Awesome lick!! Trying to get it sounding good I found that give it a ghost A before beginning the D Dorian, then when you end, descend from the D to B the finally A. Next step trying to play it at light speed clean, clear and precise like the man himself!! Thanks Derek🤝🏾

My request is for explanations on your appraoch to which modes or sclaes are used to create licks over particular chords in a particular progression. Also comment on moving from one scales or mode to another within the same lick because the progression is moving along. Finally touch a bit on your approach to lick placement in terms of playing a song, highlighting the importantance of not over playing. Please and thanks.
