Your eyeglasses comment took me down the rabbit hole! it seems they were first invented In Italy around 1300. The first discovery made was looking thru a bowl filled with water, then a flat bottomed glass ball in order to read text. This then led to making convex lenses. Those old books sure are beautiful!

G’morning Pam and Sunny. I am drinking coffee with 2 or 3 tiny bits of paper floating in it. Glue, Nuvo drops and alchemy wax smears on my hands, the end of my nose and on cup handle. I used to be soooo picky, but I am learning Fly By the Seat of My Pants. Also found out the world does not reverse polarity if I goof up crafting and coffee is fine with paper bits in it. 😆 omg… those antique French books are so yummy. Awesome haul. Your leaf jj is great! Enjoyed it. Thanks for the ideas and the company. 💕

Oh my! Holy Crap! I love this idea! I have an indoor RUBBER TREE PLANT and ELEPHANT EAR PLANT dropping huge leaves. At the same time I just won an eBay bid on a 50+ piece of vintage post cards and photos! On top of that I went to Dollar Tree and grabbed my usual stash of random sparkly things I didn’t know I needed. I got notebook rings, adhesive cork board sheets, bakers twine and Kraft paper rolls.
THEN, I came to YOU to look for a way to display the huge collection of postcards w the journal I’m working on. I didn’t want to cut them up since many are rare black & white vintage photo/ postcards. I was thinking “wouldn’t it be great if I could create a botanical type notebook and present it with the journal?” I absolutely knew YOU would be the creator with a 1 of a kind idea. One that I could start on immediately w items I already had!
TaDaaaa! the FIRST vid that pops up is THIS!!! Im gifting a Native American journal to a friend, so the leaves will be perfect! How rare when the universe is on the same page as you are! Orr... at least you and I are on the same page. You run with it QUICKLY B4 something changes. (before a butterfly flaps it’s wings and reroutes my entire evening! As always THANK YOU!
PS: Idk who’s goofier? You or Your sweet pup! 😂.... Or maybe you need to open a window and let some of those glue fumes out?!!
😂 NOoo! I’m JK! I’m having fun w you! Maybe I need to let the fumes out??! You’re fantastic as always! So much FUN & REAL to watch! You just keep doing you!

and I adore the old French novels too.
    They were printed between 1827-1848
and functioned as weekly novels, printed on the cheapest paper, so everyone could afford them.
Sorry, I got all excited, it's my metier of old!!

I was just doing a little research on handmade deckle-edged paper for a project. I love the look of it and adore your little French books. Interestingly, with as much as we are drawn to the look, in the past books with deckle edges were considered of poor quality because the paper had not been trimmed. I find the odd construction of the books charming. The uneven pages and the single area of stitching would seem to support the idea they were inexpensive when they were made. It would be interesting to know their subject matter and audience. Thank you for sharing them. I'm enjoying watching your videos and I am thinking of making one or more of the full-page journals to help organize some old family pictures and odd bits. I love the look of the leaf journals, they are so pretty.

According to google glasses were invented in the 13th century, glass blown lenses. Lol!
This looks fun Pam I have huge maple trees in the yard and thought it would be fun to try one of those. Love those French books I would be putting them on a shelf to look at, super cool.
And Mr. Sunny bo bo is a natural putting that paw up there to get our attention, he is to much. Have a good day and take care!

Great haul. You have such different things from our Dollarama's here in Montreal. I adore the Alice puzzle. Can't wait til you do that video! See you soon! 33°C in Montreal... we're roasting! 😅

Maybe a funfact about your precious french books at the end :) the bookpress which allowed the printing of the books was invented in 15th century (in europe, in asia printed books from the 8th century were found so they already seemed to have a technique.) ☺️

I love your videos. Your ideas are inspired, you have an amazing personality. I always get a laugh from your videos. You help me to see that I don't need to be perfect in my art for it to be pretty.

These leaf journals are the coolest ever! Now I want to go leaf hunting! Your wrestling with the Mod Podge, pealing it from around the edges and then pulling the entire thing out, cracked me up. That's the kind of things that happen during my crafting too. Seriously, these are fabulous!

Such a fun entertaining video. Gypsy moth has eaten our leaves so not big. Hmmm. Maybe I can find a big sassafras leaf. Love this idea. And mod podge. Lol. Modge podge. amazing how many call it that. Lol

Loving your post. Eye glasses were invented in 1317 but could have been used as early as 1000BC. Benjamin Franklin invented bifocals. It's Summer here in UK so only have green leaves available. I have rhubarb in my garden but would have to choose a smaller leaf for a journal. Can you imagine the journal size if I used a large leaf lol.

Good day, Pam! I love, love, love this Leaf Journal! I suggest you can also try making an art from skeleton leaves. It would turn out great if its you. And what do you think is a good alternative for Mod Podge? I'm pretty new at journaling and Mod Podge is a bit pricey on where I live. Thanks and keep safe! 🤗♥️

I am an old Aleene's craft show fan , that said i used brown craft paper( crumpled up ) and drew the viens with hot glue( on the card board) when you rub the craft paper, the viens show through and are slightly raised.

I believe Benjamin Franklin invited glasses as we know them. They had monacls before that.
Love using a real leaf. 😊
