Well, depends on WHO in the Imperium you ask. Some have more prejudice against heretics OR against xenos (or a specific xenos race). But yeah, less prejudice is still "kill it at first sight".
There's a story where an Imperial Guard used a Tau gun to kill the enemy. He was given an award for killing the enemy... then executed for using their technology to do it
Chaos gods objective: Win over the other Gods. Chaos Space Marines objectives: Destroy the Imperium of Man in some fashion Help their primary Gof if they have one. Complete their own objectives, such as: Build temples, create new substances, create better warriors, win over a specefic chapter.
Think of chaos as less physical and more like thermodynamics, it’s akin to entropy, chaos is inevitable it will always undo and destroy everything you try to build, however in spite of knowing everything you do will be destroyed, that doesn’t remove the meaning in doing it. Resisting entropy is a key aspect of being alive, and what it means to be human.
Dawn of War 1: Dark Crusade is the best 40k RTS game. You can play 7 factions: Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Necrons, Tau, Chaos Space Marines, Orks, and Eldar. The singleplayer campaigns for each faction even has fun arguments between factions
As intalian Warhammer 40k player I can't stop to amire Bickiy's breakdown videos and especially oyour reaction video TNT Gaming. Your exciment discovering W40k lore is what hooked me in all this years! I hope Bricky wll do other videos about specific factions and group, because there's lot of storyies characters and situation worth to be know!
When you read about the Tau, it is heavily implied that there is something going on with the Tau, that maybe the ruling caste is doing something that make them just a tad more convincing. Maybe, just maybe, the Tau are not just good at words, maybe, just maybe, they are not quite as good as they might first seem.
the "evil" side of the Tau is pretty mild. they bullshit their own, they have a STRICT caste system, and the propagandize heavily.... and before you say it, i know that look; "but psy-fly, that sounds like the imperium". you're right, because the imperium does all that and FAR WORSE to it's own as a matter of course. Where i find the Tau despicable is, their alliance with the Nagi; a species of highly psychic sentient slugs. the Tau use Nagi conclaves to dive people's minds an interrogate them, as well as physically attaching a Nagi to a human subject "to commune with you, that we might find common ground and reason together (as evolved beings do) for the greater good". in the Damocles novel, you see an inquisitor who's joined the Tau that has a Nagi in a jar stuck to his neck... and he's unnaturally happy about it. psychic brain slugs telling me how to vote is where i draw the line.
I really didn't like them simply because they are just commies. However, I've come to the conclusion that maybe the Ethereals are being influenced by Tzeentch, which makes them more enjoyable to me at least
That's not really Tau lore, it is the view of some Impetials in iniverse, especially a comisar who tried to explain how humans could want to live with the Tau. However, yes the Ethereals have gotten a lot more darker, as reaction of mockery.
I still play Space Marine 2 a couple of times a week. I'm trying to do all the online missions on the hardest difficulty, lolz. I've only started my Warhammer journey about a year ago. This is a fun way to learn while playing haha
Cadia is was very important planet throughout the time, because of Necron technology that planet contains and latter for humans, the biggest export of solders
Love watching their videos especially with the dynamic of koda being in the same position of a viewer who is learning gradually and enjoying it. I love their Imperial Knights video and the Zahndrekh and Obyron video.
the armageddon episode is pretty entertaining as well. then again, i'm biased as someone who actually participated in the "3rd war for armageddon" tabletop events.
Bro, you have no idea how deep this rabbit hole is. You have around 70 books just about Horus Heresy and that lasted just 20 years. In total you have over 300 books, novels ect. about this world
Personally the best channels for lore is luetin09 The Amber King and Mr Bones 40k as well as Baldermort. For Warhammer fantasy/age of Sigmar the best channels are easily LAWhammer and Loremaster of Sotek and 2+tough Although for some more light hearted content PancreasNoWork is a must to watch
Ill give you an advice because it looks like you like 40k. First learn overall timeline, than take any faction and their timeline a little bit closer and learn some of the main characters of that faction, then do the same for the next faction ( you will not be disappointed with any faction ) and at last start to learn each character and how they interact with other characters. You will be blown away with characters and you can find deep dives in to this characters on different channels like Amber King, Sandman of Terra, Luetin09 and I cant name them all. Enjoy
To answer your question about the Chaos factions, the primary goal of the Chaos Gods is to win “The Great Game”. Which is essentially rising to power above the other Chaos Gods and either wiping them out or something similar. Chaos often attacks humanity, either to try and persuade people to follow them or for fun or any other reason a God might do something. The Chaos Space Marine legions want to wipe out the Imperium of Man and assume control of the galaxy. A lot of them have other goals like the Thousand Sons quest for knowledge but those are the main points.
Some of the chaos space marines, and their primarchs, are loyal to the Chaos Gods, but alot just want to destroy the Imperium or just terrorize the galaxy . Also while the Chaos Gods work together at times they are mostly at odds with each others trying to become the most powerful. Also while Bricky did get Angron wrong he does correct himself in his "Every Space Marine Legion Explained" something to keep in mind is that Bricky is a mix of accuracy and memes, and does get some stuff wrong. But he's a good starting point, in my opinion, to get someone interested in the game so they will WANT to get more indepth lore. Others have recommended Lutein, and while he's stuff is good its very dry and not gonna be someting someome who's just getting into warhammer, and has ADHD like me, can just jump into. His stuff is like a textbook, which again has more indepth stuff but can be hard to just jump straight into if you dont have the motivation. Seeing how your enjoying the world and lore alot you can probably start his stuff now if you wanted.
29:33 abbadon, the leader of the black legion, aka Horus' replacement after he died, 9/11-ed Cadia because he lost 11 crusades in a row and decided to just drive a gaint space craft into its side, splitting the planet. And since Cadia is a planet that keep Choas and the Eye of Terror from expanding, when cadia broke, so did the galaxy, causing a giant rip in space time, spliting the galaxy in 2
While Warcraft was intended to originally be a Warhammer game, it should be noted that this is not the reason for their similarity as with most other MMOs. The reason for the amount of overlap between fantasy franchises is that a good number of them follow the Lovecraft/Tolkien formula. Almost every franchise that is Lovecraftian in spirit will inevitably end up looking like 40k or fantasy despite evolving separately. I have been trying to write my own series for years while avoiding that formula and it is very difficult. It's stealth archers in Skyrim, regardless of how you start, that is what you build naturally evolves to because it is the shortest distance between two points.
The Chaos gods are basically manifestations of every emotion/knowladge/dead souls in the universe. Their main objecitve is to be the strongest/most powerful god so they play "The Great Game" against each other to see who will become the most powerful, but a few times they unite together to fight against people/entities like the Emperor for example because they would disrupt the game they are trying to play (To be the most powerful God). The Chaos gods need war and conflict to thrive and feed on souls. And any threat to that causes them to fight against it. 40K in the basic sense is a Free for All of who's going to rule the galaxy/universe. A rare few times different faction do unite to fight a common enemy at points but it rarely happens since everything is messed up and every faction has their own issues holding them back.
The best way to look at what the Chaos Gods goal is; is generally referred to as ‘The Great Game’. To amass the most power out of the gods inside the warp; therefore having more territory. If a bunch of angry Khorne worshippers slaughter a village, it’s highly likely those souls of the villagers will end up worshipping or subjugated to Khorne in the warp. -- The gods do in fact hate the imperium and the emperor. But it’s trivial in comparison to The Great Game.
Start with Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War. After campaingn dlc Dark Crusade or Soulstorm. In first campaign game will teach you how to play, and in the DLC You have races to chose. Me, and my friends was starting Warhammer 40k Journey from there. 🙂
Regarding the Craftworld Eldar and the Imperium: they do cooperate with each other on occasion, but for various reasons there is a LOT of mistrust and relations are often the 40K norm of genocide on sight. For starters, Craftworld society is heavily influenced by the Farseers, very powerful psykers with the ability to predict the future and manipulate fate. This leads to them being very unpredictable from a human perspective, as they may act based on predictions of what will happen thousands of years in the future. The Imperium also typically doesn't understand the Eldar enough to be able to tell the difference between the various groups - some Craftworlds, like Biel-Tan, are hardline supremacists and just as genocidal to non-Eldar as the Imperium are to non-humans. There are also outcasts from Eldar society and of course the Drukhari, and if you can't tell the difference between these groups it is easy to form the view that all Eldar are hostile. And then of course the Imperium is a fascist society of bigoted zealots (mostly), so a lot of the time they don't even try to play nicely with others.
The way I see the Chaos 4 and why they are the way they are- is that of there wasnt all this polluted psychic energy caused by there being millions of battles happening constabnty across real space , they would probably be different. They are their jobs , not like Greek myths were Zeus , Posideon and Hades voted on who got what to rule. If everyone chilled out and took up meditation you would probably have the same 4 behaving and maybe even looking differently. They are more elemental or totemic of their purpose.
15:50 Not every one of the traitor legions worship the Chaos gods. The Night Lords are one example. They don't like the Imperium, but also don't worship Chaos.
Ork ships don't have force fields to protect against the warp... so often Demons will enter an Ork ship, realize where they are and try to flee but the Orks will chase and kill them. "I'm not trapped in here with you, you're trapped in here with me!" Sometimes Orks will go into the warp and start killing stuff just for fun
@@TNTGamingonline Bonus fun fact: Orks don't realize they're not supposed to be able to breathe in space. So they can just exist in space, on ships with no life support, because through the power of imagination, they have no understanding of why they should be dead
Bonus Bonus fun fact: The Imperium once captured an Ork mech. They went to turn it on and it immediately fell apart. Why? Because there was no more imagination holding it together
Yes anothe rone falls to the draw of Necrons. I'd recommend looking into some of their prominent characters (Trazyn, Orikan, Zandrekh + Obyron, Szeras, Imotekh).

Both Warcraft and Starcraft were initially planned to be Warhammer games (The Fantasy and 40K settings respectively), and some of the old Blizzard crew were very much into the tabletop games. They never received the Warhammer IP licenses however, for some reason or another, and their games came out as very blatant copies of the Warhammer universes . Even the Diablo series takes a fair amount inspiration from the grim darkness of Warhammer Fantasy. And, as we've seen, those games reached an even bigger audience than the Warhammer franchise back in the day. Hence why Bricky adds a little "You really screwed up on that one, Games Workshop!" after talking about Starcraft. This doesn't mean that Warhammer suffered from the popularity of the Blizzard games however. If anything, their mutual existence just seem to have helped each other grow. And in turns of plagiarism, Games Workshop is far from innocent either. 40K is very heavily influenced by the Dune universe. (A zealous empire led by the god emperor seated on his golden throne? Mutant navigators that help with faster than light travel? A machine rebellion back in the day that has caused extreme paranoia for true AI?) Combine this with some inspiration from Tolkien for the xenos races Eldar and Orks (and Dwarves, who are now back to the setting again after more than 20 years of denial and revealed just a short time after Bricky made this video series.) Then there's also the fact that the original 40K, then called Rogue Trader, was created by the same people responsible for a miniature game for the Judge Dread franchise, with a lot of the sculps carrying over from one IP to the other.
Arbitor IAN is imo the best youtuber when it comes to lore. He has not that much like others but everything he has is well for newbies AND people who are longer in. For example LUETIN09 is the king - but I think he is not the best thing to begin with... even MAJORKILL has too many inserder jokes in its videos.
I think if you want a bit of strategy. And you like necrons.... "Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus" might be the way to go (Not everyone's cup, but in my opinion it is one of the better w40k games)
i hate to hate… but some of this guys lore is painfully inaccurate… Angron had butchers nails that was forced in him, granted he made his sons get them, horus is not the primarch of the black legion, and custodes arent space marines… love the appreciation of the 4K universe on this channel though! please keep the content going!
@ Baldermorts Guide to Warhammer and Luetin09 are great references for the lore. I dip into Majorkill every once and again for some good lore insights albeit his style of presenting the lore comes with pros and cons depending on how you view his “humor” and DQVO does some immaculate voice over renditions of some of the most badass scenes in the lore. 40K is honestly one of the best and craziest rabbit holes ive ever come to discover. It took a few weeks before i got a manageable grasp of the universe hahaha!
Bricky made these lore videos before doing a full deep dive himself, and he's gotten better at it since. They're still good for newcomers getting into the franchise, but I'd love to see some updated versions in the future. Luetin09 is by far the most lore accurate 40k content creator I can think of, with extremely detailed deep dives into various aspects of the universe. His videos are long and may be difficult to make good reaction content out of however, but are perfect if you have the time and find yourself particularly interested in a specific part of the Warhammer lore. "The Imperium's worst jobs"-series may be some of the more reaction-friendly videos on his channel, especially if you have a really dark sense of humor... I know people like to crap on Majorkill, but his videos are usually accurate to the lore while the humor and shorter format makes them easier both to watch and react to. Just be wary of streaming while watching his content though. You never know what to expect...
Tau really threw me when they got added. it felt like some designer who really didn't like grim dark convinced higher ups to have a non evil race in the game. they are cool but really dont feel 40k. If I want to play good guys I play the Orks because they are just in it for the fun of war.
The only reason why the Emperor is still alive ia cause the Orks think he's still alive. I think if the Imperium can convince the entire Ork population that Chaos doesn't exist, then Chaos would cease to exist
@@TNTGamingonline No this is not true, it's just a meme. Some other memes you will probably see are the one about some guardsman pointing their fingers at Orks and shouting "bang" after they ran out of ammo, or one about Orks dying in space after one reminds them they need to breathe. These memes are funny, but not true. Orks cannot make literally anything happen if they believe it to be true. Orks often get memed a lot because they are funny and silly, but keep in mind that Orks are funny FROM THEIR PERSPECTIVE. Fun for an Ork is torture and murder, so from a human perspective they are absolutely horrifying. An Ork is a hulking ultra violent monster that will not stop fighting until they have ripped you apart. The best way to explain the Orks powers is that it's like a "psychic grease" for reality, and it gets stronger the more Orks there are. While a human could drive an Ork trukk, it would most likely break down. However if an Ork drives the trukk it works just fine. Ork technology does work, but since the Imperium doesn't understand it they just assume it could only work because of psychic powers.
@tomek1821 erm. No sir Internet has NEVER... EVER.. EVER been a valid source of information! And if you want learn a game like 40k and it's history.. you might want to actually speak to the store and company that created it. Not some made up stuff from some Internet troll. That 1 doesn't care about you. And 2 wants to hurt you or the creator just make themselves feel good.
The eldar are not heretics, they're aliens. Which, to the Imperium is just as bad and deserves about the same fate.

Baldermort is the greatest lore content creator I’d recommend
there is one race missing from this, Leagues of Votann as they where released after this video was made, but you should look up their lore too
9:05 lol he censored her belly button xD
Dude it's just a start for crazy fun stories. Please check out SPACE SHARKS lore or jump on each Primarch story. Start with Conraz Kurze.
For the greater good
I think if you want a bit of strategy. And you like necrons.... "Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus" might be the way to go (Not everyone's cup, but in my opinion it is one of the better w40k games)
Damn, I want me a fleshy hat!
I love the Tau empire for the greater good
Dawn of War RTS games are really good!
You think the lore is nuts, just wait til you read/listen to your first few books... Daaayyumnn....
i hate to hate… but some of this guys lore is painfully inaccurate… Angron had butchers nails that was forced in him, granted he made his sons get them, horus is not the primarch of the black legion, and custodes arent space marines…
love the appreciation of the 4K universe on this channel though! please keep the content going!
Where should I go to get the best info. I feel like I’ve become addicted to this lore
@@TNTGamingonline Weshammer's 40K Timeline is also a good watch
I don’t think he’s necessarily inaccurate completely, he’s just not careful with his words
Y esto es un breve resumen....
Tau really threw me when they got added. it felt like some designer who really didn't like grim dark convinced higher ups to have a non evil race in the game. they are cool but really dont feel 40k. If I want to play good guys I play the Orks because they are just in it for the fun of war.
If you want good in depth lore on specific stuff check out weshammer’s videos
The only reason why the Emperor is still alive ia cause the Orks think he's still alive.
I think if the Imperium can convince the entire Ork population that Chaos doesn't exist, then Chaos would cease to exist
Are you serious? So the orks literally materialize things with thought?
@@TNTGamingonline if enough of them believe it yes they absolutely can
@@TNTGamingonline No this is not true, it's just a meme.
@@EstebanW-zu8xb that's not how it works
@@bluwlvrine Don't disrespect the Green Boyz! Orks don't torture! They Krump!!!
They don't torture like the 'Umies and the spiky Panzees!
For the love of the emperor. Please stop watching random internet videos. Go to a games workshop store and learn in real life.
Why? Internet videos are valid source of information, way more convenient than travelling I don't know how long to the nearest games workshop store.
