Some of my cheap tips (theese also help when you're selling a car):
-> if you have old worn cloth seats, get a pair of simple solid color car seat 'shirts'. They are great for masking old worn seats, usually fit every car seat and look better than cheap seat covers, while costing only 20€ or less.
-> change your interior lights and license plate lights to white LED, simple upgrade for only a few bucks, but it works very well
-> change front parking lights to LED aswell (but not the main beams! If they are made for halogen, use only halogen bulbs),
-> colored halogen bulbs (can be hit or miss, most of them suck). It might seem like a gimmick, but it truly does wonders. A family member has no brand cyan bulbs, that we found in the glovebox and they look very interesting compared to old yellow bulbs. And their performace is just as good as regular bulbs if not better, but it depends on the brand.
->allign your headlights properly with screws, there are many tutorials online
->get a new car smell freshener that you like and stick with it, mostly psychological thing that I like, you might not
-> no money for even cheap second hand alloys? You can make steelies look good by respraying them and applying clear coat to keep them looking nice and easier to clean.
-> apply trim restorer on all exterior plastic and rubber, theese are the first to give away the age of the car
->get nice single blade wiper blades, old rattly & sqeaky wiper blades will drive everyone mad, passengers included
->getting windows tinted is not cheap but it goes a long way
->if your car paint is old and damaged, don't get tempted by those 'magical' fix everything products, they will only mask the problem for a short time or make even more damage. Paint correction by a trusted detailer is the only way to fix paint damage. You can try to DIY, but be ready to spend a lot of time practicing and money on products.
-> and the simplest of them all.....just keep your car clean, not excessively detailed, just clean = clean windows, vacuum regularly, throw away trash immediately, etc...
-> clean engine bay (it's very easy and relatively safe, just don't use pressure washers only plain garden hose and finish with trim restorer and shine)
-> clean gas cap, door hinges and door frames,....basically keep the dirtiest parts clean, this will set you apart from others who don't bother cleaning theese parts

Great one to consider is a steering wheel wrap! Getting one done in leather, suede etc... Makes the driving experience much better but makes it feel more expensive

Fresh number plates, especially if the old ones are faded or have rusty screws. Fit parts where you can from face-lift models. Mild rear tints, because everything modern and expensive comes like that. Wrap chrome trim in black, like the black edition audis.
    Just a few more ideas

Pretty much exactly what I did to my first car, Corsa c
De badge, learn some detailing and polishing. Rear wiper delete, Second hand head unit off a friend, second hand BBS wheels on eBay (probably reps, as they were cheap 😅) unfortunately looking back they were black and looked exactly as you'd think a Corsa owned by 18/19 yr would look 🤣

While my car technically doesn't fit the cheap car criteria, I think the 718/Macan steering wheel makes a HUGE difference. Genuinely not sure I'd have bought one with the original wheel, they're ugly and the gearshift buttons are a properly stupid idea. The newer wheel though, that's in the running for the perfect steering wheel in my book.
Detailing is definitely the best option on this list though, regardless of how cheap the car is. Tyres are great on more expensive cars, at least in the sense that cheap tyres on a decent car are like a big sign saying "I haven't looked after this" so good tyres are worth more than their value in that sense. Interior materials are great too, especially satisfying as an owner if you can fix the nasty looking stuff. I think for that one particularly, it's important to have a fairly common car that has a load of decent mods available.

If you want your car to look very expensive, put a Ferrari or lamborghini badge on it! I put a Ferrari badge on my fiat panda, and I fool a lot of people . Oh yeah and I get a lot of gold diggers😉

Or even just get some fresh new plates and new bolts. That brings the car back to life for like £20 ... oh and ditch the black badges 😂 looks tacky and old... ps. and get a centre console armrest!
