It's amazing to see how genuinely happy she gets when she catches a fish. It all can be seen in her smile and eyes.

Her name is definitely Hannah. She said "we're back out here".....LOL Not surprised you were not able to understand her with her thick accent. Also, we don't eat the big ones.....the smaller cats are much better eating!

At 4:35 you say "I wonder if there is another type of beast in there" They are in a river where 800 pound Alligators as well as deadly snakes and huge snapping turtles that can take your whole hand off are all very common LOL.

Yeah, but those aren't going to be back in the holes the fish are in. Those need to breathe air & there isn't any in those holes in the banks.
If there were any snapping turtles or gators out there, they'd be on the banks or on logs or downed trees & would be visible. You know that as comfortable as these folks are in this environment they'd notice anything that would be a danger to be around.

@@patriciab8876 They hang out on the banks a lot though so unless you are poking at holes in the middle of the river the banks are high risk. Snakes especially like the twisted roots and low hanging branches on the banks.

Grandma tried to teach my brother and I how to do this back when we were kids back in the mid 1970s. Mom put a stop to it when a water moccasin crawled around my arm when I was near the bank. Still remember the look on my mom's face, priceless. We had catfish push the 80lb/36 kilo mark.

  • @RyanESmail

Basically the “arm through the gills” part is after the fish bites you, you’re just using the “through the gills part” as better control of something so big

Find the hole/lair cats dig to lay in - stick your hand in there and boom - the cat clamps down , wont let go so you can pull him on out - noodlin baby - now get the fryer goin and some beer on ice

Oh, and Hannah Barron is a beast in every facet. She has videos not only about noodling catfish but also to normal farm work, what it’s like to lay down 500m of piping in 100F heat to lifting heavy machinery; she’s pretty much an all around southern bada**

  • @neoncatfish4038

They are not putting their hands or arms into the gills of the fish! There is a gill plate, that protects the gills! These catfish that thing was catching, we're pretty calm! She has caught some that has thrown her all over the place! You would think it was going to take her arm off! Her dad has pulled muscles in his arms because of the catfish! Hannah's dad was the one holding the little kid at the last!

That's Hannah, and she said "We're back out here", not that she's Rebecca.
She puts a foot on each side of the hole in the bank so she can have better leverage.
Those giant fish are too old to eat, and catching them is for sport. Actually, some people might eat them as I can't speak for everyone, but in my family, they say they're too old and won't taste good. We only eat those grown on a catfish farm, not caught in the river. They'll catch them from the river and put them back.
The inside of a catfish's mouth is said to be rough like sandpaper.
Catfish can "talk". They make a very low "growling" sound, but you have to get close to hear it. I posted about this under someone else's reaction video, and one other person said they've also heard them "talk". 🙂
As children, my brother and I used to like to hear them, but my grandmother was freaked out and hearing the sound once was enough for her.😄
