    She is using “The Works” toilet bowl cleaner. I’ve been using it for years and it works amazingly well! BTW, I always put mine in a spray bottle, pouring it from the bottle is a huge waste and horrible coverage! I recently changed and started using “Iron Out” spray, it works WAY BETTER!!! Try it you won’t be disappointed, I promise

    I've always used Works toilet bowl cleaner. I wear a mask, fumes are wicked open window and ventilate. I pour it in spray bottle. I mist tub bottom and in rows mist my way slowly up, it keeps it more evenly applied so you don't get the drippy streaks. Then I scrub in circles with teflon scrubby as to not harm tub surround finish. Only bad part is it removed the finish off my drain hardware.

    The Works is awesome! This stuff is the best. Found it at the $1 Store some 15 years ago. Now I see it in other big chain places for more than just a $1. Anywsy, after letting it soak for about 30 -45 min and a little elbow it took off months of sulphur water uric acid build up! Amazing!
    It's caustic, however so wear protective clothing, gloves and eye wear.

    FYI you need to get the overflow cover back on. The cover holds the overflow drain in place and tight against the back of the tub so it seals. The way it is water can/will get behind the tub and may allow mold growth in the wall.

    We just installed an "Iron Curtain" device from Osby Water Conditioning(local to us). For the first time in 30 years we do not have rust on our fixtures. We have a water softner but it can't handle the amount of iron in our water so this device catches the iron first and then the water goes through the softner and throughout the rest of the house.

    Be careful with toilet bowl cleaners, as some have lye in them, which is a strong acid. Also, try applying the product liberally on a sponge and wipe the surfaces, keeping them wet. You will use much less product. Plug the drain to capture the solution to reuse. Another product that works at least as well is called Iron Out. It comes in a spray and a powder. You wont use as much if you use the spray, but I add a few Tsp's of the powder to my toilet tank (not the bowl) and let it work for a few hours to remove rust. You can control the strength by using the powder. Cheers

    This is one beautiful mom.(pretty also) It seems though her daughter couldn't (wouldn't ?) find the time to give her toilet and bath a good scrub now and then. I too would be tempted to wait till my mother would see it.
    Don't forget to (beside using gloves)wear eye protection when using such strong cleaning agents. When brushing spray might reach your eyes.
    After a shower it's a small task to wipe away soap deposits from the shower or bath wall. To prevent it from ever becoming like this.
    This is not only rust but a mix of soap residue and calcium due to 'hard water" that demands regular cleaning.
    Your daughter would be better served with porcelain tiles, which are easier to clean. Marble is slightly porous and might soak up deposits.
    Removing water from the toilet bowl is easy by using a small *_plastic_* cup ,throw it in a bucket so you can use that water again for flushing the rest of the cleaned residue.

    • @HappyHauteHome
      @HappyHauteHome  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Aw thanks. Unfortunately, the hard water stains on contact and even scrubbing couldn't get it off. I tried and my cleaners tried...Good point about eye protection, this formula is strong! Absolutely porcelain tiles would be easier to clean, I didn't install marble but do love the look!

      Hard water stains appear as a chalky white residue. When the hard water comes in contact with metal surfaces, the chemical reaction forms rust buildup.

Very suspicious that she doesn’t say the product since this is supposed to be a tutorial video. On a side note, I’ve used Alberto V05 (clear kind not the creamy stuff, see thru) and it works great. DON'T USE TOILET BOWL CLEANER ON AN ENAMELED TUB! I did that when I was a child and 50 years later, you can see where the toilet bowl cleaner ate off the enamel. I have the same problem as you and I usde the clean sponge mop with dawn. That only took off the soap scum. Then I used white vinegar on the sponge mop. It took almost all of it off. So that's what you use and it's non toxic.
