    Wow, I'm so glad I came across your tutorial! I heard your conversation on "the Garden Path" podcast which lead me to your Instagram account and now here to this very timely video :) I just planted a ton of seeds yesterday and was not looking forward to buying/using plastic when they need to be sized up. This is perfect, thank you so much for taking the time to share with us!

    Thank you! I now know how to make my paper pots bigger without having to bust out a ruler and attempt to use math :P Whew! Thanks for figuring that out :)

    When u grow your plants, you would water them. When u water the plants, won’t the paper get wet. If not, how do u do it and plz provide with few tips.....

      We overhead water gently with a small indoor watering can. The paper holds up well, I've found, and it sort of develops a crust or hardens after a few cycles of watering and getting damp and drying.

    Maybe I missed it...what size are we aiming to start with, please? Newspapers come in so many sizes, and I can see mine is larger than yours. Thanks.

    I know you used a particular template for your smaller paper pots. What size is the newspaper page for the 4" pot?

    • @SeedtoFork
      @SeedtoFork  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just folded my first of the year. The larger pot is 17”x33”-34”. Give or take.

    Do you plant them in the pots or remove them before planting? Can you compost the paper pots?

    • @SeedtoFork
      @SeedtoFork  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question! We remove the paper and inspect the root systems in the transplanting process and then, yes, the best place for the wet newspaper is as a brown input to your compost pile. We try to tear it up before adding it. It can't be recycled with paper after it gets wet, so the compost bin is the best place for it.

    This is what you use to pot up, right? What do you start the seeds in?

    • @SeedtoFork
      @SeedtoFork  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Leigh-Anne Blaylock yes, I use these for transplants about 3-4 weeks after they’ve germinated and outgrown their 2” soil
