Love how Coma Doof only attacks Max because he took his guitar. Then he immediately goes back to playing as if nothing happened the very moment he reclaims it. "Married to the job" doesn't even begin to describe it.
If you notice when he took the bag off his head and the guitar went back into his hands, that raider has been playing guitar like that since birth, blind, and childish expressions as it latches back on to it, it knows nothing but to play the guitar once it is in its hands, thats deepsm the director is crazy. Just like when the fat guy with the fat foot killed the woman, he climaxed in the scene. Before that he was twisting his nipple piercing every shot. He was very sadistic.
One thing about Immortan Joe is that you’ll never see him riding without his own badass music. Seeing this entire movie in theaters was absolutely incredible. The practical effects, the stunts, and the aesthetic should be done more.
When I first watched this, I remember expecting Doof Warrior to turn out to be a major obstacle for Max and a really tough fighter (maybe due to his outfit and design), but then he didn't even WANT to fight Max - but instead of being disappointed, I had even greater respect for the character than before.
all he cares for is his guitar now it's like his child take it and he'll fight back for it now but also hes been playing it since birth and it helped him see through ecolocation now since he was born in a cave without his eyes now
1:03 pure and absolute beauty. Monster truck throne car roaring in front of a nitro-boosted war machine driven by a warlord with horseteeth on his mask. I have no words to describe how much I love this movie.
It's a latch attached to the accelerator that locks it in it's current speed, ensuring the rig maintains it without her pressing the pedal; neither speeding up nor slowing down.
2:11 The fight on the doof wagon is underrated, one slip and Max is going under probably 20-30 tons of steel. The two dudes that's trying to pull him down almost killing him, and almost being smashed like a fly between basically two walls. It's such a underrated fight.
@@josehernandez0202 Really!? Half the time I replay this clip just for the guitar parts because they're not in the soundtrack... At least not the one have.
this movie was incredible all the way through. I don't know how they pulled it off. almost any part could have faltered and made the movie cheesy or corny. But insead everything is a masterpiece. Including, somehow, a fight with a guitar flamethrower.
The War Rig can literally take some big hits like in the motorcycle scene you see the engine has been bombed but it's still good intact, and it has a lot of mechanism like the pedal the front. That's what I loved about the War Rig it's so strong and badass at the same time. I wish I could own that someday. XD
I disagree with every single thing Immortan Joe has ever done EXCEPT getting an entire rig with a full band to ride alongside him as he rides into battle. I respect the hell out of him for that.
Doof Wagon is my favorite vehicle. Rest in Peace, Hugh Keays-Byrne. You did a great play of Immortan Joe. A pity it was the last movie you were acted...
This movie is super underrated man, I just watched it for the first time and can't believe I haven't seen it sooner, it's been out for 5 years almost 🤯 the action and CGI is amazing
I like how they show the bikers reacting to the People Eater's big rig blowing up. With their main fuel source depleted, the fleet will not be able to turn back after the pass is blocked off by Nux, because they won't have enough gas to skirt the wall of mountains, which the Valkyrie said takes two weeks. I think the inclusion of the shot of the bikers right after the explosion serves to remind us that the bikers will set upon the remaining forces after the pass is blocked, thereby eliminating any possibility of them getting back to the Citadel. And the bikers will get a lot of loot!
I don't think that's the reason for the shot at all. To me its purpose is to show the audience that we've returned to the mountain pass that we saw previously in the biker chase scene. That sets up the whole "wall of rocks blocking the only pass through the mountains", so it doesn't come totally out of nowhere. Once Joe and Rickus are dead and most of the fleet is totalled, the audience isn't expected to think "oh, and now our remaining baddies will be unable to reach the Citadel because they don't have enough gas because of how that big rig blew up 15 minutes ago and it takes several days to drive around the mountains." Like, no. Joe dead, Rickus dead, fleet totalled = good guys win.
@@MrInkblots Well the audience is allowed to put two and two together, isn't it? It's not a coincidence that the shot of the bikers occurs with the rig explosion in the background. That's one of the main things with this film, the subtle implications through visuals and sound. The biker shot is indeed a reminder of where we are, but it can be seen as more. The audience isn't expected to be so dumb that they need to be shown the bikers in order to remind us that we're at the canyon. It's been clearly established that the good guys are headed for the canyon that they came through earlier. The shot at 1:51 is sufficient to establish that they've entered the it. Why show the bikers at all if they're not going to serve some purpose in the coming events? In the shot of them reacting to the explosion, the rock drop/pinch point spot is ahead of them. So they'll be all over the trapped War Boys once the pass is reblocked. Give this film more credit for its subtle implications. Like no, it's not just "good guys win." Dead leaders and a rolled rig isn't enough for us to feel that our heroes are safe. The fleet still has vehicles capable of getting the War Rig out of the way and plenty of men to retake the citadel. But since we've been shown that the bikers are in the area and aware of what's going on, that's how we can be sure that it's all good.
I 100% stand by what I wrote. You may want to read way more into it, but that's not the main purpose of the shot. You said the bikers are not necessary to remind the audience where we are, but I would say that it definitely is when its been over an hour since the audience has seen this location, and aside from that little rock archway, it isn't that memorable. Remember that the typical audience member who they need to cater to has never seen the movie before, is likely not some huge Mad Max fan paying attention to every detail, and doesn't necessarily have great memory.
If only i was still a kid watching this especially on 0:28 back then. Even now i feel like a kid watching the chase scene from bird view. That was really awesome.
The best thing about this scene is that they actually took the People Eaters Limousine out to a separate part of the desert and blew it up and just edited it in to the middle of the scene
>be bungiee guitar guy >some idiot steals my guitar and makes a halftime show out of beating people with it thats pretty neat >he fucks off >get my guitar back >start shredding again
Except the rifle wasn't loaded. In an earlier scene she shot one of the boarders off the War Rig, and started muzzle loading it, but another boarder came at Max before she was finished, he needed a weapon, and he grabbed the rifle off her and shot the ramrod through him, so without a way to reload the gun again it was only really good as a club.
