Clean narrative both audio wise and visually. Thank you for sharing your experience so far in L.A with us. I hope you get to enjoy the opportunities it brings and bask in bliss.
great video. i’m going through so many of the same things. i moved out to LA 3 months ago and it’s been as you describe. the amount of people you meet is extraordinary. the idea of there being infinite work is something i was just thinking about. what do behave like when the tasks are never ending? you slow down. it’s about sustainability. i think you’ve inspired me to make my own “moving to LA video.” hopefully mine will be as tastefully done as this one 🤞
So that much depend on what you see as a "breakdown" ........... if it's a mental breakdown or ......... a breakdown of "how do go through our day" is somewhat different :)
I still go back and watch the last day in the life from time to time. Always was one of my favorites videos by you. And somehow you took it up a notch with this one. Always a pleasure watching what you make! Can’t for the next one Ryan!
could you please share how much time you have to reserver for a video like that? concept, shooting (is the broll shot or do you have a pool of broll of you?) would mean a lot to me if you could share these infos in the breakdown🙏🏻 thank you like the video a lot! gained a sub!
Thank you Jona, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I didn't cover much about this specifically in the breakdown, however I'm happy to share more with you if you have specific questions. Writing the script and story was on and off accomplished in about a week. Pre-production and shot planning was about 2 days, and filming itself took an accumulative 3 days. I fully recognize this sort of goes against the video being a "day" in the life, but it's a pretty accurate depiction overall.
@@RyanKao thank you so much! Yeah I understand that’s it‘s not literally a day in your life where you just put your camera next to you 😁 It‘s so nice to see you‘ve put so mich effort into it and now I have a rule of thumb how much time someone needs to have a quality video like that 💁🏻♂️ before that I didn’t have any clue. And now when creating videos in the future I can aim for something and don’t stress myself thinking „omg its taking so long for me, I bet others do it in a day“ or thoughts like that So thank you! 😊 Watched some more videos when I wrote the comment, you habe very interesting videos! I like to learn more about the business side and processes about videography cause I want to start soon too :)
I loved that you showed the part where you forgot to put in a memory card. Happens too much to me when I record myself! I applaud you for showing the real unnoticed aspects of creating. Awesome stuff.
Been a silent watcher for well over 3 years now and this video was fabulous. As a freelance photog, film, and editor I completely understand this entire video... those that know - know. Well done, and thanks for all the content.
Thank you for your support over the years and reaching out now. It always means a lot to me to hear good things from those who have followed me over time. Glad to hear you resonate as well. Cheers!

definitely the best of your catalogue, also probably the best of its likes.
Beautiful work, as always, I especially love the vibe in this one. My wife and I just celebrated our eighth anniversary and your comments about how the little things matter totally rings through for us. It’s amazing how many challenges we can take on as a team when we are confident in unwavering support from one another. Glad you have your priorities right; don’t let the hustle culture grab you by the throat. Keep it up.
You did not have to go this hard for a day in the life video bro ❤ also thanks for sending your condolences about my dad, you and Kylee are so kind and have shown me lots of love, truly appreciate it, keep inspiring me to make great content bro!
Hey Ryan this was an amazing piece i love your storytelling i found it very relatable my girlfriend is from LA and im 28 and from RhodeIsland im a freelancer Video editor i deal with colorgrading and basic editing i plan on moving to LA by 2026 to pursue Cinematography/Colorgrading keep going my dude!!
moved to L.A a week after I graduated highschool celebrated my 19th birthday here and starting a content creative company I grew up in a small town in New Jersey and I will admit the rain and melancholy feeling is something i miss so much it's weird having everyday where the weather is so nice back home when it rained a since of comfort was given knowing "today is a slow day" or "today is a day for a reset" it seems like in L.A it's always GO GO GO GO or you technically lose out on opportunities etc
Ahh thank you bro! Turns out... I do have a course actually, it's over on Skillshare (link in bio) It's focused on freelance and video editing however, but a cinematography class will be coming soon!
Man, I'm exactly the same with my mornings. Still feel ashamed about it a little, waking up late. But I just work better in the evenings. Great Day in the life, feels very similar. Keep it up
Honestly so tough do deal with the mental battle, but when you finally become comfortable with your routine everything totally changes. Thanks so much for being here
allo good.. everyone outhere thinks are filmmaker or photographer just coz they have a bunch of gears or can rig a shitty mirrorless camera to a heavy piece of shit.. using word CINEMATIC ...youtube channel.. ..and there s a comment say.. how story telling nd visual is this video u made@@RyanKao .. ahahhahah.. all rookies.. channel for kooks.. but i dont buy it
Watched this during a rainy evening. What a movie this video is.

Haha it seems like a skit, but it's 100% a common occurrence when I'm working around my office... Thanks so so much for watching!
Never thought I would find a day in the life that actually just works through my own day. This is awesome!
Glad to hear this connects with you! It's certainly not the "norm" but it works for me!!!
