The Jaaaaaaaaaag, because it's the only one you can park outside a post office & passers-by will pause & think maybe, you're in there screwing it over with a sawn-off!
A Jaaaaag driver wouldn't hold up the post office with shotgun lol they would just "borrow" all the money put of the till and ofcourse they would pay it back..... 😉😂
Top Tip for would be criminals :- A Prius wouldn't attract any attention if parked outside a Post Office. Passers by would assume you are some sort of " eco warrior " collecting your pension. They wouldn't dream of noting your reg.number.
I have a Brera S , rare , fun , drop dead gorgeous ....10k + for a good one and I can't think of anything else I'd rather have when factoring in running costs , easily self maintained and a real head turner .
Excellent video…and choices. The Alfa Romeo Giulia is a no brainer for the bang for your buck, and far more reliable than Alfa’s badge history. I love your quest for the Alfa 4C; such an amazing car that is criminally underrated.
As I own an M5 comp I'm biased, but it is a great machine and lovely to just cruise around in. I do the occasional track day and have had no issues over the last 4 years. People have a fear of e gine trouble, although I don't know how true it is, so would stick with the later face-lift like I did to avoid the early model potential issues
In contrast to your series, I ordered a 1973 Monte Carlo, which after I had ordered it became Car of the Year. I kept it for a number of years and it's the only car I sold for more than I bought it!
One thing I've noticed since the whole cost of living crisis hit, people are absolute dicks on the road if you're driving an expensive-looking car. Literally don't think I've been let out by a single person in my last 5k miles and I get cut up regularly, by which I mean multiple times per mile in some cases. The car hasn't changed and I still try to be a polite, considerate driver so the only thing that's changed is the general mentality. I get that people don't like seeing other people doing well if they're struggling to pay bills, but it's certainly something to be aware of for a prospective buyer of any of these- a year ago you'd have got mostly positive reactions, now you need to be on the ball to avoid potential accidents from tossers. Anyway, that Rangey has aged well, visually if not mechanically! From this list, I'd easily pick the Granturismo from this list if I didn't have to pay for it, but in reality I wouldn't touch one. While I don't really want a 911, that would be the car I'd actually want to drive, although I do love the Giulia, just has to be in QV form, which is a little out of budget...
I’d rather fancied a Range Rover myself, however couldn’t really affor the model I wanted. Instead, I bogught an XJ Portfolio with r only 47k on the clock for under €20k two years ago, and it really is a damn nice car to car - very comfortable and so far has passed two MOTs with no advisories. Neither has it given any mechanical problems. Only issue being that if you don’t use the car for several days, you will need to keep it on on a trickle charge battery unit - being over 70, this is something I really need to take care of.
Video suggestion, Cheap surprisingly fast 4x4s? There's no other video like that on TH-cam, you could also do one on surprisingly fast vans, both these vids would be good for us people who are petrol heads but need a 4x4 or van for work
I'm looking at XJs at the minute, and the major issues with the diesels are timing belts . They need to be changed every 7 years, or at around 100K miles. Also the gearbox should be serviced about every 5 years. neither of those issues are expensive for a car of this quality. My brother has an R Sport, and the only issue he has had is the sunroof sticking, but he solved that with a can of contact cleaner WD40 [not the degreaser]. Personally I want an XJR, and frantically trying to justify the extra 10K or so one will cost, and running costs. But for a hooligan in an executive suit as my brother calls them, I think thats for me.
For more than 2 years, I had a 2014 Granturismo Sport with the 4.7l engine and the ZF transmission (not the dreadful automated manual). It was 100% reliable and my only outlay was servicing (they have 2-year service intervals though). The best thing is that I sold it for the same as I paid for it. A Range Rover is far more likely to empty your bank account.
obviously the top 4 are the ones for petrol heads and the M5 is clearly the most capable car having immense pace and space, though non petrol heads will just think it's a 5 series so not great for all the 'status' bs
Forgot the BMW 640d! Picked mine up for less than £20k, can even get them as low as £10k! I asked someone how much they thought it was worth, they guessed £60k, if only…
Surprised you didn't mention the glaringly obvious reason why the M5 is so cheap. Bent rods and the inevitable need to rebuild the engine after 70k+ miles.
Range Rovers are for people with lots of money who can afford to buy them new & who never keep them longer than the warranty period. A used one will be an endless money pit, which will bankrupt you financially, cause you to lose your house, your wife, the dog & what ever few marbles you had🙃
Cheap to buy, will cost you the same that you spent on buying it to repair it after owning it for a few years 😂 hence why they do not hold their values.
Great vid, thanks JB. You are right, drive the car that suits the parameters you have set yourself. The Range Rover looks like you are a financial bluffer or a drug dealer! Audi A7? It's OK! I like the Arnage, it's classy without being over-the-top. The CLS is nice but not pretty enough. The Jag? Neither here nor there in my eyes, it's just another Jag. The Alfa is lovely but I would say it's like dating an ex-stripper....Pretty but has issues! The Grantourismo is similar is like the the Alfa, only this time expect to pay for your pleasures! I like the Aston but I think it's looking a bit dated. I like the 997, only car people would be able to tell the difference. The M5? NO, I like indicators on my car & I think, unless you have a subscription to them, they are inoperable (like the new ones with the heated seats & steering wheel). Either that or the drivers are dumb enough not to know how to work them! All the best.....
Never buy a v6 diesel Range Rover. Always the v8, the v6 is literally known for snapping! Got the v8 4.4 and it’s absolutely fantastic but be warned any normal repair cost on a budget car could be from 200-400 but with a Range Rover is allways at least 1500😂
The 911 997 c2s has 355 bhp and official figures give a 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds, but non official figures give it nearer the 4.5s 😉. And you won't get a 997 c2s gen 1 with less than 90k for less than £24k. High mileage might stretch to £20k but prices are on the up already... And finally... The bore scoring issue on gen 1 models amount to about 5% of all cars... So not the big gremlins everyone on you tube and on the tinterweb talks about...🤣🤣🤣 And... Why would a C4S be more desirable?? Have you ever driven the C2S? It's so good, there wasn't really a need to make the C4S... Making videos is cool, but before making videos, people really should do more research and try the cars.. My two pennies 😉
Never know if it means cheap or JB cheap 😉 sick vid though bro smashing it as per
The Jaaaaaaaaaag, because it's the only one you can park outside a post office & passers-by will pause & think maybe, you're in there screwing it over with a sawn-off!
It’s also fast enough for the get away and people move out the way for a Jag. Wouldn’t happen in a Beamer
Lol

Top,gear
I recall the Jaguar XJ last model made a few appearances in the film Skyfall driving M around.
Jag for me. Looks amazing. Great level of kit.
And a real lottery 🤞 on reliability 😳
@serenityinside1 Yes I agree but I guess that's a chance you take with all of these. Buy wisely!!
Love to hear you're chasing the 4C - awesome looking car that makes you smile every time you get in. 👍

Should do another version that is reliable, ulez and low tax but look sporty
Pick one, he says! I am very drawn to the maser just for the sound! Or the giulia, love the look of them. Ah, then there's the m5....
Would love to see another video with tuner cars

2:05 the standard spec for A7 and A6's are black on black, Nardo grey ones go for crazy overs (In Switzerland at least)
135000 not bad my friend. Happy New Year.
I guess if you want to empty your bank account it has to be the Maserati, great video!

Love your video's! I hope you'll buy a luxurious (risky) cheap car and do an in depth or review after 6 months (garage bills, running costs, etc.)
Awesome video bro respect...Can u do a video on vans??? 2 wheel to 4 wheels drive?

I like the jaaaaaag cos it has a value for money, cool looking.
Forgot the BMW 640d! Picked mine up for less than £20k, can even get them as low as £10k! I asked someone how much they thought it was worth, they guessed £60k, if only…
if you gave me any car from this video, i wouldnt know whether to go for the giulia or the M5. they're both amazing
I'm absolutely dying to buy a Giulia but just don't know if I can risk it going wrong! Such a stunning car though 🤤
We have the RR, the Bentley and the Aston. All great cars that have gone up in price including the RR50th Anniversary car
Is the Volvo C30 Coupe in there. Beautiful car. I have a silver one. Very stylish, good to be,seen in.
Nice i will buy obe of them
Granturismo, aston with the v12 or that Porsche model really can’t decide. A couple months ago that gen Porsche wasn’t available for under 20k at all
The gen 1 997 c2s in manual, unless a high miler, or with issues, won't fetch under £24k anyway, and prices are on the up again...
M5 for me love it
Great vid again
Addup🎁
I would go with the Jag. I have owned three and all have been trouble free. The supercharged 6 is a scremer.
If I'm being practical I'd have the M5, but my heart would have the DB7
Going for the XJ JAG. no questions
I have one and love it. I also have an XKR which is brilliant but frightening!
@@wildbillharding 4.2 or 5.0?
A7 is my favourite so far
ROFL a shooting brake by definition is a 2 door estate .... a 4 door is a "wagon" normally known as an estate ? correct me if im wrong ?
a 7th gen Celica is easily the best "look expensive" per pound car you can buy IMO
jb are all these cars ulez compliant ?
Yeah that BMW M5 is what I'd go for
JB, what Alfa are you saving for a 4C?? Didn't catch what you said
Should have added jag F type too
Surprised you didn't mention the glaringly obvious reason why the M5 is so cheap. Bent rods and the inevitable need to rebuild the engine after 70k+ miles.
I think it would be the Porsche and the M5 for my garage.
2-5 and 8 are the ones to watch
Buying any of these would be manifest evidence of self-sabotage.
Has to be the Alfa, but the colour makes such a difference, when you see Alfa red, then the gray, they don’t look the same car and model.
Range Rovers are for people with lots of money who can afford to buy them new & who never keep them longer than the warranty period. A used one will be an endless money pit, which will bankrupt you financially, cause you to lose your house, your wife, the dog & what ever few marbles you had🙃
Have a Lexus RC 300 H gets looksand compliments everywhere and you see hardly any on the road
Does he not realise that we are in a cost of living crisis at the moment 😂🤣😂
Mine's the Merc!
(or was that another video? 🤔)
cheers -Guila or CLS for me
Range Rovers are on every unreliable car list I've seen over the last two years.
Hi JB I think I would go for the range rover as my age is 58 👊💯

I'd go for the Arnage. Because I like the idea of a car designed by vicars. God must be looking after it.

Alfa Giulia gets my vote.
dont agree on the bentley
I’m begging for a list luxry red cars under 16k
the M5 for me
Is this a reupload?
my dad owns a 997 carrera 2s, and i can confirm that people think hes much richer than he is xd

Being financially "suicidal", I pick the Bimmer M5. It's fast, smooth and will kill my nest egg ASAP. But, WHAT A WAY TO GO DOWN THE DRAIN!
Real petrol heads know a cheap car when they see one even if it looks good
Should say,, cars that will cost you 20 grand per year at the mechanics 🤣🤣👍
yup 20k is cheap ???? where do you live ???
Range Rover sure is pretty!
DB7 for me.
Gotta be honest, both the Maserati and the Alfa Romeo each give me a hell of a chub. Maybe marry the Alfa and cheat with the Maserati.
Maserati and m5...
Audis always age well and always look more expensive than they are.
Bently Arnage ! enough said
M5
Or the Bentley arnage
Yo! You forgot the BMW 6 series grand coupe

Wow a massa for 20 k. M5 though 😊
Cheap to buy, will cost you the same that you spent on buying it to repair it after owning it for a few years 😂 hence why they do not hold their values.

Well all these cars are cheap and there's a reason for that. None of the cars you presented here I would describe as reliable.

Buy a range and you buy problems.
Your engine is going to go too, especially anything over 85,000mls
£20,000 for a new engine.
My choice is the German cars. BMW M6 Alpina, Porsche 911 GT3, Mercedes AMG . . . British cars have always been electrical nightmares.
