Unfortunately, many bands have members with such huge egos that former members would find them insufferable to work with again. Also, depending on the role, there'd be too much duplication (two drummers, two bassists, three or four guitarists, etc). Three Days Grace and Helloween are unique in that they found a way to make multiple singers work, and both sides put aside their egos to work together.

I found this fact out sometime last year I was listening to scared on Apple Music and Matt was credited and I thought it was cool he helped on the first album.

Agreed! I've liked the band with both lead singers and I'm absolutely stoked they're all coming together to create music again! I had no idea that Matt helped with some TDG songs/albums before becoming part of the band officially. The rock paper scissors part was hilarious too, really shows they work well as a team.
I think what helped them get together and not make it personal was the fact that Matt knew the band like family BEFORE ever taking over. It doesn't feel like Adam is coming back to his old band and his "Replacement" but rather coming back to his old band and his old friend Matt. It feels more like Matt just grew up and stepped into Adams shoes while he was gone. It feels like Matt was apart of the band from the start if you think about it.
Very proud they are back and it’s great Matt is staying !!! Adam and Matt are awesome!!! I can’t imagine what the tour with them both fronting will be epic!!!!!

This is some of the most exciting musical news I've heard in a long, long while. What is so spectacular is well these 2 vocalist get along with each other. Matt Walsh is the younger brother of Three Days Grace bassist, so him & Adam have had a long association for many many years, they know each other very well, they both have deepest respect for the other. I loved the old Three Days Grace lineup, I always felt Gontier was their deepest strength as a band, his voice was unique & powerful , he didn't sound like many other vocalists. His musical abilties were very apparent, & it didn't hurt, that he's damn good lyricist too! When he left Three Days Grace, the band was good, but just not the same anymore, I loved the original lineup, Matt has done a stellar job, & now he will continue to with Adam, how cool is that. This band once more will be a force to reckoned with, Three Days GraceX2, is the offical new name of the band, it's been confirmed.

3DG was a massive part on my early teenhood (Teenagehood? Idk, english ain't my first language) and seeing the best of both worlds come together makes me feel in such a weird way. Like, it's strange, but so damn exciting too, teen me would be genuinely shaking rn, in a good way.
Reminds me a lot of Killswitch having Jesse and Howard both sing on The Signal Fire, and it's absolutely one of the best KSE songs. Takes all the best parts of both of their styles and smashes it together. This seems to be what is going to happen going forward with 3DG, which is wonderful. It also will help people who shelved the band when Adam left to get more into Matt's vocals and hopefully help give them a resurgence in popularity for their albums with him.
