- This is a engine from a 312d Sprinter, 5 cyl DI EDC system BUT we have made it 100% mechanical. Here we show the complete procedure regarding timing a VP37 / VE pump on these engine, you can also use this movie when swapping pumps on E290 Turbodiesel

Can you do something to the original pump for more power? Or is the original pump junk?

No, that won't work, there is no place to mount the governor on the electronic VE. You need a mechanical VE housing, and use the om602 camplate, roller holder and hydraulic head. The roller holder needs to be modified, one roller removed to clear the governor
Much easier to fix the electronic pump, mechanical pump is good for swaps

Petar wrote. It dont work. We do these conversions when you put this engine in another applikation. For ex gwagen or like this in a older MB 310

I have a question . Two screws holding the injection pump or broken at that moment started to smoke and go off. I gave the pump down and I gave the maximum left wheel goes ok it does not smoke anymore but it does not have the wind and it sounds very tangy how can i set up and I pump to go as before

But i would like to ask a question , i have the same engine from sprinter 312d 2.9td , and we did the same like you showed in the vídeo .We made the engine completey mechanic and we took out Egr valve,we don't use any sensors but we still using the turbo.But When we run the vehicle, we can't reach more than 100km/h..Do you think that is because we took out the Egr valve? Or what do you think that is happening,please if you can help me let me know. Thank to you and your Team..

Hello! I have a MB E290 TD with om602.982 engine. I have a big problem: the car sometimes go lively, sometimes slow and don't have any boost. When run good, the boost about 1bar but after a few km the boost is cut off and the max rpm is 3k. Any idea for the problem? I has air bubble after the fuel filter, is problem or not?

Bendegúz Tánczos Common fault is that the pump house is worn out so the rollers inside is stuck in the house when the pump shall advance the timing by the valve.
the ecu is cut the boost? when i park downhill for about 5 min again has boost, when no boost the vacuum control valve dont give any vac to actuator.

I have a w210 with the engine 290td and pump injection leaking at the distributor head and the actuator .... do you think I can change the seals with the pump in place on the engine, how to take the markers for the position of the actuator .... for that of the dispensing head I will not remove it, but just unscrew to reveal the seal ....

Hi I do not recommend that operation in the engine. Usually the front seal on the driveshaft needs to be replaced

How did you manage to release the fan? Having same issue as u had around video 4 minute mark but you cut the video section where you got the fan off. Can’t seem to undo fan even with air tools.
Rory T Seddon the fan uses left hand thread, I also struggled for the first few minutes before discovering

Tenho uma sprinter 312D e quando está fria trabalha perfeitamente mas passado 10 minutos quando acelero o acelerador deixa de funcionar e a carrinha fica só em relanti e liga a luz do edc. Consegue me ajudar?

Mani M Your engines common rail. Injection timing is dictated by the ecu. You can’t adjust timing mechanically

Could someone please tell what's causing some harsh vibrations on an OM 605.960 ERE when it gets to nominal working temperature (80C-90C), as soon as I turn the AC on the vibrations stops or become unnoticeable. Noticed that the more electricity I draw from the engine the less vibrations I get, I mean even turning the lights on reduces the vibrations proportionally.

GeorgeM987 good question, i thought early 602s had an inline and that it was what mechanical 605 guys ran. But here in the states we didnt get the 605 so im not sure.
The 605 IDI have to long injection time compared to the VE for DI engine, thats why. Also the high pressure pipes dont fit, these are M12-M14 IDI are M12-M12
dieselmeken thanks for the answer. i completely overlooked that this .982 was a DI engine. I was thinking 602 pump on 605 was the same as 603 pump on 606. Learn something new every day!

I dont't know the best one. My experience with bosch inline pump from om601 2.3l (108d) is really good. Beter performance than before, more power, less consumption. Only problem is bonanza effect beetween 1500rpm and 2000 rpm

Possible yes, but way to much work with that transmission in 2,0 Dti engine

which iveco build with these pumps?
We only use the mechanical housing from Iveco, the rest is VP37 from OM602.982 + alot of magic.
We use any 2,5 or 2,8 Iveco as donator, there is no "bolt on" for these engine, needs to be custom made

In this engine yes, stock injectors are OK to 170-180 hp after that you need bigger nozzles. Yes we have bigger nozzles
