Love Helen Smart's character. Smart not just in her name. Compared to many of the other prisoners, she's one of the few who actually comes across as sensible at times.
Joan is certainly back with a vengeance... That trick with the doll was very cruel, even by her standards. Great to see Myra in action, the scene at the end there was a prime example of why I grew so fond of her character. Minnie and Bobbie may as well have stayed on the run rather than turn themselves in, it was obvious that Ann certainly never appreciated it.
How nice to see Doreen, that accent still puts a smile on 'me' face. 😂 I've been stuck on the earlier episodes with Bea because imo that's really the best, but this will be the first time I'll see the episodes through to Sonia's end.
I love the fact that I'm only 10 mins away from where the bobbi & Minnies scene was filmed :D The area is called sassafras Actually I love that prisoner was filmed in my state too :) you've gotta love Melbourne
It seemed to take ages before The Governer was notified of the escape! Great storyline, only surpassed by Doreen's mad hair.At least we've heard the last of Old MacDonald and his sodding farm.
The Freak is _repulsive._ Not even Sonia deserves that sadistic treatment. That was flat out cruel. That ending with Myra slamming her against the storage locker was thrilling and satisfying. I wanted to jump up and pump my fist in the air. Dont screw with Myra. Woohoo!!!!! Go myra!
'All the women have escaped!' Ha ha.... This programme is hilarious. More escapes than Houdini on a good day. Love it. Never realize it was so funny when I watched it first time round.
You can't go messing with Myra Desmond. (She doesn't take no Prisoners.) The Freak is absolutely pitiful. For reasons only I know, Minnie appears to have the voice of Dame Edna and the face of Reg Varney. Great show.
I know what you mean!🤣😂🤣😂 Perhaps Minnie should have been driving the bus whilst holding some gladioli and doing a queenly wave every so often!🤣😂🤣I think at some points Cass reminds me of Buster Keeton, just some of her facial expressions she pulls look like him.No disrespect to her,or anything.Funny how some people remind others of someone else, yet, no-one else can see it!Meg is just like Bjorn out of ABBA if you ask me.I can't see any difference between them, except he's male and she's female!(I know it's a big difference, but there... )🤣😂🤣🤭🇬🇧♥️♥️♥️🐊🐊🐊
Myra's been a great addition. Never thought I'd actually sympathise with Sonia. Oh and that stunt with the baby has to be one of the Freak's sickest moments.
When Pixie first appeared as Pixie, I immediately thought of one of my favorite Saturday morning cartoons, Pixie & Dixie. Their nemesis was Mr. Jinx the cat.
Pixie I think is trying to be Marilyn Monroe in prison! Her innocence, breathy voice, blonde hair all point to this.I can just imagine her singing 'I want to be loved by you' whilst whirling about in a bridal dress!🤣😂🤣🇬🇧♥️♥️♥️🐊🐊🐊
Quite an episode. Anne sounding like she's one step from jacking it all in, Sonia showing a human side, The Freak showing an inhuman side, Phyllis giving an object lesson in how not to escape, Doreen (welcome back, luv!) not understanding the difference between prostitution and soliciting, Judy not understanding the difference between a pebble and a stone and Minnie learning that just because a bloke appears well off, it doesn't mean to say he is. Meanwhile, we have the incongruity of the loss of Colleen's entire family sort of shoehorned in between the comedy elements of the episode. And Colleen herself just left to fend for herself all day in someone else's apartment. I mean, Anne Reynolds goes in for surgery and half of Wentworth are gathering round her. Colleen loses her entire family in the blink of an eye and....nothing. Even Megsy opts to head for work and leave her to just sit there alone. It's all a bit inexplicable.
@RockHEYS 00 this is my first go-round but my first impression of Myra Desmond it's exactly like yours :we now have a real top dog, not a pretender; which takes nothing away from Bea
What a sadistic piece of work the freak is! When you see Maggie Kirkpatrick in interviews it's hard to believe it's the same woman. Nobody else could have played Joan ferguson as well as she does, that trick with the doll was beyond cruel even by her standards.
Awww Jaysis - BOREEN??!!! So Freaky Fergie aka Lurch Munster unexpectedly reruns & with her usual hateful persona intact. Funny how Phyllis has forgotten her supposed ethics about harming children. Bobbie & Minnie - LOL!!!
Running after Phyllis wasn’t the brightest idea even if it was for the sake of the kid. Only Doreen would think going back to Wentworth was better than just telling a bloke she didn’t want to marry him. GO MYRA!!!! Handling Fergo like a proper Boss Cocky!!! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Oh my gosh! What a pleasant surprise to see Doreen again! ☺ I didn't expect to see her again after the episode where she worked in the Boutique Shoppe when Bea Smith escaped. She was one of my favorites
The dog seemed to take a liking to Bobbie and Minnie, they were doing their best to pretend he wasn't there. I wonder if he belonged to one of them? Or a member of the filming crew?
41:06 "Soliciting's not a crime". Since when? Then how did Helen and all the rest in her line of work wind up in Wentworth? Apparently at this point, soliciting is the only thing that won't get you a bit of time on the inside.
Sheri451 Hehe. I have the closed screen captions on as well when I watch TH-cam videos. Sometimes, the closed screen caption match the dialogue, and sometimes they don't. 😄 The closed screen captions seem to hear the lyrics wrong sometimes too. They hear "Prisoners" as "Christmas", and when it gets to the officer walking down the staircase, the name "Sharon" appears, which is ironic (I think) as Sharon Gilmore was pushed down those stairs by Jock Stewart. 😄 What a coincidence as well. Obviously no one knew back then that this show would end up on an invention called, the internet, likewise on a video sharing website like TH-cam, and have close screen captions making that little scenario happen. 😄 I did think about this for a long time since last year and now I saw your message, I thought I'd join in and add my thoughts and experiences. Hehe. 😄😃
Using the closed captions when Lizzie was talking used to be hallarious as they never matched what she was saying must be the accent that makes the subtitles go a bit weird but it is funny tho 🤣🤣
"Soliciting is not a crime." Me to the policeman, "Since when?" Some man would have to be pretty hard up to want Doreen. That is SO MEAN! Are you wanting the poor woman to have a complete nervous breakdown Joan? This was a very good episode.
Colette Mann was a mother around this time I think, Betty Bobbit said she also had a couple of large dogs and one day, the police called her and told her one of them had been involved in a robbery. A few children brought the dog to a milk bar and distracted the person inside and they stole lollies and they all got caught. Colette had to keep her dogs away from the boys.
jude "we better get back to the bus... where do we go?" cass "uh.....well...idk.." hahaha! didn't even plan to escape and yet are lost in the woods,, leave it to the wentworth women !! lol :)
5:48 The writers must have thought "Maybe they've had enough gloom and misery what with Colleen's family getting killed and kids being kidnapped and all that. Hey, I know - let's begin a scene with Doreen just popping up out of nowhere. Bet they'll love that!" 41:50 Ann should just be grateful Minnie and Bobbi gave themselves up since no other members of the singing group seem to have shown up.
Tina Bursill is a superb actress. There's a great clip of her on TH-cam when she was in _Skyways_ in a scene with pre-teens Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan!
"That's my bike.." Well to be fair mate, she HAS left you a car for it. Kind of like the opposite of when Lloyd swaps the dog van for a moped in Dumb & Dumber? lol
Okay what is with Bobble’s hair lol 😂 there’s no way you realistically get an entire bale of hay stuck in your hair and not notice it. I know it’s a show but I was cracking up at the amount of hay stuck in her hair. A small animal could have babies in there.
"ALL the women have escaped..." is one of the greatest delivered lines in the whole series. Just how Anne says it half shocked, and half matter of factly.. lol Poor woman is probably almost having a stroke, just imagining how wide the smug grin on Colleen's face is going to be..
If colleen hadnt lost her family she would have no doubt smirked smugly at the news. She really resented Ann being back. Strange how Joan didnt gloat about how bad it would look on Anns record.
If soliciting is not a crime as that police officer stated to Doreen then y did they keep putting Helen smart ,Marlyn mason ,Jackie Donahue n Chrissie Latham in wentworth for soliciting
Man she sure showed Ferguson she wasnt one to be effed with! Ha! About time someone (by themselves--and a woman, too) overpowered her! Met your physical match Ferguson. Game point--Myra! Your move "Aunty" Joan (cuz we all know she'll make one). :D Im lovin' this!
Many here think the Freak was at her scariest in the earlier days EG: Grey Uniform and longer hair back as opposed to her later look with short hair and khaki uniform around the Rita Conners era.
There was so much durr durr derp derp behavior in this episode unbelievable. Especially Judy, Top Dog that she is. SMFH.Why wouldnt Rebs accomplice just drop the little girl off and pick up Reb outside of the singing competition place.
Love Helen Smart's character. Smart not just in her name. Compared to many of the other prisoners, she's one of the few who actually comes across as sensible at times.
I love Helen! I bet she would've been a great top dog if she had ever been inside for longer than little "vacations" from work.
well she was asked to stay longer but wasnt for her
@@SaxyLament true
Yeh she's basically a copy and paste of Bea without the bashings though 🙄
@@jamesmiller6441 Where did you read that?
Can't belive I was actually glad to see Doreen again .one of last of the original cast
I'm sure Charlote Mann got fatter every time I see her. Betty Bobbit piled on the weight too.
That ending with Myra putting ferguson in her place... 👍👍
She should be top dog.
It was at the end of this episode that I knew Myra was the Top Dog we had all been waiting for since Bea left.
Nice one Myra! Damn evil freak doing that with the doll. How could someone be so evil?
"Hey, that's my bike!" Well no shit! Lolol. That scene cracked me up! 🤣
Joan is certainly back with a vengeance... That trick with the doll was very cruel, even by her standards. Great to see Myra in action, the scene at the end there was a prime example of why I grew so fond of her character. How is it possible that the Freak is always around EVERY corner?
I love that line from Doreen " He sticks to you like B.O." Lol
Bobbie and Minnie returning drunk was hilarious.
This show is getting more addictive by the episode! Thanks for your time and effort in posting all 692 of them 😊👍
I wish it was more
This episode is hilarious. A current inmate has been scheming to escape and a former inmate is talking of scheming to get back on the inside.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Myra Desmond strikes to power!
How nice to see Doreen, that accent still puts a smile on 'me' face. 😂
I've been stuck on the earlier episodes with Bea because imo that's really the best, but this will be the first time I'll see the episodes through to Sonia's end.
Why not watch till the end
You have to see until the very end. Satisfying.
So selfish to leave that spoiler. People like you are awful. “Sonia’s end”. Why do that? Felt important for a few second of your life?
I love the fact that I'm only 10 mins away from where the bobbi & Minnies scene was filmed :D
The area is called sassafras

Sounds good

Nice! I went by the Half Way house near Collingwood the other day, and then The Freak's house in Box Hill.
I like seeing some Aussie countryside while the prisoners are on the run !
the Aussie countryside is absolutely breathtaking mate.🌲🌳⛅🌷☁🌹. 🌈
Aye. I drove through Victoria on a trip a few years ago. Beautiful part of the world

She is one in a million, that Babs Mcmillan. Her professionalism really shines here. Maggie really knows her job
I love this show. So glad my new tv gets youtube. Years ago we saw it on tv but it is so addictive. As you can see because we are on this episode
I agree very addictive 👍
13:38 “Something wrong Governor??”
“All the women have escaped!” 😂😂😂😂😂 brilliant 😆🤣😆
HAHAHA totally forgot how much I LOVE Myra's reign!!
Myra's reign was fantastic. She was just as tough as Bea and more rational, though Bea had more flair and fire.
Myra looked out for people. Bea was a selfish bully who threatened inmates when she didn’t get her way.
Doreen's "water melons" while soliciting outside the cop shop... WOW!
'All the women have escaped!' Ha ha.... This programme is hilarious. More escapes than Houdini on a good day. Love it. Never realize it was so funny when I watched it first time round.

Myra Desmond: Bea Smith the second! No messing around with the fighting skills.
Minnie and Bobby drunk LMAO!

+PrisoneroftheNight It's not a crime unless money is exchanged?
They usually get sentences for prostitution, so I think it is the case that asking for it isn't an offence, but doing it and getting the money is.
Strange that, it wasn't decriminalized until 1986 in Victoria.
This is what the closed captions say at the theme song, And things were different then holy insects are still shed and away.Sharon club all.

Joan has the same outlook of the inmates as Vera did.Except with Joan, you get a Vera possessed by Jock Stewart.
Manning is pretty chippa in a few places in this episode, for a man who just got his co-worker's husband and children killed
Myra at last someone gives it to the Freak

If soliciting is not a crime as that police officer stated to Doreen then y did they keep putting Helen smart ,Marlyn mason ,Jackie Donahue n Chrissie Latham in wentworth for soliciting
My thought exactly!
I think they get sentences for prostitution, so there must be a fine line being drawn somewhere.
Solicitation is the act of attempting to prostitute oneself. Not the actual act.
They weren't soliciting. They were prostituting themselves for money.
