I saw RATM play in Osaka once and was part of a crowd obediently chanting back, "f%$# you I won't do what you tell me", thinking how ironic it was. What a great band, and love Brad Wilk's drum parts, it's like heavy rock funk, beautiful.
any chance for the "crazy solo" part, has anyone tried to transcribe it or find some transctiption? I would like to know what is played there because it sounds really great in the original and no cover on TH-cam so far plays it similar way :)

Honestly I would hit the op shop and rig up a couple of saucepans. I’m an orchestral percussionist too, you can use anything that gets the right timbre!

Bruhhh! This is exactly what I've been looking for!! Husband bought me a drum set two years ago that I haven't done more than four-four on because that's all I know, but it's my dream, my DREEEEEAM, to play this song. If this is the only song I ever learn on drums my life will have been well spent. Could you please tell me exactly which pieces I need to play this song? I don't think I have a perfect set. Thank you SO MUCH.
If you have kick, snare, tom 1 and floor tom as well as hi-hats, crash cymbal and ride cymbal you should be good to go!
Instead of the cowbells, just play the rim of your toms and instead of the second crash cymbal just play your ride cymbal. Hopefully it all makes sense from there - it’s a great drum track to pick as your “one song”, go get it!

Wrong on the first rythm after the cowbells. The high hat is 1 - 2 - rest - and - 3 - and - 4 and. It makes the that first bit far more challenging because you have to control your high hat hand when it really just wants to keep hiting those 1/8th notes.
I totally hear what you mean! I reckon it’s hard to tell if that’s a specific rhythm choice or just the way the accents fall because of his hi hat technique (I can JUST hear hi hats or at least left foot on the “ands” of all those beats)

Ha, good point! If you play 16th note triplets between crashes and snare that’s a good starting point to get the sound of the crazy bit.
