Hmmm, I think I take offense when you talk about "old lady perfume". At what age is that? I'm 63 and love many of the perfumes you love. What does an old lady wear?
I think I get what she means. Perfumes pre-late 70's had a higher parfum content. Therefore making the perfume stronger than they are now since the majority of the perfumes sold now are eau de toilette. Strong perfumes = earlier times, earlier times = older folks.
I hate that phrase, too. My fragrances are often called 'old lady fragrances'. Of course there are differences between the scents that are 'suitable' for a teenager vs. a grown woman, but altogether a scent has no age restriction. If you can pull it off, you can. :)
I feel like I’m the only person in the world that hates the way Flower Bomb smells. I don’t understand the hype, it smells so much like baby powder and old lady to me.
Hey Jessica. Nice video! Just FYI, there's literally zero difference between men's and women's perfumes . . . they are all perfume, the question is simply the amount of oil. There are "men's" EDP, EDT, and EDT as well as Pure Parfum, just as there are "women's." And while there is some general difference we've grown to expect from "men's" vs. "women's" perfumes, the only real difference is in the marketing. My first fragrance, which I still love, was Giorgio Armani's Aqua di Gio for men. Now my wardrobe consists of many that are marketed female as well as many unisex. I used to have more men's marketed scents, but my husband has ended up with them over time. Interestingly, his signature scent is Tom Ford's Velvet Orchid (for "women"), and my big, muscular, tall, dark, handsome mechanic, rocks it like a boss! Knowing this can really help with sales, because I find that many women prefer scents with more woody notes or "masculine" notes like lavender. And lots of men prefer florals . . . they're just afraid of smelling like girls. But NO ONE questions the gender of my husband's fragrances. They just tell him he smells great!
Amy Martin if that's what you would love to do then you totally can do it!! Start out at a department store that sells perfumes (like Macys or Nordstrom) and so many opportunities will open up for you❤️
I love your perfumes and it's a shame that Marc Jacobs perfumes don't last considering they are very expensive it's like a body spray..type I have daisy eau so fresh and it's literally lasts 3 hrs at their most and 96$ is not cheap for a 2.5 oz
It's true that some perfumes don't last probably it depends on your body chemistry. The perfume she mentioned that lasts on my skin forever is the Versace Eros. I only do two spray one behind each ear.
Being a perfume addict and collector, I enjoyed this video. My current fave is Flowerbomb Midnight (which imo smells NOTHING like the original Flowerbomb which I actually do not like). I must add that I will turn 60 this year and do not (NEVER have!) associate age with fragrance, for myself or others. It is all about a fragrance that speaks to my soul and reflects my mood of the moment. It is self expression on an olfactory level that has no age boundaries, although my tastes have certainly evolved throughout the years and will no doubt continue to evolve. This is what makes fragrance so exciting. It represents your current self.
Finally!!! Someone else who doesn't like flowerbomb. Omg I bought it blind and what a mistake! It's so cough syrupy and heavy. It doesn't even smell like flowers to me . Never smelled the midnight version though
@@CouponFrenzyFlowerbomb Midnight is worth a test even if you do not like the original. ( And no, I didn't perceive the "flowers" either, especially to the extent of having the name represent it as such). Personally, I find them to be nothing alike, or @ least altered enough to make them seem like distant cousins once-removed 😂. However, we all experience fragrance differently, so test don't purchase! Midnight is still my current favorite, I have even repurchased the 3.4, which only happens with a frag I never want to be without.

I just did a blind buy for the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle and I was scared to get it because of the Orange note in it but everyone kept saying how good it was! Now I feel reassured because I also can’t stand the smell of orange or the actual fruit 😂 you like the perfume, so I may too. If anything, even if I don’t like the scent as much on its own, maybe it’ll do really well on my skin.

mon paris is one of my favorites. that was my first perfume that got me into spicy scents, like you said it’s so addicting, something about it is amazing!!
Also, natural musk is almost never used in fragrances anymore. Those that have it are priced above your Flowerbomb. And honey, while used considerably more in some forms, is usually synthetic as well. The notes are not indicative of the ingredients, only of the things that the nose (generally) detects, or often, what they intend for the customer to detect. This is why two fragrances can have very different notes listed on Fragrantica or Base Notes, and smell like dupes for each other. :)

I'm the exact same with Angel! I hate it, never owned it and never will, but the second I smelled Angel muse I was in love, no idea why because they are similar but it's just gorgeous!

The new poison girl is AMAZING. I also love absolutely blooming and jadore. When it comes to owning any Dior, I only have Jadore (which I was given after I filmed this video)

Not really high end, just designer. High end would be more like Creed, Jean Patou, Byredo, Clive Christian, or at the very least the exclusives of different houses like Private Blend by Tom Ford.
@ Jessica Christine. You CANNOT put ages on fragrance 🙄 Fragrance more about PERSONALITY rather than AGE !!! Also EDT doesn't necessarily mean fragrance won't last. Longevity depends on the formulation & your skin !!!
I buy most of my perfumes from fragrancenet.com .... I found all of these on their website even the ones you didn't know if they are still being made or not. Thank you...I'm going to order a few of these.... I bulk counted my large perfumes....I probably have between 50 and 60..then another 20-30 small ones, which is really silly...no one needs that much.
Angelina. Gigi Williams yes my collection quickly rose to 50-60. Its a shame but I just love everything about perfume, so I know this will always be the case for me. I am going to try to make 50 my limit!! Lol
Do you create ASMR content at all? You should consider it; you have a very pleasant and calming presence which is refreshing and stands out from so many of the Valley Girl, screeching and squeaking types I hear all too often in TH-cam videos. I'm still super sad about Pink Sugar because it smells awful on me. I figured I would absolutely love it but on my skin it had this burnt plastic smell mixed with berry like I just blew out a berry candle. Usually smoky/sweet isn't horrible if it's like Bonfire Bash from B&BW with a natural smoky smell super blended in, but Pink Sugar smelled so fake and awful on me. My husband also said he thought it smelled weird too. So don't always trust it when people say it gets a lot of compliments. I think it is definitely a hit or miss perfume. Depressing though because it had all the notes that I thought I would be obsessed with. Luckily someone who really loved the smell bought it from me, and I know a lot of people love it. But from my experience, I definitely think people should spray it on and try it before buying. Don't blind buy just in case it doesn't mix well with your natural body chemistry. I literally like the smell of Downy Unstoppables fabric spray better than Pink Sugar lol which was extremely unexpected😂

I dislike Bright Crystal, gave my bottle away. My husband hates it, would always tell me to take it off when I would wear it. The peony in it was really annoying. Ironically enough I gave the bottle to my sister and I checked in recently with her to ask her what she thought and she said it was okay but she wouldn't buy it. The only Versace perfume I adore is the Black bottle Crystal Noir, it's lovely!
Elle Saab it hands down a better choice for a bride and it actually lasts longer than 10 min like daisy ( why would you ever recommend daisy ever for a grown woman) ?
Nice collection. Out of my extensive collection (nearing 160 or so bottles, maybe more), one of my favorites is a $30 one from Bath & Body Works, and it is Mahogany Woods. I, too, used to say that $165 is too much to pay for a bottle of perfume, but sadly, I've long past that price point. Now, if I really love a scent (and on occasion I've made blind purchases), I can talk myself into $300 for 50 ml (just once, though, and hopefully never again...knock on wood). Next time I'm at Sephora (we don't have a Macy's where I live), I'll have to try some of those you mentioned.
Mark Harris haha yes many people can justify it, however I'm not one of them!! A lot of people are ride or die for Tom Ford, which are extremely expensive.
I like TF, and other than a used bottle of Sahara Noir that I just picked up off of eBay, I don't own any (but have sampled lots). My only justification is that it is a hobby that I'm passionate about, and if I were to spend the money on flying instead (another passion), at $65/hr, I'd have an hour of excitement last exactly...one hour. With a $100 bottle of perfume, that will last me a year or two. I figure there are worse things that I could be putting up my nose, right? :-)
Mark Harris you should try Scentbox. They send you a good sized sample of Fragrances of your choice, and they have a vast collection. You can get up to 3 a month. It's a great way to try something before you buy, plus you can see how it dries down. There is also Scentbird, and Luxury Scentbox. I love Tom Fords, Black Orchid. I now own it after trying it, along with Si, and Poison Girl. That's only in this past month lol!

You're collection is amazing. I wore Gucci Guilty Black for my wedding. I love it, it's become my signature scent because I wear constantly aha. I've notice though that floral scents stick to me so well, but I can't stand them 😂 they overwhelm me and make me nauseous but if I don't shower the day after wearing one, they'll be there for days 😂
Cece Cheung Gucci guilty black is a good one! & yeah everyone is different some people hate sweet scents. And some people have floral or spicy scents. Others love light and floral or very strong perfumes. Everyone is different. And everyone's body oils are different so one perfume could last on one person but not the other. (:
Cece Cheung same here! The only floral I like is daisy dream - it smells very fresh and I love that it wears off in a few hours . Learned of it in this video 😊 I also like DG Light Blue and Tocca Colette. Both are non-florals. But light blue will stay around foreverrr FYI

It really is all about personal choice and preference. Everyone is different and each fragrance is going to smell different to/on each person because no one has the same sense of smell/bodily oils. I actually do apply time of year in my descriptions when I am recommending fragrances to customers. For example, the other day I said “Chanel eau so fraiche is a really good perfume to wear in the summer, compared to the rest of the fragrances Chanel has.” My favorite perfume to wear in the summer is Bella by Vince Camuto. Jo Malone is not sold where I work so I have never tried their fragrances. Thank you so much for the comment, watching, and subscribing; I really appreciate it.

Sarah le lis daisy smells great when you initially spray it, but it will only last for like 2 hours. BVLGARI lasts ALL DAY! (: the daisy bottles in this video are all eau de toilettes. I do not own daisy dream forever which is the parfum, but I love that one & it lasts!!
I got a sample spray bottle of Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris (parfum) from sephora and it's my absolute favorite thing I've ever smelled, but it's soooo expensive. Have you ever come across anything similar to mon paris?

My favorites are Dolce & Gabbana the one & mon jasmin noir by BVLGARI. I've never tried floral shock, MK turquoise is EXTREMELY floral (perfect for the spring) I personally love it but you need to like floral scents and I’ve never tried Bronze Goddess. Accidentally used a mini sampler of Marc jacobs decadence a few times cuz it’s so woodsy. I thought it was a decent male scent on the edgy side. Oops. It’s good though. I’d use it to be alone while I bike far distances to have a nice scent to power my senses a lil bit. But until now I did not see that it is a girls perfume. I’d only mini dab it so I could not really distinguish it from other unisex scents. But it made me wonder so I checked. I’d spray perfume in my cottage or apartment entry way. If any pretty left it over. But I burn Tibetan monestary incense also & burn ash wood in the fire place.

I hate that phrase, too. My fragrances are often called 'old lady fragrances'. Of course there are differences between the scents that are 'suitable' for a teenager vs. a grown woman, but altogether a scent has no age restriction. If you can pull it off, you can. :)

Just FYI, there's literally zero difference between men's and women's perfumes . . . they are all perfume, the question is simply the amount of oil. There are "men's" EDP, EDT, and EDT as well as Pure Parfum, just as there are "women's." And while there is some general difference we've grown to expect from "men's" vs. "women's" perfumes, the only real difference is in the marketing.
My first fragrance, which I still love, was Giorgio Armani's Aqua di Gio for men. Now my wardrobe consists of many that are marketed female as well as many unisex. I used to have more men's marketed scents, but my husband has ended up with them over time. Interestingly, his signature scent is Tom Ford's Velvet Orchid (for "women"), and my big, muscular, tall, dark, handsome mechanic, rocks it like a boss!
Knowing this can really help with sales, because I find that many women prefer scents with more woody notes or "masculine" notes like lavender. And lots of men prefer florals . . . they're just afraid of smelling like girls. But NO ONE questions the gender of my husband's fragrances. They just tell him he smells great!

I love your perfumes and it's a shame that Marc Jacobs perfumes don't last considering they are very expensive it's like a body spray..type I have daisy eau so fresh and it's literally lasts 3 hrs at their most and 96$ is not cheap for a 2.5 oz

It's true that some perfumes don't last probably it depends on your body chemistry. The perfume she mentioned that lasts on my skin forever is the Versace Eros. I only do two spray one behind each ear.

Being a perfume addict and collector, I enjoyed this video. My current fave is Flowerbomb Midnight (which imo smells NOTHING like the original Flowerbomb which I actually do not like). I must add that I will turn 60 this year and do not (NEVER have!) associate age with fragrance, for myself or others. It is all about a fragrance that speaks to my soul and reflects my mood of the moment. It is self expression on an olfactory level that has no age boundaries, although my tastes have certainly evolved throughout the years and will no doubt continue to evolve. This is what makes fragrance so exciting. It represents your current self.
Finally!!! Someone else who doesn't like flowerbomb. Omg I bought it blind and what a mistake! It's so cough syrupy and heavy. It doesn't even smell like flowers to me . Never smelled the midnight version though

( And no, I didn't perceive the "flowers" either, especially to the extent of having the name represent it as such). Personally, I find them to be nothing alike, or @ least altered enough to make them seem like distant cousins once-removed 😂. However, we all experience fragrance differently, so test don't purchase! Midnight is still my current favorite, I have even repurchased the 3.4, which only happens with a frag I never want to be without.
Most of these perfumes can be purchased at Tjmax for $39.99-89.99 and Monday's are senior citizen day so ladies bring your mom or grandma shopping with you and get 10% off already cheaper then retail price.

I just did a blind buy for the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle and I was scared to get it because of the Orange note in it but everyone kept saying how good it was! Now I feel reassured because I also can’t stand the smell of orange or the actual fruit 😂 you like the perfume, so I may too. If anything, even if I don’t like the scent as much on its own, maybe it’ll do really well on my skin.

Also, natural musk is almost never used in fragrances anymore. Those that have it are priced above your Flowerbomb. And honey, while used considerably more in some forms, is usually synthetic as well. The notes are not indicative of the ingredients, only of the things that the nose (generally) detects, or often, what they intend for the customer to detect. This is why two fragrances can have very different notes listed on Fragrantica or Base Notes, and smell like dupes for each other.

I'm still super sad about Pink Sugar because it smells awful on me. I figured I would absolutely love it but on my skin it had this burnt plastic smell mixed with berry like I just blew out a berry candle. Usually smoky/sweet isn't horrible if it's like Bonfire Bash from B&BW with a natural smoky smell super blended in, but Pink Sugar smelled so fake and awful on me. My husband also said he thought it smelled weird too. So don't always trust it when people say it gets a lot of compliments. I think it is definitely a hit or miss perfume. Depressing though because it had all the notes that I thought I would be obsessed with. Luckily someone who really loved the smell bought it from me, and I know a lot of people love it. But from my experience, I definitely think people should spray it on and try it before buying. Don't blind buy just in case it doesn't mix well with your natural body chemistry. I literally like the smell of Downy Unstoppables fabric spray better than Pink Sugar lol which was extremely unexpected😂

I dislike Bright Crystal, gave my bottle away. My husband hates it, would always tell me to take it off when I would wear it. The peony in it was really annoying. Ironically enough I gave the bottle to my sister and I checked in recently with her to ask her what she thought and she said it was okay but she wouldn't buy it. The only Versace perfume I adore is the Black bottle Crystal Noir, it's lovely!

Nice collection. Out of my extensive collection (nearing 160 or so bottles, maybe more), one of my favorites is a $30 one from Bath & Body Works, and it is Mahogany Woods. I, too, used to say that $165 is too much to pay for a bottle of perfume, but sadly, I've long past that price point. Now, if I really love a scent (and on occasion I've made blind purchases), I can talk myself into $300 for 50 ml (just once, though, and hopefully never again...knock on wood). Next time I'm at Sephora (we don't have a Macy's where I live), I'll have to try some of those you mentioned.

I like TF, and other than a used bottle of Sahara Noir that I just picked up off of eBay, I don't own any (but have sampled lots). My only justification is that it is a hobby that I'm passionate about, and if I were to spend the money on flying instead (another passion), at $65/hr, I'd have an hour of excitement last exactly...one hour. With a $100 bottle of perfume, that will last me a year or two. I figure there are worse things that I could be putting up my nose, right? :-)

Mark Harris you should try Scentbox. They send you a good sized sample of Fragrances of your choice, and they have a vast collection. You can get up to 3 a month. It's a great way to try something before you buy, plus you can see how it dries down. There is also Scentbird, and Luxury Scentbox. I love Tom Fords, Black Orchid. I now own it after trying it, along with Si, and Poison Girl. That's only in this past month lol!
The One is my signature scent. Rose The One is awesome as well!

I've notice though that floral scents stick to me so well, but I can't stand them 😂 they overwhelm me and make me nauseous but if I don't shower the day after wearing one, they'll be there for days 😂

Others love light and floral or very strong perfumes. Everyone is different. And everyone's body oils are different so one perfume could last on one person but not the other. (:

It really is all about personal choice and preference. Everyone is different and each fragrance is going to smell different to/on each person because no one has the same sense of smell/bodily oils. I actually do apply time of year in my descriptions when I am recommending fragrances to customers. For example, the other day I said “Chanel eau so fraiche is a really good perfume to wear in the summer, compared to the rest of the fragrances Chanel has.” My favorite perfume to wear in the summer is Bella by Vince Camuto. Sarah le lis daisy smells great when you initially spray it, but it will only last for like 2 hours. BVLGARI lasts ALL DAY! (: the daisy bottles in this video are all eau de toilettes. I do not own daisy dream forever which is the parfum, but I love that one & it lasts!!

I got a sample spray bottle of Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris (parfum) from sephora and it's my absolute favorite thing I've ever smelled, but it's soooo expensive. Have you ever come across anything similar to mon paris?
Oscar de la renta bella rose is SORT OF similar... but other than that not really. It's super unique.
La Vie Est Belle and Flowerbomb smell very similar.
I think LVEB is way too sweet. Flowerbomb is sexier

My favorites are Dolce & Gabbana the one & mon jasmin noir by BVLGARI. I've never tried floral shock, MK turquoise is EXTREMELY floral (perfect for the spring) I personally love it but you need to like floral scents and I’ve never tried Bronze Goddess. Accidentally used a mini sampler of Marc jacobs decadence a few times cuz it’s so woodsy. I thought it was a decent male scent on the edgy side.
Oops. It’s good though. I’d use it to be alone while I bike far distances to have a nice scent to power my senses a lil bit. But until now I did not see that it is a girls perfume. I’d only mini dab it so I could not really distinguish it from other unisex scents. But it made me wonder so I checked.
I’d spray perfume in my cottage or apartment entry way. If any pretty left it over. But I burn Tibetan monestary incense also & burn ash wood in the fire place.
