First time watching the channel and I'm blown away by your well-spoken nature on a breath of topics, already subscribed and sent this video to my theologian friend :)

Thanks. I love intellectual discussions. From an educator's perspective, human beings are so interesting. They also need to be loved and nurtured, which is something educators have in common with theologians. :)

I've gotta get a copy of that DCC module. Maybe if I do a Goodman Games order in the new year, I'll tack it on.
Wise Woman looks interesting. Seems like a game that could have some very useful info if I ever got Ars Magica back to the table and set it in that region of Europe.

I'm trying to fine out exactly how this plays. Ongoing rpg with game master? Rpg themed card game quick to play on a game night, etc.
I would like know how this game might be usable to me and my club. Their website has no details on such logistics? 😢
I am so wanting to try this but can't bring myself to buybut unless I know how to play.

Real life religions in my ttrpg game play is something that makes me so uncomfortable. It's a minefield of potential issues that I just don't want to deal with. Dread and angst would be fitting emotions for me personally that would cause me to start doing what you apparently, which is chewing my nails to the nub. I don't need that and don't want to deal with the fallout of someone going off on me if I ran anything like this. I personally seek immersion and escapism and not being thrust into the middle of real world politics and religion when I game. That's just me, and I have a hard time understanding how others would enjoy dealing with these potential conflicts and drama, which just mentally and physically exhaust me anymore.

I appreciate some parts of your comment, because this may be the closest we get to meeting of the minds on this issue. The very short answer is that NOT talking about it is mentally and physically exhausting for other people! They view not talking about it as a form of denial/repression that (in the view of people who prefer to talk about it) treats issues that are important to people as if they don't exist. Note that neither perspective is wrong in of itself. It just is. People prefer different levels of engagement in their lives. There isn't a "right" answer, other than which compromises people are willing to make to sit at a table together. It feels to some gamers that one side (those of us who want to talk about it) are expected to compromise when the other side doesn't have to. This further irritates those on this side. Many people view "enforced politeness" as a form of tone policing. No one may intend it that way, but ultimately intentions don't matter. Many people recognize how tone-policing has been used as a way to maintain dominant hierarchies, and they don't appreciate that vibe in gaming spaces. Thanks so much for the cheap shot at my nail-biting, which is a symptom of my anxiety disorder! It seems like you don't want anything at your table that makes YOU uncomfortable, but you have no problem taking shots at other people when engaging on an issue? The "rules" of tone that you want to enforce can't apply only to other people. Part of the social rift that exists in the hobby, in my experience as both a gamer and a human, is the difference between people who are considerate of other's desires at a gaming table, and those that only pretend to be considerate, or are inconsiderate because they don't feel the need to learn about other people's needs. I encourage people to become more self aware of their social perspectives. It influences how you are perceived at gaming tables, whether you realize it or not.
