As sakura season began, I decided to explore different places to see the blooming cherry blossoms. This time, I visited Saitama City.
I started from Omiya Station, walked through shopping and bar streets, and reached Hikawa Shrine Road. While looking for sakura at the shrine, I was surprised to find snow! I even made a snowman. After leaving the shrine, I headed to Omiya Park, which was full of crows. As the sun began to set, I turned back and walked through residential streets lined with private houses to return to the station. 🌸❄️🏯

Really cool ❄😁 - the little snow patch waited there for you like by magic - cute mini snowman⛄! Brilliant weather for exploring both, the busy streets, and above all, the beautiful shrine area ⛩ and park - loved the bamboo in the wind (still chilly, I guess ), and early sakura of course 🌸🤗! Omiya is a lovely place. We were there last October.
The rows of cherry trees surrounding Minuma-Tanbo (rice paddies) in Saitama City are 20 km long, the longest in Japan. Walking or cycling while viewing the cherry blossoms is a wonderful experience.

I only sorta recently noticed the Georgia coffee. It threw me for a loop because I was like, "the American state of Georgia?" I knew it had to mean the state because of the font (it's the same font I see the state name written in here in Georgia, where I live!). I understand now that it's called that because it's a Coca-Cola product, and Coca-Cola started here in Georgia. But it is always so funny to me to see my state name on these very popular cans of coffee all over Japan!
So Japan really have those chimes even in the big cities... How did I miss them while being in Okayama? Though I was probably too busy trying to see everything I could in one day. I love those chimes. It was pretty cool when I rode bicycle through two small towns in the row and was able to hear two different evening chimes
"evening chimes" work as a test for emergency warning system. so having them in big cities is even more natural.
@@alblgz Ah, makes sense. I wish we had it here too anyway. Just pleasant melodies to tell you that it's time to eat may save some people from drawning in work and stuff. At least I had times when I were frequently forgetting to eat cause of being busy. I mean, we have this announcement system anyway

Not much snow, but somehow it is there. Same situation here, but with the grass (yeah, I removed timestamp to let people find the right moment while watching still)
