Hello Pam. Walter Crane was a well regarded English artist and illustrator 1845-1915. His style was influenced by Pre-Raphaelites and then Art Nouveau. I agree that he deserves to be better known.
Junk journaling. Just started one yesterday with my 4 year old grandbaby. Never ending fun. So glad i found you Pam. What a gift for both of us !!! 🥰 📚✂️📎📂✏️ no tvs or video games or phones. Quality times with our imagination. Hello 2023. 🌞 thank you Pam. You make my world a happier place 🥰
Ohhhh, you brought back memories of card-making when my son was little (he's 25 now!). Right as he was sitting easily, I put one of those "self-inking" stampers in his tiny hand... I laughed so hard I cried as I watched him merrily stamp away! (I set him in the middle of a huge piece of packaging paper lol). Yes, his onesie was ruined... but the ink was non-toxic & dye-based (it just stained the clothes), but washed off him really easy (tested on me first). By 4, my little dude had his own miniature "creation station". By age 8, he had already zoomed off in his own direction with his creativity, and is now an excellent digital artist. What you are fostering now, even if your grandchild doesn't remember much of it, will stand BOTH of you in good stead over the years to come. Your grandchild's inate creativity will be allowed to flourish and not be stifled. You will have a stronger bond with them through this engaging activity. Your own creativity will not only grow, but expand in ways you never dreamed possible. Children are naturals at thinking outside the box - the only boxes they have (in thinking) are those we teach them to create! Their imagination has also not been stifled yet. (Sorry, but schools do this to us!) See what amazing things this kid can come up with with an "open-framework idea". Like, "Today, I think... oooo, POCKETS! Let's add POCKETS! Teach the basics of the pocket idea.... then watch them take off! You are so fortunate to have this wonderful screen-free time with this new soul to help foster their curiosity and creativity. Every time I think back to those "crafty play-times" with my son.. I cannot help but smile. My heart becomes full and light. To know that he took that creativity and found his own path that requires daily creativity... that's the icing on my beautiful memories. Thank you for sharing! May you and your precious grandbaby have many, many, MANY more years creating, together.
Pam, you are so ingenious. I love watching you work. You don’t take much time to know what’s going to be best. I like that quick decision making. I have to learn how to do that better. Maybe that’s my New Year’s resolution. I never make those but this might be a good one to start with. I’m 65 and maybe it’s time!!!
Walter Crane 1887 was an Author...of books, I remember his name from my high school American Literature class; I'm in my 50s now. & I still remember his name
I think you may be thinking of Stephen Crane, who wrote Red Badge of Courage among other things. Walter Crane was an English illustrator and children's book author. He likely both wrote and illustrated the book she has.
Lol - I LOVE the Llamas! Thanks for a giggle. Oh and yes Jesus' is on trend EVERY day of the year. I am smiling as I wait for the NYE fireworks. Wishing EVERYONE a wonderful 2023
Pam, I also have a real bone folder and am so proud of it. I had a friend who is a Native American artist make it for me, although it was probably his first because he creates flutes from sticks and other things. I had him sign mine. I LOVE my bone folder!🦌
Oh yes the year of the purge11. I like that! We have so very much.. create our little heart out and share with whomever…. Then we can purchase more and create more and more! No more hoarding. You go girl!!!

Ok, Pam, this is probably the second time you’ve asked in as many weeks, so I went and looked it up for you! 😂 2:26 “The actual phrase, which means “diagonally opposite from something else,” is cater-corner. It comes from the French word for “four” (quatre), which was often spelled catre centuries ago. The word evolved in English as cater, which has an obsolete meaning of “to cut diagonally” across a four-cornered (or cater-cornered) shape. No cats involved, unless you have an actual "catty corner" in your house that’s totally devoted to your feline friends.” The saying it differently part is just regional, with the differences explained here: “According to Josh Katz, author of Speaking American and creator of visual maps of dialectal differences, there’s a regional split between those who say kitty-corner and those who say catty-corner. Pam, I have loved everything I have purchased from your shop. Wanted to share a glue cap finding. The regular Elmer’s glue cap fits on the 8 oz bottle of Fabri - Tac. Since it “self cleans” with the internal plug the glue does not block up. The Fabri-tac will still try to escape if you don’t twist the cap but so far it has worked like a charm for me.

I lost my daughter December 1st I am wanting to make a junk journal for myself to journal my way through this grief 😔 I would LOVE to learn. I have SOME supplies but I need more help. Not sure where to start. I made binder journals but I'd LOVE a junk journal.

Hello Pam, thank you for another year of Crafting with Abandon. I sure learnt a lot, had a lot of fun, laughed a lot with you and was inspired by Sunny's puppy wisdom, his pup up dates were a hoot. Loved the way you craft and the fun we always have with you. I want to wish you, your hubby, Sunny and all the other fur/feather babies an awesome 2023. May it be filled with many blessings, lots of love, laughter and a lot more adventures with you in the New Year. We are going to carry on CRAFTING WITH ABANDON. Thank you Pam for everything, you always make my heart smile. Blessings as always from Cape Town. Diana 😊🤗🦊🦊🥂🥂
Thank you for the videos. This my first year of the junk journal. It is all because of you. Your explanation, your delivery and encouraging nature has given me and I am sure many others to just try..it's only paper. I crochet, this is all new to me and I love it. So thank you for explaining everything! Happy New Year to you, Papa, birdies and of course your Sunbun. All the best in the new year. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us in 2023!🎉🎉🎉
Llamas and alpacas are related and both are camelids, but they are different species. Llama wool tends to be just a little coarser than alpaca- which can be super fine
Hello Pam, we someone in our area has llamas. Interesting animal. Love the new kit. Thanks for all you do for us. Happy New Year to you and your family. 🦙💚🤗🤗
Pam darling, many thanks for the wonderful 'presence' you are in my life! I very much appreciate your encouragement, great journal ideas, Sunny and YOUR fabulous humor! An idea for you regarding naming your digi kits...how about 'never too many... llamas, bunnies, spiders, etc '... 😘 A very wonderful new year to you and family! (including the furry and feathery ones - of course!)
Best wishes for the new year 2023 to you and your family !! Love watching your videos. In watching today's video, I was wondering if you ever use the paper clips that you make vs the ones that you use to clip in your journal. It seems you make a lot of clusters but I never seem to see you use them....am I missing something??? I often make things with you and they just seem to sit in my box!!! LOL!! I would also love to know the trick of putting loose writing paper in a junk journal so the lines are horizontal and not sideways. Unless you fold the paper in half which would make a small sheet of 4 inches I haven't come up with many uses....and I have tons of that for some unknown reason!!
Lizzi Brewer, AKA Scrappin Lizzi calls me Lala Lori Llama. I love all the kits and your process. 💖🐞 I hope your New Years is super safe and awesome!! 🎄☃️

Pam thanks for all the wonderful videos in 2022🎉. Happy New Year 2023 to all the Pamily! (See what I did there!). Can’t wait to see all the new fun Pam and Sunny! Pinstagram!!! ROFL😂🤣😂
Had to do it...I got the Llama Llama & Botanical Florals. Great images, especially those adorkable llamas ❤
Gonna get those two myself. 🎉❤
Loved your "swatch" such a creative take on the word!
Love your digikits! The crunch factor of any paper is so satisfying. When did you first develop such love and appreciation for paper? This is a wonderful DIY for journal making!
He his hip year round!!!❤️🙏💪🏼
Thank you for the videos. This my first year of the junk journal. It is all because of you. Your explanation, your delivery and encouraging nature has given me and I am sure many others to just try..it's only paper. I crochet, this is all new to me and I love it. So thank you for explaining everything! Happy New Year to you, Papa, birdies and of course your Sunbun. All the best in the new year. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us in 2023!🎉🎉🎉
I wasn't in to llamas -- until now!😂
Happy New Year! Thank you! This Is a beautiful beginning again!!!
I do like all your printables but I really like the Walter crane what a great idea. See you in your Etsy haha from California

Every time I use my fabritac I say fabric to fabric, fabric to paper, paper to paper!!! 😂
Happy New Year to you and your family!!
Happy New Year 🎆
