really interesting vid Carson , your Dad seems so chilled out when things go wrong , seems strange the combine did not have a alarm before it ran out of fuel , love seeing how yield changes over the land drain
I enjoy your channel as I grew up in Mt. Lake. I currently farm SW of Fort Dodge Ia. Have run a JD combine for the last 30 years, currently have a S780. Have learned how to get a clean sample, by not following the OM recs. I have my best results running the concaves at 0-4, cylinder at 300-500 rpm. The chafer around 16 and pan at 8 with 1000 - 1250 wind. It takes more power depending on how tuff the beans are. If it is super dry it destroys the straw and can put to much trash on the chaffer, then slow it down and open to high side of above range. It won't hurt to try a couple rounds. Good luck, and be safe. We just finished beans this afternoon'
nice video again... 👍 2:40 I think you were awake after that bump 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 25:06 thank god it was only a small crack. chet larson was a little more unlucky and had a huge crack on combine 🙈😬
That was really great, Carson, start to finish! I just wish I could have seen the actual problem with the auger chain. Was one link broken, or did it just come undone? Did you need to add, replace, or take any links away? Good to see your Dad too! Among your projects, weren't you 3D printing hard to find parts? Did that business go anywhere? (even though you have your hands full!) I find your videos so interesting! Thank you!
Thanks for watching and the comment! The chain just snapped a link but it was getting pretty tired so we just replaced the entire chain. My 3D printing business never really took off. I still 3D print stuff but it’s for my own projects now.
@6thGenFarmer should be the bulldog on the nose of the hood I believe I seen it was golden it just means the whole truck is all genuine mack parts nothing after market
Nothing like self induced breakdowns. Chain that hasn’t seen an oil can since new I bet and running the machine out of fuel at least they were easy fix’s.

The way the combine harvester cuts through the wheat field at night is simply mesmerizing!

Hi from Tasmania, I like your Dad's dry wit.
I think it was Bugs Bunny that had the super hearing. I mean those ears! Best of luck with this year’s harvest

Thats an genuine mack has the golden bull dog
Just curious, I’ve always heard about this, but never actually looked into our trucks. Where is the golden bulldog?

Why didn't you keep an eye on the fuel gauge?😮

Human
Food for thought. Your legs are like the blood pump for your system. So instead of push ups, try walking or do some knee bends.
