 but not as explored) since he sunders the world it opens a path to previously hidden Pandaria and since Aspects lose their power to defeat Deathwing bronze dragon Kairozdormu( bronze dragons controlled time when they had power) decided to open a portal to Draenor in the past before Orcs became slaves to the burning legion and drank the blood of Mannoroth to recruit the orcs as army to fight the invasion of the Burning Legion which is coming as factions are weak from the wars they fought with each other, the big guy with the axe? None other then Grom Hellscream. In warlords Gul'dan from that timeline is defeated after summoning Archimonde(again) since time flows differently in Twisting Nether and gets banished to a portal that leads to current timeline where Legion expansion begins and that is the cinematic where he finds Illidans prison since Illidan is defeated in Burning Crusade expac his body without soul is kept within that rock you see and big idea was to put Sargeras in his body you know the leader of the burning legion and destroy Azeroth. Another tidbit yeah that is not Arthas as Lich King by that time Arthas is dead, defeated by players and since Scourge always needs a LK to keep them in check Bolvar Fordragon takes his place, as for the Horde and Alliance thats just 2 usually opposing factions that allied themselves after WC3 Battle of Hyjal and death of Archimonde consisting of originally Orcs, Tauren, Undead, Blood elves and trolls and Humans, Night Elves, Dwarves,Gnomes and non broken Draenei respectivelly (roster of races has since been expanded).
@@TNTGamingonline During Warlords, Thrall hunts down and kills Garrosh in a duel of honor, which Thrall technically cheats in (since he starts the fight with The Doomhammer but when Garrosh starts winning, Thrall switches and just wrecks him with magic, though you're only supposed to use 1 weapon of choice for a Mok-gorai (which CAN be magic but you have to declare it as your weapon of choice and stick with it)) (though to be fair none of the proper rules were followed to begin with, so it wasn't even a real mok-gorai (i.e. no witnesses, no blessing of the weapons of choice, etc). However, a lot of what Garrosh says during the fight cuts Thrall pretty deep as there is some truth to it, and he feels extremely guilty over his actions and decisions up to this point and this lack of conviction and harmony interferes with his ability to wield/hear the elements and he ends up retiring completely to raise a family due to thinking he's been abandoned by the elements for his dishonorable conduct and that he's no longer fit to call even call himself a warrior of the horde. After some soul-searching in literal Hell, he does EVENTUALLY get better.
During Mists of Pandaria a temporal anomaly was discovered that allowed the rules of time to be bent without creating a paradox, something that was previously considered impossible and that the Keepers of Time specifically exist to police (the anomaly was being studied by one of the Keepers and it's powers integrated into a Device). This device was used to access an alternate timeline that was similar but not exactly the same as the main-timeline with the original plan being to create an Infinite Horde to fight the Burning Legion by making a bunch of alternate timelines and recruiting the Old Horde from all of them without the demonic corruption. However the device was broken during Garrosh's escape from his trial at the end of Mists of Pandaria, and they were only able to access a single alternate timeline (Kairoz hoped they could repair the Hourglass eventually, though immediately after arriving, Garrosh shanks him with the Shard of the Hourglass and uses it to convince the local horde to help him get revenge on both the horde and the alliance for opposing him (and because he refused to be Kairoz and Wrathion's pawn), while also preventing them from becoming pawns of the legion). Using the Shard they manage to hack into the original dark portal and attack Azeroth but immediately get their asses kicked and basically spend most of the expansion getting wrecked by the combined might of the Horde and Alliance, before Gul'dan eventually managed to convince several of the surviving chieftans to drink the blood due to them becoming too desperate to say no anymore and summons Archimonde to Draenor. Archimonde gets his ass kicked, again, but this time pulls the forces of Draenor into the twisting nether so he can fight them with his full power but ends up being overpowered and permanently killed, however as he's dying he uses the last of his strength to grab and hurl Alternate Gul'dan through the portal where he's taken by Kil'jaeden and dropped off in our universe to do what the original Gul'dan was SUPPOSED to do but betrayed them (he attempted to take the power for himself (but made it clear he'd betrayed them before actually getting to the place where he could steal the power) and this pissed off the demonic guardians who ended up slaughtering him and his entourage). Since Alt Gul'dan is a massive pussy, he goes a long with Kil'jaeden's plan and kicks off the Legion Invasion, after which he goes to steal Illidan's body which he's decided will make a suitable vessel for a new Avatar of Sargeras. Because he had become a demon down to his soul, Illidan couldn't be killed and instead his soul was banished into the twisting nether when he was slain at the Black Temple, with the Wardens imprisoning his body again as a precaution against him returning. His soul is eventually collected and reformed and restored to his body after we stop Gul'dan's ritual to use it as a vessel for Sargeras.
The Dragonflight trailer feels different because it signaled a change in game philosophy and was meant as a way to reset after the disaster that was Shadowlands.
Deathwing is the HUGE dragon from Cataclysm ....I still have PTSD from running 1 phase of his raid of running up the spine as he's flying thru the sky and prying off his armor plates without making him roll and throwing you off and dying
1:23:21 *the first reaction in my memory when the author realizes that it is not Arthas who is standing in front of him, but another Lich King, my respect to you sir, you are very attentive!*
I'm commenting before seeing if chat straightened it out for you, but: 1) That's alternate Gul'Dan from the changed Draenor. The events of that time travel didn't change the regular world, but it did give some characters a chance to spill out into our world again. 2) This is Illidan who's been imprisoned *again* after Burning Crusade. So uh. Our Illidan, alternate Gul'dan.
What i like most about the frozen throne is that nobody notices that it was actually a huge hollow mountain ish structure, but during the end cinematic in wc3, you see it all crumbling down once the lich king is freed/struck, which openly reveals the tall spire that remains. Nobody really mentions that, but i like that detail. Also, after pandaria, garrosh, son of grommah hellscream forced a bronze drake to take him back in time to draenor, and he stopped the orcs from drinking the demons blood, but it ultimately led the old gul'dan to find his way to azeroth, and that allowed him to beckon the burning legion back into azeroth.
I don't think it's fair to say "this is when blizzard still cared about the games" and "this must be when they stopped giving a crap" because the only reason someone would work at blizzard as a dev/writer is because they care about the games. They don't pay competitively, these being the games they love is the only reason you'd go for it. Also dragons have been a significant part of the warcraft lore since at least WC2. The narrator, the giant red dragon, is Alexstrasza, queen of the dragons, and has been a part of the world since 1995. The only new character in that one is the stone guy.
I like how someone who played WC3 and has minimal knowledge of WoW can come to the conclusion that Sylvanas became too overpowered and shouldn't have won against the Lich King
So Ner'zhul was the original Lich King. In accordance with the original lore of Warcraft. Ner'zhul was an Orc Shaman who towards the end of his mortal life span defied the Burning Legion (by destroying Draenor and turning it into Outland through the opening of hundreds if not thousands of portals to other realms) in doing so his very soul was stripped apart and fused/forged into armor by Kil'jaeden a high ranking memeber of the Burning Legion (second to Sargeras) a Titan who became corrupted (that's another story for another time though, some sources suggest that Kil'jaeden was the original leader of the Burning Legion back in the early days of WoW way before titans were ever thought of) in any case, Ner'zhul's soul is fused into armor crafted by the demons of the burning legion (never specified who exactly crafts Ner'zhuls spirit into armor though it is speculated that the Dreadlords of the burning legion had a hand in this) Once this happpens, Nerzhuls is sent to Azeroth to oversee it's downfall, and since he is so far from the influence of the burning legion he begins to devise his own ways to thwart them and also in one sense or another destroy Azeroth as well (after all, a destroyed latent titan is better than a corrupted titan in service to Sargeras in his mind) This is where Arthas comes into play. Once Arthas donned the armor he and Ner'zhul battled for dominance of the armor in spirit and according to the best put together timeline in the WoW wiki this takes place over the course of 4 or 5 years before Arthas eventually wins out against Ner'zhul an takes control of the armor and Helm of Domination at this point 4 or 5 years after the events of Warcraft 3 is when WoW: Wrath of the Lich King takes place and Arthas awakens as the dominant spirit controlling the helm of domination and the armor. (though the rest of the armor is never mentioned only the helm, but in the Warcraft 3 cinematics you can clearly see several pieces of armor besides the Helm) in any case Arthas now in control begins to spread the plague of undeath upon Azeroth just as the dreadlords had done orignally for the Burning Legion only he has his own ulterior motives at play in thwarting the Legion as well though they never come to fruition as we (the champions of Azeroth aka the player character, (yes we the players are canon in lore) thwart Arthas and kill him) well us and Tyrion Fordring thereby sending Arthas and Ner'zhul to the Shadowlands where crappy rewrites of incredibly IMPORTANT lore are entirely rewritten to fit the new narrative of an otherwise lackluster expansion 11 (real life years) later in 2020. There. I think that about sums up all the important things regarding the trailers in Warcraft 3 and WotLK.
2:15 - my favorite race would have to be the Night Elves, i enjoy playing all the Races and Classes, but the lore behind the Elvish Races in particular interest me, i've been into the Elvish Races ever since watching The Hobbit animated movie throughout my childhood.
I used to be a huge fan, during my elementary and middle school but sometimes during Pandas, our raiding guild broke and I became filthy casual 😀 as for race I was always Tauren Druid in heart fun fact: Illidan vs. Arthas cinematic is done in game engine, because back then they didn't had enough time to finish full one when game released. Granted that back in the day you had to burn game dics and ship them all around the world, it can be forgiven I think. No 60GB zero day patches
47:37 that character name is Deathwing and from i read he used to be kind being until he was driven mad by the old gods and turned against the aspects during the war of the ancients from i know he created a weapon so can channel all the powers of aspects himself but nearly kills these are bits and pieces i know but from i know is that Deathwings return takes place after the fall of the Lich King.
Since you love Illadin and to know much of the timeline for him after Warcraft. You should watch Nobbel87 video on him. He goes through his whole timeline. He does such an amazing job with all World of Warcraft lore
10:15 - Pride, a truly double edged sword amongst all emotions, it can be a great weapon against any adversary, up until the moment it cuts you instead.
All the lore indicates that Anduin is a priest. Man out here doing paladin shit and they call him a priest. The undead that broke free from Arthas, under Sylvanas, joined the Horde.
I mean he learned to use platemail and equip-swords but he's still not great with them. (and spends most of his time healing, putting up barriers, or mind-raping people). Paladins are primarily warriors who possessed the right traits to learn to wield light magic. While a few of the stouter priests did make the transition to paladins as well (Uther and Gavinrad iirc were originally priests under Foal that went paladin due to being stout and suited for the training, while Tirion, Dathrohan, Maxwell, Turalion, and Mograine were pious warriors who learned to wield the light)), it's fairly rare.
@@ZanathKariashi The original paladins were knights that learned how to use the light (Uther included) as a means to counter the orcish Death Knights. The Clerics of Northshire got wrecked in the First War because they didn't have anyone able to fight. Anduin is going in the opposite direction; He's a priest that learned to fight. He's been shown using Hammer of Wrath as well as wearing plate and using a sword. He's learned to fight from Varian, the comic "Son of the Wolf" insinuates as much. It comments about how they changed each other. (this is just before he smashes a dreadlord with a hammer of wrath). The comic is on youtube, just search for it. As for the paladin lore, the original ones (all the ones you listed, actually) were not just warriors, but did the priest duties too. Sermonising, leading church services, healing the sick, etc. The original paladins were also immune to disease, so they were perfect for tending the sick.
The two biggest problems with the storytelling in the Warcraft franchise are that several major stories are in books and the developers use WoW lore youtubers as a crutch to not tell the story in the game. You are expected to know most of the lore up to when the new expansion comes out while the game does a terrible job at telling you who the characters are and what has happened prior to the expansion you are playing.
I think it's really important to note that White Walkers or "The Others" don't even appear in the Game of Thrones Novels until A Storm of Swords (2000). While Martin may have always intended to incorporate zombies into the story that he initially published in 1996, I truly believe that World of Warcraft inspired Martin and ESPECIALLY the showrunners of the HBO Series Game of Thrones. Consider that the Night King has never appeared in the Novelization. Again it may well be that Martin plans to introduce him in the final books of the series, the show runners had to conceptualize the leader of The Others themselves and I believe borrowed heavily from the existing and very popular World of Warcaft lore. In so far as Warcraft being inspired by Martin, I don't see it. I believe Warcraft is wholly inspried by Tolkien.
The lich king is a bit complicated as to what exactly he is. In the helmet originally is the spirit of the orc warlock Nerzhul, thats the voice calling to arthas, using frostmourne to corrupt him etc. When Arthas puts on the helmet they fuse into one lich king, but there's still both nerzhul and arthas to some extent...until at some point it's sort of implied or stated that Arthas "kills" nerzhul and basically completely takes over (theres still a tiny part of nerzhul left after that iirc tho). And later cuts his own heart out to kill the last bit of humanity he had. (We'll just ignore all the shadowlands retcons where theres actually a third presence in the helmet that created it and frostmourne and planned basically everything and gave sylvanas a bunch of power because shadowlands lore is dumb) Warlords of Draenor is really complicated, timetravel shenanigans. Those are all an alternate universe version of the original characters, so that alternate universe guldan is alive when they finish building that portal and invade the "real" current time. Illidan himself is alive after arthas fight and after we beat him again in the burning crusade because he's become so demonic he is immortal like the demons are and doesnt permanently die. There's a lot more illidan stuff in legion after gul dan frees him but it's all in game. The in game cinematics still miss some things but they fill in a lot of the gaps the cinematics dont cover sylvanas is pretty powerful to begin with, not just an extremely skilled archer but after her death she gained ghost (banshee) powers and dark magic in addition to that. But in the later cinematics she's serving the real "big bad" who made the lich kings helmet/frostmourne, planned literally everything blah blah shadowlands was bad but thats why shes so powerful there Besides the in game cutscenes the Lords of War, Harbingers, and warbringers are really cool shorts in a different style about some interesting characters. Theres also one more cinematic thats just come out a few months ago, "The war within" which is amazing on a visual level to me Dragonflight is my least favorite cinematic, I think they wanted to be really upbeat and sort of start over after the last few xpacs(especially shadowlands) weren't received well, as well as the irl issues going on at blizz with the SA legal stuff and all. But dragonflight itself has actually been a pretty good expansion in game, the story is boring but its "safe" which they needed after shadowlands
Actually Arthas killing Ner'zul is not implied...it is stated in the novel. When Arthas dons the helmet he is put in a room with 3 spirits. Ner'zul, Arthas (present age) and Arthas as a boy. Arthas kills his boy self to symbolize killing is innocence. Ner'zul then tries to merge with Arthas with the line in the cinematic. But Arthas says 'No, I will be the Lich King.' And then Kills Ner'zul.
holy sh1t man 30:45 yes! is what iv been telling.. a night elf demon hunter ritually blinded to hunt demons, over 10 thousand years (!) of expertise would have ZERO problem taking on arthas.. the game explains that Lich King empowered arthas to do battle specifically right there as he was so close to the Frozen Throne but still... the discrepency is just waaayyy too vast..
Bro, way too big. Illiadan has more Battle prowess than Arthas and his demonic energy from the skull of Guldan would've finished the job. Furhter, he didn't even possess the powers of the helmet at this point, so he was still just Arthas with Frostmourne.
back to what i said previously tho ab the helm and the sword those 2 items were crafted underneath icc who crafted them i dont remember but i will find out n add them to my list of notes n whatnot bc i talk ab everything in each expansion n try to find every note n book n clue(ancient scripture) etc in the game for further details n lore based variety to add to my notes, but how the primus got his hands on the craft is beyond me but if i had to guess it would have to be one of his own somehow came to azeroth pre(dk arthas) time just before he travelled to northrend or maybe Arthas even crafted them himself after he cut his own heart out n left it in one of his side embassies beside icecrown which again arthas built n it is his citadel/fortress, i do think arthas actually created the 2 items but then the jailer who isn’t actually the jailer we all know that since he’s actually the arbiter so im thinking arthas was the actual jailer but when the arbiter(zovaal) turned evil when he turned against his own sisters n brother he thought knowledge and the one only person he could attain that said knowledge would be the world of the undead(maldraxxus) n used the primus for that kind of information…when the primus told him of such items and the fact he knew how to craft those 2 items from his right hand or someone he trusted to do THAT mission on somehow venturing to OUR world azeroth n got underneath icc to learn said facts, then silently left azeroth to go back up to the shadowlands to tell his lord, but then when they had an epiphany that knew only if they wanted to have those 2 items they couldn’t recraft it since they have already been ITEMS in the world u can’t just have duplicates like the helm of domination and the ancient(cursed) powerful sword frostmourne, they had to steal it for themselves so when i also had an epiphany of sorts when patch 3.3.5 i think it was came out it wasn’t the fall of the lich king yet or was it maybe it was but if it wasn’t it was def the rise of him, which arthas was got done building his citadel/fortress, n he was underneath icc getting his minions doing his bidding n having his necromancers craft the items he made them craft which was the help of domination and frostmourne which took 18-19 hours our time but for them that would be like 3 hours or so maybe a lil less give or take, next the arbiter(zovaal) used sargeras own minions and dread lords and made a pact with them, all they had to do was fetch the 2 and put them in place with Arthas’ to take up his true destiny, Arthas was evil still but he didn’t sought that kind of game YET!!! YET is all i will say without divulging anything that will well explain more lol. So they in fact made the effort on stealing the 2 items n placed them in their so called “placeholders” n used any technique to lure n provoke arthas in following that destiny, which we all know he did bc he crafted those 2 items his younger but still old self that was a ghost down underneath icc saw those runes before well it wasn’t runes but it was ancient scripture he once came across bewildered he studied that same literature he found n when he followed the scripture down to every word runes appeared making him more so embedded into the grand scheme he had planned for azeroth, so then when he was still underneath icc n came across the runes n symbols he made sure his minions and whatnot crafted his items he wanted to use against OUR world, but ya u guys know the rest anyway.
36:15 this Cinematic is for me one of the Best and most influential cinemating in gaming history.. for year 2004 it look SO GOOD, especially with the iconic music ♥ Also how many of you wanted to play Dwarf hunter after the first part haha.
I understand that someone that didn't play the game and only has Warcraft as a reference doesn't understand the game today, the fact that somany are still stuck with those ideas is what feels wrong, it's been 20 years people, everything has changed, we should have also, but apparently not everyone. I love the game, with it's ups and downs, I've been playing it since 2008 and i'm still engaged
1:08:16 No, that was actually never the case. The Horde in Warcraft 1: Orcs and Ogres. Warcraft 2: Orcs, Ogres, Trolls, Goblins. Warcraft 3: Orcs, Trolls, Tauren. Vanilla World of Warcraft: Orcs, Trolls, Tauren, Undead. After that several more races where added in the expansions Burning Crusade: Blood Elves (yes, the Blood Elves are part of the Horde, not the Alliance). Cataclysm: Goblins. Mists of Pandaria: Pandaren (the Pandaren are also available for the Alliance) Legion: Nightborn (a special type of Night Elves), Highmountain Tauren Battle for Azeroth: Zandalari Trolls, Mag'har Orcs, Vulpera (small cute Fox people). Dragonflight: Dracthyr (dragonlike humanoids) The Alliance races are: Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes, Night Elves, Draenei, Worgen (basically werewolves), Pandaren, Void Elves, Lightforged Draenei, Dark Iron Dwarves, Kul' Tiran humans, Mechagnomes and Dracthyr. No new races where added in Wrath of the Lich King, Warlords of Draenor and Shadowlands. In the next expansion, The War Within, a new race will be added to both factions, the Earthen (rocklike dwarves). As for why there are Undead with the Horde - if you played the Warcraft 3 expansion The Frozen Throne you know why. Sylvanas rebelled against Arthas and the Scourge and her newly founded faction, the Forsaken, joined the Horde.
12:15 - i'm sorry to say, but you are mistaken to think that Arthas was purely good, then suddenly turned evil. Arthas had a darkness within him long before Frostmourne became his. sadly it's a common misconception that fans have had regarding Arthas, even going so far as to say that he did nothing wrong.
Thrall became a Shamane and made Garrosh Hellscream Warchief, Garrosh messed up - Thrall killed him (well other stuff happened but that's what happened at the end). Thrall made Vol'jin Warchief....Vol'jin died and bevore he died, he made Sylvanas Warchief. She messed up big time and now the Horde has no warchief. The leaders of the different Races are leading the Horde together.
I still need to find out how nerzhul works into this since he prolly was the first to steal the helm n he didn’t have arthas’ insights n knowledge n capabilities so while this was all going down n nerzhul became the first ever LK he became over-sensed bc of the voices he heard wearing the helm which was the arbiter and how the arbiter was controlling him was when i talked to u guys ab how the arbiter used the primus for that information all ab the helm n what it actually was n the ancient scripture he knew how to use it as as a mc so that’s what the arbiter did when nerzhul was the LK that’s how he easily broke n became mind controlled then when nerzhul LT came up his name was yes arthas n he alr had his sword frostmourne bc he is the creator of the helm and the sword he knew ab everything of the 2 what power it has how much power it wields n such being as what i said unparalleled and untouched etc no kind of power had this much power before n it definitely defined how smart arthas was he knew what he was doing all along, so when nerzhul’s body was shattered nothing but his voice truly lingered in arthas’ helm he talked with nerzhul n when nerzhul says “we are one” he meant by the creator which was arthas’ n arthas told nerzhul to wear the helm first since he wanted to use nerzhul for his own grander scheme but then the arbiter got ahold of him he used every single method to break his soul n body n he did n he completely shattered nerzhul’s body n again how he did that was again the very same ancient scripture he found out from the primus which the primus found out from arthas so when nerzhul goes “we are one” it wasn’t actually nerzhul it was the helm talking to his creator n master saying that to arthas.
@@TNTGamingonline so when Arthas puts on the helm his spirit is transported to a room that has Ner'zul, present Arthas and Arthas as a boy. Ner'zul convinces Arthas to kill his boy self thus killing his innocence. Afterwards Ner'zul tries to confer that they, together, are the Lich King. As stated in the cinematic. However Arthas tells him, 'No, I will be the Lich King.' And proceeds to kill Ner'zul. The point where Arthas's eyes start to glow is when his spirit comes back to reality after what just transcribed between the 3 spirits.
For those that think arthas is truly dead he isn’t he’s still alive but I won’t say how or where he is or anything that’s for u guys to find out in midnight n in the LT n ofc the next expansion which I alr know everything ab too lol ik every expansion coming up after the world soul saga n what will happen
The reality is that, even though the Game of Thrones book came out earlier, the truth is that they probably copied how the undead dragons from World of Warcraft: Lich King should look
Man it really is good seeing the prespective of someone that played up until warcrsf 3, the way you describe this few las expansions are exactly how most ppl feel, warcraft writers fcked the lore a lote lately, it doesnt feel warcraft like back then, sometimea it feels like they added things without thinking, like an elf ranger defeating an orc in close combat
but yes illidan AGAIN will come back in LT but he does die in that expansion I won’t say when or how but all u guys will know is he will die; I mean FINALLY they should’ve killed him off in WOD or TBC but ehh whatever blizz lol
after the world soul saga there will be a BIG EVENT that changes the structure of world of warcraft n our world azeroth n how it will be of that well, hint; arthas’ inner sanctum in his citadel where it is the whole engine that keeps the citadel from becoming a digestive system that is out of arthas’ reach until he is back in his citadel n on his throne but that hint i was gonna say it has to do w said engine which is located in a dungeon which those dungeons are located at the side entrance on the first level of his citadel there is 3 dungeons in there all 3 are called forge of souls, pit of saron, and the halls of reflection, the forge of souls is where u will see the engine what I was mentioning and after the world soul saga that engine will do something that changes world of warcraft trajectory n the whole universe afterwards(future), but fine I will add this, that engine will evaporate n destroy all life on azeroth even killing the world planet itself, basically giving us as players the foreshadow of starting over on a new planet possibly or staying on azeroth but the world would be vastly different n ever so changing drastically in every zone n continent in mins for us, there will be no pantheon or order ina way the cosmology would be zilch to nothing like it means nothing now. And what I said before Arthas isn’t dead he’s alive n when the world soul saga ends he will come back and return to his citadel I won’t say anymore to that then I have lol, but yes that’s all you guys will get
Watching only the CGI cinematics will never make sense. In order to understand the story without actually spending hundreds of hours playing the game (some content was already retconed or simply removed anyway along the years) its better to just find videos containing the IN GAME CINEMATICS in chronologically order aswell...they are several hours long, u could do a parts series watching them, they can be found on youtube compiled and I can assure u, we will be with u along the journey.
If you liked these trailers/ cinematics, then you should check out all the trailers for Final Fantasy 14. They are some of the greatest trailers I've ever seen. Enjoy!
@TNTGamingonline Each trailer shows a story of you. What I mean is that, yes, the game is an MMO JRPG, but you are the main character, so the game revolves around you. The main character in each trailer is a representation of your journey throughout the game. The game itself, when it was first released in 2010, it sucked so much that they took the game out of circulation, so they had an epic last battle before they shut the servers down. Then they worked on it for 3 years, then rereleased it with their first expansion: A realm reborn. Thus, the game was saved and thrived. Also, each cinematic trailer is an expansion. Crazy right?
@TNTGamingonline Each expansion is about an ingame year or two. Also, you have so many options for creating your character, different races, and customizability. Your character is the only one in canon lore to be able to switch jobs. Jobs are what your character is good at. For instance, you choose warrior as your first job and want to change it to Samurai, you just need to grind up to lvl 50, then you can change it. Also each job has a story attached to it.
Just watching these cinematics doesn't really tell the story, there's 20+ hours of additional cinematics not shown here. There's also the in-game story telling as well as books which really makes it hard to follow since not everyone wants to spend $20-40 on expansions plus the subscription and then buy the 30 or so books to keep up with lore. Sylvanas started gathering her powers after Arthas dies at the end of Wrath of the Lich king when she jumps off of Icecrown Citadel to kill herself since she has nothing left to live for after Arthas is finally gone.
@@priyammitra3113 Actually he doesnt need any more power-ups. If u would read literature about those events, you would learn Illidan didnt took on Arthas seriously at those times, and so he just missed up the moment he should go serious. Yet he survived fatal injury from Frostmourne
1:33:25 Quite the opposie. Dragonflight is a really good expansion. Battle for Azeroth was a weaker expansion and Shadowlands was the low point of WoW (primarily because of the way the main villain was presented which was utter BS). I actually like the concept behind the Shadowlands, however they totally dropped the ball with the story. They ruined the well liked character of Sylvanas - not only did they turn her into a villain but into a stupid villain and that is hard to bear - but also created this super powerfull megavillain out of thin air who all of a sudden was behind a lot of the events of previous expansions which made no sense: The Jailer. And he wasn't even cool, he was just annoying.
LMAO, i've watched many WoW Cinematics reaction videos and everytime they get to the Dragonflight cinematic I just think: "This just completely kills the mood, fucking dogshit cinematic."
You have a little misconception in "He's not that powerful" and "She's not thaat powerful" After every trailer, alot of time passes by. The reason Arthas defeated Illidan was not because he was stronger. It was because frostmourne was stronger. If he would not have held frostmourne, this battle would have been over in seconds. The reason why sylvanas was so powerful is, that she soaked the energy of the Shadowlands and became more corrupted and evil. U missed some trailer, for example the "old soldier" one. Thats one of my favs and explains, why saurfang is like that. U missed the warbringers and the animated trailers that showed, that Sylvanas got warchief from the fromer warchief and then proceeded to burn teldrassil, the nightelves worldtree to the ground, to start a war. And that they lost the war at lorderon because jaina came and destroyed them all. Thats an ingame trailer. Overall solid reaction. I lol'd a bit when you said "but sylvanas is an undead, why is she with orcs", since the Undead is a part of the Horde since 2004 :D But overall enjoyed ur reaction. Keep up the good work!
@@priyammitra3113 I have read all warcraft books and it's explained in the books about the third war. Arthas fuses his power with frostmourne, becoming immidiately way more powerful than he was before. Furthermore is stated "...the sword is able to suck the being's soul into the sword. Frostmourne then retains the memories and skills of its victims" Frostmourne, connected to Arthas made him beeing able to Slay the powerful forces at the sunwell, even defeating "Felomelorn" a very powerful elven blade. In the capaign of Wc3, Arthas attacks become Chaosattacks after wielding frostmourne, immidiately making him ignore every form of damage reducing attacks. It's more than clear that Arthas pre frostmourne, would not have even be able to touch Illidan, after all the power he had transfered to him. You can even check the stat difference in various cardgames and triviabooks.
@@priyammitra3113 This is some crazy headcanon. I already explained that Illidan at this moment of time is a MUCH stronger character than Arthas, soley based on powerlevel. + Illidan was imprisoned for 10000 years. He's an old beeing. Without frostmourne, Arthas would have been a decent Paladin. That's it. He was still young and inexperienced. I repeat: Frostmourne was the sole reason that Arthas was not dead in a second. It's just common sense. When u ask "where did u find this information", you could go to Thrall and ask him "where did u find this information", after he told saurfang that he can't win. It's just pointing out the obvious. I don't say Arthas is weak or not a prodigy, but at this moment of time, Illidan IS on another level.
You can talk about Maiev all u want (btw, "can't even deal with... "shows me that u have not read any books so this is pointless, since u are an arthas fanboy without facts. Maiev is a very strong beeing) but the cardgames, stattrivia shows, Arthas powerlevel at his peak is higher than Illidans only by a margin. Take frosmourne away and its worlds behind. If you have played legion, you know about Illidans abilitys.
@@priyammitra3113 No, you have obviously not read a single novel, nor played the games, nor studied the cardgames. You are like an uneducated guy who wanna talk about a topic he does not understand. I gave u 200 reasons why thats facts and you are like "nah u wrong" And you completely ignore the fact that Arthas said in the capaign BEFORE Illidan took the Skull of Guldan that they are evenly matched. And Arthas was at his peak right there. It's not about liking a character, it's about facts that are stated everywhere. You are not even commenting on my various sources, books, cardgames, trivia, that u are to lazy to sought out. You just say "NAH ITS NOT LIKE THIS CUZ ILLIDAN DI.." It's incredible that u still argue on a toddler level without evidences, while ignoring all of mine. I don't even like Illidans characterarc. I very much perfer Arthas story and characterdevelopment and his power as the lichking. But other than you, Im not a retard and Im still able to differ between liking someone and obvious power difference.
So wow is really inconsistent with established lore, for example, supposedly before they drank the fel they weren't completely evil and even hanged around draeneis (the purple guys), yet in warlords of draenor (alternate timeline) we see that they still plan to invade azeroth after not drinking the fel, which makes little to no sense. the fel was what made them do stuff like r* and k* the draeneis. Either way draeneis were important because in wc3 we see them already corrupted, (broken draenei) but these were them before, and they are the ones that eventually become the demons like archimonde and kiljaeden (2 out of their 3 leaders were turned by sargeras). Anyways I don't really consider wow lore canon more like it's own branch. Warcraft rts games are lord of the rings and wow is the derivative games that come up with their own made up stuff. (also) in the cataclysm cinematic you see a dragon, that's deathwing, he's not actually new he was a thing in warcraft 2
Arthas would easily destroy illidan in a 1v1 battle maybe they’re both tied in hand to hand combat but when it comes to power Arthas easily defeats illidan idk how people can say illidan is more stronger or that this battle was bullshit lmao i mean it’s simple
Arthas is a way better character than illidan not saying illidan is a poor character or isn’t strong bc he is i mean he went toe to toe against sargeras which shocked me Arthas would annihilate the demons and whatnot since necromancy is more powerful than fel in lore fel is 2nd tho in the power scale then nature then arcane n so on illidan didnt kill sargeras bc he can’t bc even if he did sargeras soul could never be perished n the fact that he cannot truly die but if Arthas went up against sargeras n Arthas used his necromancy powers that is unparalleled n his power is that of an old god type power so his power is unbridled n endless n the fact necromancy annihilates fel he could easily use frostmourne n/o tear sargeras soul in half n consume both parts in frostmourne or the fact he can just use his hands n cast spells that fel just wouldn’t stand a chance against n boom ez pz sargeras is truly dead lol, but since illidan is apart of the fel cosmology he doesn’t in fact kill sargeras since he can’t they’re both fel they just equal each other out pretty much even tho u can’t really pin illidan against sargeras bc sargeras is way more powerful than illidan but blizzard keeping illidan for like 9+ expansions is so stupid lol like just kill him off already they killed off the most iconic character in Warcraft history/lore in Arthas in 1 expansion n he started out as friendly then neutral before he went to the northlands aka northrend then pick up frostmourne bc frostmourne was calling to him, and for those that think he was possessed or influenced well technically he wasn’t he did everything under his own influence he wanted to reshape azeroth in his own way/right n if we ever got that grand awakening of what it was back in wrath when blizzard should’ve made the epic decision n right one n had Arthas kill all of us since there was just no way we could kill him especially in his world n lands, like that whole fight n the fact tirion with ashbringer somehow destroyed frostmourne lmao that whole thing was so fucked since it shouldn’t have happened like that since in wow lore frostmourne is more powerful than ashbringer and people keep forgetting the jailer didn’t create frostmourne neither did the dread lords that worked for him at the time that sword+primus(primus was the ruler of maldraxxus) in SL n how the primus crafted such a weapon n helm n engraved those runes on both items was from one specific location in icecrown and ill give you all a hint it is underneath arthas’ citadel that he built n had his minions overlook his workplaces making sure they weren’t slacking or else Arthas would kill/destroy them or just set an example outta to teach the rest not to step out of line again against him. But yes back in wrath the ending should’ve been Arthas killed all of us including tirion now Arthas could’ve destroyed the ashbringer but he knew it was a potential lethal weapon that can be used in his arsenal and having tirion raised as undead he would let him keep ashbringer but it will turn into the corrupted one then he would have his 2 lieutenants whitemane, mograine oversee everything in his name n do his bidding whenever n however he saw fit… but yee missed opportunity for blizzard which was rare at the time, since they never miss usually. But yee back to this 1v1 between Arthas n illidan those that think illidan would’ve won plz stop tryna puff up illidan in any way he wasn’t gonna win against Arthas you fans just gotta understand that…necromancy is way more powerful than fel so again dont think illidan would’ve win or ever beat Arthas lol
"Whispered the name Arthas" hits every damn time
After all these years, the Wrath cinematic still gets me choked up. When the music starts...😭
This is why he's said this is not supposed to be our destiny.
in general, for all interested, Warlords of Dreanor expansion was time of huge retcons and it all became wibly wobly timey wimey stuff
@@ZanathKariashi lorewise the red orcs were incredibly powerful but in TBC they were regular ass trash mobs XD
For what it's worth; "I don't know how she's gained this much power" was also the sentiment from people playing the game, and the characters *in* the game.
I like her character but she seems such a mismatch for the horde. Id think that no one would side with any undead.
@@TNTGamingonline Yeah, but keep in mind that the Horde is really just a place for those who mismatch. Plus, these are undead people who have their minds. They remember their lives. There were those who wanted to bring them back into the alliance. Since they are people of Lorderon.
@@TNTGamingonline based but true haha
@@TNTGamingonline tbh horde accepted undead among them during vanilla wow.
Oh wow!!! I didn’t know this. So is Illidan evil now?
@@TNTGamingonline no, we intercepted Gul'dan before he could be turned, if anything Illidan helps us defeat the Legion in Legion.
@@UltimateGamerCC And it's ambiguous on whether or not Illidan's dead or not.... but Azeroth has a huge star now because of his help.
Oh my dude. If only you knew. Not only we stop Guldan corrupting and converting Illidan. Illidan kicks Legion's ass and in the end, after we defeat Sargeras himself, Illidan becomes quite literally Sargeras' prison guard.
WoW has a bunch of awesome in-game videos, really awesome ones
World of Warcraft (Classic)
Recommended for context: Warcraft 1-3
Basic Story Summary: Kind of just random adventures across the world without much of an over aching narrative. This version is currently playable on Classic servers, but a large chunk of its content has been cut or reworked in normal version of the game.
The Burning Crusade
Recommended for context: Warcraft 1-3
Basic Story Summary: Illidan survived his battle with Arthus.
Wrath of the Lich King
Recommended for context: Warcraft 1-3 and WoW Classic
Basic Story Summary: Arthus has decided to finally show his hand and wage war upon the rest of the world from his throne in the frozen North of Northrend. The heroes of the Horde and Alliance gather their forces and march on Northrend. Battling their way through seemingly endless hordes of undead to reach his citadel. With their combined efforts he is bested, and a new Lich King is crowned to control the armies of the dead and keep them contained.
Cataclysm
Recommended for context: WoW Classic and Wrath of the Lich King
Basic Story Summary: Deathwing once known as Neltharion the Earth-Warder is a powerful dragon that had been chosen by the Titans to help defend the world any forces that might threaten it, but long ago he was driven mad by the forces of the void and had betrayed his fellow Dragon Aspects, seeking to use their power to bring about a great calamity known as the hour of twilight. While he was defeated and left greatly wounded, he has now returned, and is hellbent on finishing what he started.
This version is playable right now mostly as it was with Cataclysm Classic.
Mists of Pandaria
Recommended for context: Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm
Basic Story Summary: Pandaria is a mystical place that until recently has been shrouded in a thick mist that prevent any from approaching, but the mists have suddenly parted, and the worst time imaginable as the Horde and Alliance’s war wages with new vigor ultimately causing it to spill onto Pandaria’s shores.
Warlords of Draenor
Recommended for context: Mists of Pandaria and the Burning Crusade
Basic Story Summary: After his defeat, Garrosh Hellscream was to be put on trial for his many war crimes, but received help from a pair of unlikely allies.
Legion
Recommended for context: The Burnign Crusade and Warlords of Draenor
Basic Story Summary: Garrosh’s Iron Horde may have been routed, but their version of Gul’dan yet lives and is still loyal to his legion masters.
Battle for Azeroth
Recommended for context: Mists of Pandaria and Legion
Basic Story Summary: After the events of the Legion invasion the world was left wounded, changed in some way that nobody can explain, but a new element has arisen known as Azerite.
Shadowlands
Recommended for context: Battle for Azeroth and Wrath of the Lich King
Basic Story Summary: Sylvanas reveals that she has been working for an entity known as the Jailer, who is a master of death and domination from the realm of death known as the Shadowlands, and breaks the vale between the realm and Azeroth allowing them access to the power of their world, all with the intent of rewriting reality. To what end? Nobody really knows. This expansion was dumb, and poorly thought out, most people hate the story, and think it existing actively makes the existing lore worse. I kind of agree.
Dragonflight
Recommended for context: Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm
Basic Story Summary: People needed a break from whatever the hell was the Shadowlands story so, this is a fun romp with the Dragon Aspects in their newly rediscovered home of the Dragon Isles. This is the current expansion and it sounds pointless, but actually does a nice job of setting up future plot lines, and is now the starting leveling zone moving forward.
Wow. Thank you for this
In regards to the Wrath of the Lich King cinematic, it came out in 2008.
Which, in turn, was definitely inspired by the descriptions of the white walkers from the song of ice and fire series. Full circle.
This is the video from the game that sums it up th-cam.com/video/qAIrj_Vqdfc/w-d-xo.html
I also recommend watching the Old Soldier and Sylvanas' Warbringers cinematic as they are really well done and may give you some additional context.
Thank you for this. Everything makes sense now.
Sylvannas has become much more than an elf archer throughout the game. Nobody stood a chance against her at that point in the story.
There are also Vulpera, High Mountain Tauren, Mag'har Orcs, Nightborne, and Zandalari Trolls in the Horde
I'm commenting before seeing if chat straightened it out for you, but:
1) That's alternate Gul'Dan from the changed Draenor. The events of that time travel didn't change the regular world, but it did give some characters a chance to spill out into our world again.
2) This is Illidan who's been imprisoned *again* after Burning Crusade. So uh. Our Illidan, alternate Gul'dan.
2:42 "and a new enemy came AMOGUS" hits hard every damn time
the Arthas / Lk Lore is hands down one of the best lore storys in the history of gaming
@firstGrunt: Alternate Draenor and alternate Gul'dan. They didn't go back in time on the original ("true") timeline, so that wasn't the old Gul'dan.

I never played Warcraft but the characters and story was something i always enjoyed plus Ilidan was one my favorite characters
Liam O'brian's voice as Illidan will forever give me shivers.
nice raction ,dude also a black warcraft fan ..those are rare i think
I'm also a black warcrafts fan though I never played the game but the characters and story was something that always intrigued me
I like how someone who played WC3 and has minimal knowledge of WoW can come to the conclusion that Sylvanas became too overpowered and shouldn't have won against the Lich King
Seemed like bs.
The we’re definitely the most compelling race in Warcraft. Illidans storyline is by far my favorite.
I used to be a huge fan, during my elementary and middle school
but sometimes during Pandas, our raiding guild broke and I became filthy casual 😀
as for race I was always Tauren Druid in heart
fun fact: Illidan vs. Arthas cinematic is done in game engine, because back then they didn't had enough time to finish full one when game released. Granted that back in the day you had to burn game dics and ship them all around the world, it can be forgiven I think. No 60GB zero day patches
Sylvanas is a banshee with significant magical power. She can defeat most mortal warriors.
The raven is Medivh, the Guardian of Azeroth.. i think.
And then came shadowlands and ruined one of the greatest villains of all time.
Any chance for the old republic trailers tee? They’re some of the best Star Wars content about. Keep it up brother

Night Elves is my favorite race
Sylvannas got so much power ups. She only missed to get immortal (because of Glenn).
(We'll just ignore all the shadowlands retcons where theres actually a third presence in the helmet that created it and frostmourne and planned basically everything and gave sylvanas a bunch of power because shadowlands lore is dumb)
Warlords of Draenor is really complicated, timetravel shenanigans.
The in game cinematics still miss some things but they fill in a lot of the gaps the cinematics dont cover
sylvanas is pretty powerful to begin with, not just an extremely skilled archer but after her death she gained ghost (banshee) powers and dark magic in addition to that. But in the later cinematics she's serving the real "big bad" who made the lich kings helmet/frostmourne, planned literally everything blah blah shadowlands was bad but thats why shes so powerful there
Besides the in game cutscenes the Lords of War, Harbingers, and warbringers are really cool shorts in a different style about some interesting characters. Theres also one more cinematic thats just come out a few months ago, "The war within" which is amazing on a visual level to me
Dragonflight is my least favorite cinematic, I think they wanted to be really upbeat and sort of start over after the last few xpacs(especially shadowlands) weren't received well, as well as the irl issues going on at blizz with the SA legal stuff and all. But dragonflight itself has actually been a pretty good expansion in game, the story is boring but its "safe" which they needed after shadowlands
Thank you for this.
But Arthas says 'No, I will be the Lich King.' And then Kills Ner'zul.
the best is to watch the ingame cutscenes you gotta watch them first to be up to date again
the new Lich King is Bolvar Fordragon , after the fall of the lich king , he take the position, because the undead legion always need a lich king

holy sh1t man 30:45 yes! is what iv been telling.. a night elf demon hunter ritually blinded to hunt demons, over 10 thousand years (!) of expertise would have ZERO problem taking on arthas.. the game explains that Lich King empowered arthas to do battle specifically right there as he was so close to the Frozen Throne but still... the discrepency is just waaayyy too vast..
36:15 this Cinematic is for me one of the Best and most influential cinemating in gaming history.. for year 2004 it look SO GOOD, especially with the iconic music ♥ Also how many of you wanted to play Dwarf hunter after the first part haha.
ive been going to each person that uploaded these vids n telling them all this making them aware of everything
Arthas was sitting on that throne for 5 years so yea very accurate guess. 41:44
Its also him already turning evil, because his magic is green.
C'mon now. Warlord's of Draenor. THE best World of Warcraft cinematic period.
Also you should check the in game cinematics ^^
Great video! For the next one, try to lower the music or raise your voice :)
Will you react to all ingame cinematics/ ingame cutscnes too ?
If y’all want me to. What would be a good video?
Arthas is imo one of the best characters ever made. He was never my favorite, but so what? He will still be a great character.
Also i like the demon hunters
1:08:16 No, that was actually never the case.
The Horde in Warcraft 1: Orcs and Ogres.
Warcraft 2: Orcs, Ogres, Trolls, Goblins.
Warcraft 3: Orcs, Trolls, Tauren.
Vanilla World of Warcraft: Orcs, Trolls, Tauren, Undead. After that several more races where added in the expansions
Burning Crusade: Blood Elves (yes, the Blood Elves are part of the Horde, not the Alliance).
Cataclysm: Goblins.
Mists of Pandaria: Pandaren (the Pandaren are also available for the Alliance)
Legion: Nightborn (a special type of Night Elves), Highmountain Tauren
Battle for Azeroth: Zandalari Trolls, Mag'har Orcs, Vulpera (small cute Fox people).
Dragonflight: Dracthyr (dragonlike humanoids)
The Alliance races are: Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes, Night Elves, Draenei, Worgen (basically werewolves), Pandaren, Void Elves, Lightforged Draenei, Dark Iron Dwarves, Kul' Tiran humans, Mechagnomes and Dracthyr.
That demon lord is Archimonde, one of the generals of Sargeras the lord of the Burning legion.
you can't miss the remasterd diablo2 cinematics :D
12:15 - i'm sorry to say, but you are mistaken to think that Arthas was purely good, then suddenly turned evil. Arthas had a darkness within him long before Frostmourne became his. sadly it's a common misconception that fans have had regarding Arthas, even going so far as to say that he did nothing wrong.
All of the Elves are my favorite race
i think we should’ve got demon hunters in TBC it would’ve been cooler n they would’ve looked cooler with the old graphics
Why isn't there the last cinematic of World of Warcraft ?? The War within one ? It was good video and reaction anyway !
it wasn't in the video i was watching. I'll probably do another video about it. This warcraft lore is fascinating.
@@TNTGamingonline Marvelous I can't wait ! I agree with you, the lore is amazing
The Arthas novel describes the scene of what happened when Arthas puts the helmet on. I won't explain in case you read it.
nah, go ahead an tell me.
Medivh is the one that turns into a bird
I would argue Dragonflight is when Blizzard *started* giving a fuck.
For those that think arthas is truly dead he isn’t he’s still alive but I won’t say how or where he is or anything that’s for u guys to find out in midnight n in the LT n ofc the next expansion which I alr know everything ab too lol ik every expansion coming up after the world soul saga n what will happen
The reality is that, even though the Game of Thrones book came out earlier, the truth is that they probably copied how the undead dragons from World of Warcraft: Lich King should look
the jailer gif her a lot off power
Man it really is good seeing the prespective of someone that played up until warcrsf 3, the way you describe this few las expansions are exactly how most ppl feel, warcraft writers fcked the lore a lote lately, it doesnt feel warcraft like back then, sometimea it feels like they added things without thinking, like an elf ranger defeating an orc in close combat
so its looks like sylvannas aka dark ranger is the final nboss or secret boss of wow?after she beat lich king (arthas) is he is that char
After breaking the helmet we played a whole ass expansion about thanos and his infinity stones.. literal garbage
but yes illidan AGAIN will come back in LT but he does die in that expansion I won’t say when or how but all u guys will know is he will die; I mean FINALLY they should’ve killed him off in WOD or TBC but ehh whatever blizz lol
01:01:17
SYLVANAS ! ❤❤❤
thats just not any undead dragon, that's Sindragosa.
welp garrosh skrewd with time line 😅🤔
Yo, brah! Check out WoW - Lords of War, u'll love it,brah!!!!
Dragons have been a part of Warcraft since forever, they aren't new characters at all. Btw there are a lot more cinematics for you to watch.
30:50 - you dont understand: Guldahn i facing three strong souls.
after the world soul saga there will be a BIG EVENT that changes the structure of world of warcraft n our world azeroth n how it will be of that well, hint; arthas’ inner sanctum in his citadel where it is the whole engine that keeps the citadel from becoming a digestive system that is out of arthas’ reach until he is back in his citadel n on his throne but that hint i was gonna say it has to do w said engine which is located in a dungeon which those dungeons are located at the side entrance on the first level of his citadel there is 3 dungeons in there all 3 are called forge of souls, pit of saron, and the halls of reflection, the forge of souls is where u will see the engine what I was mentioning and after the world soul saga that engine will do something that changes world of warcraft trajectory n the whole universe afterwards(future), but fine I will add this, that engine will evaporate n destroy all life on azeroth even killing the world planet itself, basically giving us as players the foreshadow of starting over on a new planet possibly or staying on azeroth but the world would be vastly different n ever so changing drastically in every zone n continent in mins for us, there will be no pantheon or order ina way the cosmology would be zilch to nothing like it means nothing now.
That would be really cool.
If you liked these trailers/ cinematics, then you should check out all the trailers for Final Fantasy 14. They are some of the greatest trailers I've ever seen. Enjoy!
Is there any context in them? I haven’t played ff14 so I’d be going in blind.
@@fenrirlokison6778 Hahahaha.... I just started downloading the game on steam based off what you just said. Now, I feel compelled to play it.
@TNTGamingonline I won't lie, friend, it's going to be a slog until you get to the expansion: A Realm Reborn, but then it becomes 100% better.
Broooooooo as cool as Illidan is, Arthas is crazy powerful, way stronger than Illidan, hes The Lich King for a reason
But lose againts bolvar lol
@@seinmareicher1993 are we pretending there wasnt a full army of azeroths most powerful beings with bolvar? LUL
@@lucasmilano8792 just bolvar and player can defeat arthas.
Does Arthas defeat Illidan then, yes...Illidan now/legion expansion, heeeeell no.
@@priyammitra3113 Actually he doesnt need any more power-ups. If u would read literature about those events, you would learn Illidan didnt took on Arthas seriously at those times, and so he just missed up the moment he should go serious. Yet he survived fatal injury from Frostmourne
Guardian is a traitor!
And then they ruined Arthas as well in Shadowlands.
I'm sorry but you should consider who Sylvannsy was , and why she became the banshee queen. Then you know why she is so powerfull
Slyvanns was never a powerful character even amongst the higher ranked elves. She wasn't on the same level as Illidan, Tyrande or Malfurion.
LMAO, i've watched many WoW Cinematics reaction videos and everytime they get to the Dragonflight cinematic I just think: "This just completely kills the mood, fucking dogshit cinematic."
You have a little misconception in "He's not that powerful" and "She's not thaat powerful"
After every trailer, alot of time passes by.
I lol'd a bit when you said "but sylvanas is an undead, why is she with orcs", since the Undead is a part of the Horde since 2004 :D
But overall enjoyed ur reaction.
Frostmourne then retains the memories and skills of its victims"
Frostmourne, connected to Arthas made him beeing able to Slay the powerful forces at the sunwell, even defeating "Felomelorn" a very powerful elven blade.
I gave u 200 reasons why thats facts and you are like "nah u wrong"
And you completely ignore the fact that Arthas said in the capaign BEFORE Illidan took the Skull of Guldan that they are evenly matched. And Arthas was at his peak right there.
It's not about liking a character, it's about facts that are stated everywhere. You are not even commenting on my various sources, books, cardgames, trivia, that u are to lazy to sought out. You just say "NAH ITS NOT LIKE THIS CUZ ILLIDAN DI.."
It's incredible that u still argue on a toddler level without evidences, while ignoring all of mine.
Anduin is a Priest fyi
Are you kidding?1on 1 Arthas will always beat Illudan, only with Frostmourne
