      No you don’t have to learn Finnish or Swedish if you want to work in Finland. This is the best part about it. Most people in Finland speak English and in cities like Helsinki 90% people do. In companies mostly they communicate in Finnish and English so not a problem.

    Hey man, first things first, thanks for making video(s) like these.
    However, if we are being realistic, european economies are not doing well at the moment. Its tough out there for folks in Germany and UK, two of the biggest economies in Europe.
    I seriously doubt if it would be any easier in Finland esp with a tough language. I have given it a shot and I am yet to hear from any of the places I have applied. Maybe its the domain I am applying (Insurance) but who knows.

      Would you mind sharing this:
      What kind of difficulties have you thought about being there, while searching for jobs in Finland while being in India?
      The obvious one is of course physically meeting people, but that is rarely relevant in the early phase, which can be described as searching.
      Later in the recruiting process physical meeting and visiting might be needed or preferable.

    • @dr_bagpack
      @dr_bagpack  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@just42tube The main problem which I faced is I did not have any contacts so I had to rely on job posts. I had to be very patient with the process as it takes quite a lot of time to finish with interviews to getting selected.

    • @just42tube
      @just42tube 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@dr_bagpack
      Not having or not having significant contacts is probably the situation for most people living in Finland too. Networking is taught for all people and there are also hiring or networking events , where companies and unemployed or other interested people meet and start building contacts. Basically sharing information.
      Participating to these is probably practically impossible, if you don't live somewhere close.
      Learning about some possible open positions even when they aren't made publicity knowing, is clearly an advantage for those who are networked within companies and the field.
      A big part of hiring is done using existing knowledge of the people in the field. They don't have to be in Finland. They just need to be known people in the company or by the recruiting agency.
      This is not very relevant for all job positions, but for those which are seen as more important.
      I was trying to put my words in my previous comment to ask about finding jobs, which I interpreted to mean learning about publicly listed open job positions or companies welcoming open applications without specific open positions.
      But I understand it can be interpreted to include the whole process of becoming employed.

    Heyy what's the job scenario for cyber security over there?? I am thinking of pursuing Masters

    • @dr_bagpack
      @dr_bagpack  9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @dublinnnn Sorry I can't answer job specific questions. It's too niche.😅 But I believe cyber security is one of the hot topic and should have good job future. 😊

    • @just42tube
      @just42tube 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I think that compared to the high expectations, cyber security companies have not been as successful and profitable as expected. Also the in-house job market has been less hot. But at an individual person's level , your own skills, experience, etc. matter more than some overall labor market situation even in a narrow sector.
      It's typical in a changing technology sector that things and businesses are in change. Cyber security covers many things. Many skill sets, etc.
      While studying Master's in this field, like in most fields, you need to follow how technologies and business change and become familiar with the needs and trends in the field. Having master's degree in the field is a way to become considered for employment. But you need specific skills or qualities to become selected.

      @@dr_bagpack
      I wouldn't call it deep insight. I would call it just experience from watching the IT field for many decades. The overall labor situation in a subfield seems to have more relevance for people entering the field. It's understandable that they would like to see more predictability and job security.
      In reality there are more changes ongoing always. And changes come with job opportunities for some and bad news to others.
      It takes effort and sometimes good luck to keep your skills relevant and to manage to be in the right organisations to benefit from changes.
