You never realize how much stuff you have until you move. Look forward to seeing the new projects, the new ideas and the visions that the new shop brings.
I set mine up with a “cleanliness gradient.” I hate dusting off vehicles all the time, so they’re all the way on the clean side, next to time are tools that don’t make a mess, like tool boxes, brake, slip roll, etc. (Good to have the boxes next to the vehicles anyway.) Then after that, tools that make chips, the mill, the drill press, etc. Then finally off in the corner, tools that make dust, grinders, sanders, etc. So I can keep the big mess stuff in a tight little area that’s easy to clean. Obviously you can’t perfectly do it, because it’s silly to make yourself walk all the way across the shop for a tool you need all the time, but it’s a good place to start.
Outstanding! Saw the preview in my email! Hard work really does pay off! This couldn't have happened to a better set of mates! Congratulations! I must confess, I had a tear in my eye saying goodbye to the old shop, and another tear of pride for all your deserved success! Looking forward to watching you and the crew and the shop grow! Josh...drink! Go Bennetts Customs, keep moving forward!
You have enough land. A couple of containers with a arch kit between, add the front and rear walls to the arch kit. this will give you plenty of storage and allow you to keep the shop space as stripped down and neat as possible. The biggest distraction and waste of space in any workshop is always the parts and accumulated everything that you seem to collect over time. Having all the stuff you are not using and don't need everyday or even every week you'll find is a blessing.
The new digs look good! Cant' wait to see how you finally get everything arranged and get back to business. Happy Holidays down there folks from us in Kentucky.
Merry Christmas gang. One thought to consider is some pallet rack mezzanine area over your metal shaping work station and adding lighting under that . Will give you some storage in the air which currently is wasted.
Congrats on the new shop. One thing you might want to do is get a couple of trailer/containers outside to store the parts that you have that you're not going to use right away to get them out of your way. It will open up your shop and work space without having to trip over the things that you want to keep but able to go thru whenever you want. As you know space is key and fills very quickly. We started out with one and now have 4 but we have the parts we need when we need them. Good luck
Very happy for you, so cool that, because of your consistency and high quality workmanship, your channel continues to grow. Congratulations on making the dream of a new workshop a reality. It has no doubt taken a lot of planning, hard work, and some risk. 🙂 As you mentioned it is a good idea to add lights along the walls. Lighting is best with lots of cross over from multiple light fittings to minimise shadows. I reckon it’s well worth considering having a ‘dirty room’ to do all the stripping, grinding, sanding, etc. This could be achieved by dividing off one or maybe one and a half bays, with a self closing door in the dividing wall. This would really help to keep the clean areas cleaner. It would also provide more wall space on both sides of the dividing wall to position more tools/work stations. The other advantage of a dedicated dirty room, is you could set up a cooling system in that area so that during very hot weather, on ‘Total Fire Ban’ days, you can have the doors shut and continue to use equipment that make sparks & heat, without the possibility of being responsible for starting a bushfire. The rest of the workshop could have the doors open as the fire risk would be contained. Enjoy your Christmas, all the best for the New Year. .
Looking forward to the magic made in your NEW space. Content is ALWAYS informative from beginning to end. Editing is seamless along with Great background music. Very professional and enjoyable to watch! Just a thought for hanging things on the wall that works well. Look up how to make or buy if you choose what’s called a French Cleat System. They work well, take weight, easily move what ever you might be hanging. Just my 2 cents. Happy New Year Fellas. #HotRodsRule#KustomsForLife
I have had several shops, and it takes a couple of years or more of tweaking to get things right. If it was my shop, i would put a row of pallet racking over the machines on the side and end wall with lights underneath . Clear plastic tubs work better than black bcs you can see what's inside. I would build a mini mezzanine in the corner over the CNC for more storage. You do such a good job with nothing but sticks and rocks I can't wait to see what you do with the CNC. Good luck ,
The boys dun good!!! Congratulations on the new place Jordan there’s enough land there to make the most of. Coffee and merch shop, drive in movies.Anyway I’d like to wish all your family and friends a happy Christmas and prosperous new year. Take care best wishes Tim.
just an FYI, in WA transporting a wide load (>2.5M) without a permit, signs, flags and amber beacon is a $5000 fine. Also unsecured loads is $200 fine per item, example winch handles. Take care.
Moving the Radial Flyer seemed very nerve wracking. Nice new shop Jordan, I’m going to guess that there will be an expansion in the future as things seem really tight. Maybe a couple storage containers to free up room. Merry Christmas to all at Bennetts Custom.
💥🪛 Bloody hell, I always wondered why I felt a "connection" with Josh, I was a Sparky for 30 years before I wasn't. Love the shed Jordan, I'm not at all jealous 🥰🥰🥰🤨. BTW they're never big enough 🤭
Some mezzanine space and racking is a must. It’s good to have space but the trick is to organize stations. The walking back and forth will kill you. Group tools in clusters and locate the “.occasional” large stuff in their own zone. You do a lot of table fab so finding the sweet spot for your layout bench is key. The rest will pinwheel off that point.
Good work moving the workshop Jordan, Ben and Josh, I think you will find some aspects of the layout will evolve over time and its amazing how shed's look huge until you start filling them up lol. I would be looking at putting long span pallet rack against a wall over things like grinders, lathe etc it will clear a lot of floor space especially if you have good wall hieght, is the bay beyond the gyprock destined to be a spray booth? anyway I hope things go smoothly getting it to a workable space. Cheers Greg
Yeah Jordan and crew you are on you way to greatness man all the best to your future builds and your ongoing success 🙌 ❤ liven large man ❤❤❤ love it Merry Christmas and a happy New year man.🎉
Sorry, I just realised how negative my comments are, I really enjoy the content and the work you and the team put in to put it out. Really looking forward to seeing more great videos from your new home, love the DIY tools and the resurrection of old metal
You never have enough space. Any spare space gets quickly populated with stuff. Obviously you need to make use of all the vertical space around the walls for storage. Maybe even think of making a mezzanine for storage of parts.
Looked like a large shed until you put all your stuff in ,😂 not much room left, congratulations with your new premises, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones

Great new space. Merry Christmas to you guys! Enjoy the break, see you in 2025
you could use a couple windows, pic a corner to pile the hoard for now. Like you said once you start working in the space it will come together.

Nice shed. Pallet rack as much wall space as you can and then offset the equipment in front of that. Storage is key.
Very nice shopand have built two myself and help on four others, i have learned, figure out what you want or need than double it, lol.
Yeah Jordan and crew you are on you way to greatness man all the best to your future builds and your ongoing success 🙌 ❤ liven large man ❤❤❤ love it Merry Christmas and a happy New year man.🎉
So happy for you guys good luck in 2025!!
Should we be worried about the always standing water out the front? Maybe some grading and a french drain?
Light coloured tin on the outside would have kept the inside cooler during summer, but it's a great size
Also you shouldn't leave it to Aussie electricians to tell you how many lights and brightness to install from experience
Sorry, I just realised how negative my comments are, I really enjoy the content and the work you and the team put in to put it out. Really looking forward to seeing more great videos from your new home, love the DIY tools and the resurrection of old metal
Frick yeah 🤙
Congrats Bennett's ! The last part of this big shed (the third door and the space beside) isn't yours ?
We rent our space from our good friend who organized and created this space for us! That’s his little side for his business
I hope that Mushroom was Magic seeing it came off a stump!
You never have enough space. Any spare space gets quickly populated with stuff. Obviously you need to make use of all the vertical space around the walls for storage. Maybe even think of making a mezzanine for storage of parts.
Reckon you could do with a bit more space there chaps😂 oh to have a place that size absolute dreamsville
For you guys
Paint booth or no? I'd still pit a short mezzanine in as the freed up floor space is worth it.
Love the new space! How far was it between shops?
Great move
Congrats on new shop a lot of comment generators in the move 😉👨🏼🔧
Congratulations! Hope the new workspace has Air conditioning!
Looked like a large shed until you put all your stuff in ,😂 not much room left, congratulations with your new premises, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
This place is hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
No windows?
What are the new workshops dimensions.
you built a huge shop, why you only using half? Where's the bathroom?
I'd like to know how they got a tim hortons sign all the way from canada haha
🤘🤘👍
Talk too much lol...
Congrats on the new shop !!
