I agree with you, sensory pollution has become so severe in the 21st century that essentially anyone living in an urban environment is sacrificing their well being. Kind of sad too because cities could actually be really great if we just didn't have noisy cars, insanely bright street lights, and maybe some more natural spaces. I live outside of Boston and its definitely a sore point in my life...

You have a great teacher and very fortunate to be learning many trades from your teacher that will last you your life time also being able to be very independent. Hopefully with more time and experience under your belt you will go on and teach other young women to learn some if not all of the trades, farming, cooking, etc into classes that you can teach and share with young and older woman some day. But most importantly is how to be independent and the confidence that comes with the independence. Keep up the great work. I learned some wiring and building when I was about your age and it brought back some great memories of being up on the roof with my Dad and Uncle. I will be soon be 73 and have never regretted a minute of learning those things. You are going to be so well equipped for the rest of your long life.

I’m so glad you’re learning these things from your father. The world is getting crazy all over. And your father is teaching you to be prepared. I know my father taught me a lot. And then my second husband taught me a lot. It is 73 years old I can’t do some of the physical things that I used to do which I see you do now. I miss the long hikes in the mountains. I was fearless and thought I could do anything or build anything. But this time in my life my strength is starting to say goodbye. But it does not mean I give up. This last spring I learned how to garden a little bit. This coming fall I’m going to produce a lot more because I’ve learned so much. I’m in a much different climate than you are summer months you can’t grow here it gets between 120 to 130°. So the middle of September I will start planting is when I was told to do it. Will get a late freeze end of December 1 part of January. But our weather here is where the snowbirds come for the winter from Canada and all over the northern part of the United States. Too hot in the summer but it’s beautiful the rest of the time of year. Keep doing what you’re doing and keep sharing thank you

We bought a 100yr old house 20yrs ago and my Dad helped us rewire the whole house and many other jobs/renovations to bring it up to good living conditions. The relationship you have with your dad reminds me of the relationship I have with mine and it's irreplaceable!
