It is June 2020, and I have had mine since fall 2010, has some scratches here and there, but so far love it, and also my weapon of choice. Always reliable, always delivers to the target
The Px4 Storm is the polymer version of the Beretta pistol with the rotating barrel technology incorporated. Like the FS92, they are both DA/SA hammer fired pistols. I got the 9 mm F version, with the safety mechanism. A smooth, accurate, and reliable shooter with the Italian flair in design which makes it a beauty, in my opinion. This gun is a keeper. Your video is one great presentation on the Px4 Storm.
I recently taken my PX4 Storm .40 out to a range recently...after being in storage for almost two years. This pistol is so accurate...it's incredible! You cannot go wrong with Beretta. The quality is "always" there. You get a lot of quality for price!
I've had my PX4 Storm in .40 s&w for more than 10 years. I requalified for my ccw last year at 67 years old with it. Softest .40 i have ever shot. Take care DocW
I have owned a Px4 for over 9 years. Have run about 20,000 rounds through it and have NEVER had a misfire, stovepipe, or jam. Simply put, it is the best shooting handgun I own. Love to go to competitions and embarrass the guys with the Wilson Combats and Kimbers with my "Robocop" gun.
I've put the px4 storm .40 on my future to buy list. Would it be best to get new or as used military surplus? Mostly want it for the range and I want something in .40S&W. Px4 Storm hit that sweet spot of perfomance, features, price and style for me. I can't find something that tops it in .40S&W
@My Name is JAFO I recieved a $200 Egift certificate from my job, so I'm going to use that for an 870 Tactical Express shotgun from Cabela's. Thanks for the tip but I'll hold off in the .40sw Px4 for now. Probably by early to mid summer I'll take it to heart.
I have had the full size in 40 S&W now for about two years and have run 2,000 rounds through her without a single stoppage, using all types of ammo including lots of hand loads. I replaced the decocker levers with the stealth levers and converted to decock only. Changed the stock hammer spring with the Langdon #12 lb silicone, D/A pull is very smooth, crisp and clean. The most accurate and reliable pistol I own. Absolutely love this pistol. I got it brand new at a deal that I couldn't pass up' and was the only reason that I bought it. Lets face it, it's an odd looking pistol but fell in love with her at our first dance. This is the ugly duckling that could, and does flawlessly.
Thank you for the useful 'trick' on how to insert the guide rod and block on to the barrel in the slide. On another matter, it isn't necessary to pull back on the slide in order to engage the take down levers to remove it from the frame.
Have it in 40 about 4 years and really like it. Not exactly easy to conceal though. Took some range time to master it, but I’m in my 70’s. Beretta makes some fine firearms. Might look into the compact model for CCW. Good video.
Excellent video! Quite a few years back, I was at the shooting portion of a CCW course when I noticed that the person next to me had one of these. I asked if I could hold it and it felt so wonderful that I bought one in .40 S&W. No regrets.!
Excellent review. Thanks so much. I recently bought a full size PX4 Type C (constant action) in 9mm... changed to EU00043 hammer spring.... Sweet shooter!
Outstanding video, clear images of all the important components, knowledgeable narration, and it did my heart good to see the use of snap caps after witnessing another video in which live rounds were used to demonstrate function.
500+ rounds this last week. Not a single FTF, FTE, nothing. Every pull, a shot. I do mag dumps every trip. People always ask if it jams. Any more I just ask them "why would it"?
12:04 The forward pointing "arm" you were pointing at was not the ejector, it is the Firing Pin Catch Lever, number 23 in PX4's exploded view diagram. The actual ejector is the black "arm" on the left side also pointing forward. It's not a separate part but integral to the Hammer Unit Housing, part number 32.
I'm here, seen this weapon on Tom Clancy. I really want to own one. See it's all around solid great design. I need reliable sidearm on hunts.. My ole sw40. Ready for recycling.

Excellent, interesting, and detailed information. On a most excellent and overlooked handgun. Ordering a used BER STORM full size .40 cal. with 2x/17rd mags and the 2x 14rd/mag that it comes with. Beretta sells directly a beautiful holster for it. And the 17rd/mag for the .40 cal.. Free shipping.
I LOVE the DA/SA operation and would have ONLY pistols with DA/SA if they just made more of them! Best of both worlds IMO, just takes a bit of "getting used to" AKA training. ;-) Of course YMMV (he says having just bought a Kimber! lol)
Great review! I own the full size Inox in 9mm. Have you swapped out your hammer spring to the D-spring? It's very easy to do, and I've never seen $9 make such a significant difference in a gun... smoother and lighter :) Two other cheap slight mods I recommend: - Convert to G-type (de-cocker only): FREE & easy mod to do; or w/swap to the low profile G de-cock levers - Talon grips... $17'ish: the rubberized version very much enhances the already comfortable grip :) I love my full size so much that I'm planning on taking advantage of the $75 Storm rebate (valid through April 30th, 2017) to pick up an Compact Inox for my EDC (AIWB)... very underrated gun!
Thank-you. This gun was a loaned gun so we did not modify it. The owner of this gun really likes it However we do have a Beretta 96 that we have done the D-Spring on already and it is working well - much nicer trigger and still reliable. We have the G-Type conversion levers on-hand but have yet to install them on our 96 and 92.
I will add nothing but a bit "YES" to what Toby says above. I also snagged a full-size last fall , made this small change to the hammer spring and I love this thing like no other 9mm! As for the de-cocker....meh. I personally don't know what all the fuss is about and honestly think it has gotten to be almost a joke... Like the reviews about the safety sticking out a "country mile" (they are actually 1/2 millimeter each by my measure!) lol! YMMV.
@@scottclinton4386 I think a lot of people are allured or in delusion over their Rambo fantasy of how they're going to get in a gun battle like some 80's action movie. Unless you like in a slum area, the chances of getting into a fight are slim, so I agree. I think the whole having fussing about a safety on the gun has become both a joke and vapid gunner fantasy.
People get robbed, people get murdered, people get assaulted with deadly weapons. Junkies break into people's houses. I think it's a slim chance but not that rare. 2 members of my family both escaped armed robbery attempts. One through speeding off through a red light, the other with a concealed handgun.
That's not the ejector that is the firing pin block lever the ejector is the arm on the left side of the frame also what you were pointing to in the slide calling it The Hammer drop is actually a firing pin block safety
They are actually snap-caps, these are designed to allow dry-fire without harming the firing pin. I got them on Amazon and the brand it Tipton. They even have a spring-loaded "primer" for the firing pin to hit which absorbs the energy.
This video said it has a full size grip. As a person with small hands, I have noticed I don't like guns designed for larger hands. But I do recall liking a Beretta handgun before. Any advice for a woman with small hands on this particular handgun?
These are nice pistols but do tend to overall have larger grips across the lineup. There are a couple different variations of this but it woudl be one you truly would need to handle to make sure - they can be difficult to find in stores so you may need to seek out one of the "big-box" style shops to find them in the case.
Can this Beretta be carried in condition 1? Hammer cocked and safety on? (I am planning to buy this gun, but beacouse i am going to use it on reservist shooting competion, butting it on holster in condition 1 would be better than using it on DA (rules for competion says that gun cannot be in holster with hammer cocked and no safty).
I no longer have this gun to absolutely verify, but best as I remember this one works similar to the Beretta 92 and 96. The safety will also decock it when engaged so I don't believe you can carry this cocked & locked.
@@HammerStriker i went to range today to test If i like the gun enought to buy one, i did, great shooting gun. It can not be kept in cocked and locked configuration aka condition 1. But all and all, great gun, i shot it better than glocks of cz's. Cheers from Finland and Happy new year!
This is not a glock. It is a Beretta. There is no need to pull the slide back just a hair. All you need to do is pull the two tabs down. Ita that simple.
If you never drop this weapon in sand, you will be OK. Sand gets in and jams it quite easily. It is easy to unjam and get the sand out, but it is a hassle.
Thank you very much for the great review. I am in the market to purchase a 9mm and I have narrowed it down to the Beretta PX4 Storm full size and the Glock 19 Gen 4. One noticeable difference is the weight of the Glock, and with 2 rounds less than the Beretta its almost 200g lighter (Fully Loaded). Could you advice on which is better in your opinion
machineunit Unless the slide release jabs straight back into your support hand thumb. If you hold thumbs forward, id make sure you dont have that same issue
Many people conceal carry full-size versions of this an other guns (even 1911s) and with the right holsters/clothing it can be done. You will be limited in where on the body you can put it and the type of clothing you can wear. Smaller guns are simply more flexible and allow a broader variety of carry options.
I dont like where the safety is. My hand cant both grip the gun and actuate the safety the way I can with other guns. Do you feel that it can be carried with the the safety off because of how much pull the trigger has?
These are still available as far as I know - most gun shops should be able to order one for you. Also, there are a number of online sources where you can buy one and have it sent to a local gun store to do the paperwork.
I heard that the trigger cannot be pulled accidentally if you're pressing on the front of the trigger guard and you suddenly run your trigger finger off the guard and abruptly onto the trigger. I actually saw it on video ob YT and the guy thought it was a defect and another YT user said it was a feature. SOUNDS WEIRD TO ME🤔. Nonetheless, I dont think I'd feel safest carrying this design as opposed to Lock Breech design.
You heard wrong. There is no "safety" on the trigger guard whatsoever and I have no idea what the hell you are even talking about... no really I think you have this mixed up with a different pistol (maybe).
Scott Clinton i know it sounds absurd but i was referencing one youtube video where the guy actually demonstrated it.. it was probably a manufacturer defect tho.
Again, I don't see how. The guard is part of the frame. There is no play, spring or anything to "move" to engage or dis-engage anything. I would love to see that video...
Scott Clinton i'm gonna find it for you so people stop calling me crazy...hopefully. It was probably a defect of some sort but it was more puzzling than anything.
Under US Copyright law, the video is actually automatically copyrighted at the point of production. The presence of the Copyright Notice brings the content under the purview of the DMCA which has some very steep penalties for removing the notice and otherwise attempting to violate copyright.
Why do people feel the need to check the chamber and show us that it's clear? It's a video, I don't care, in fact it would be more fun if you'd fire it accidentally. Good review though. Thumbs up. :)
We (and other channels like ours) do that for a purpose, it is because there are different reasons people come to TH-cam. Some come purely for entertainment (which is great), but many are new to firearms and come to TH-cam to learn. As safe handling procedures are the most important factor of dealing with firearms, reinforcing it is important. An inexperienced shooter viewing our videos (or others with similar mindset) will be reminded of the need to be very aware of the state of the weapon in addition to following the other safety procedures. Every once in a while you hear of somebody being shot by an "unloaded gun" (obviously it wasn't) or during the cleaning procedure. Hopefully reinforcing the need to clear a weapon that is going to be handled for a reason other than actually firing it may educate somebody and prevent a tragedy.

Needs Talon grips; otherwise, near-perfect pistol.

Will be interesting to see if Glock 46 is ever released.
475.00 at grabagun.com what ya think? In 40 cal
I haven't been tracking the prices of these but Grabagun is usually pretty competitive so it's likely a good price (or at least reasonable).
Picked up one today, great peace. And 27.7 ounces not Lbs, that’s quite a mistake.

@@HammerStriker Tell me what will happen if I post this as if I made it😂😂 go on tell me. Itll get taken down? Ohhhh ahhh scarrryyyyyy.
@@AM-jz1wb Wow
You sound like you have some basic Gun Smith skills ...
You have a valid point. I stand corrected :)
Thank you for watching our videos.
I have owned a Px4 for over 9 years. Have run about 20,000 rounds
through it and have NEVER had a misfire, stovepipe, or jam. Simply put,
it is the best shooting handgun I own. Love to go to competitions and
embarrass the guys with the Wilson Combats and Kimbers with my "Robocop"
gun.
That's a lot of money on ammunition 😳
@@likenl4508 Not really. About 200 rounds per month to keep the memory muscles in sync.
I just bought this gun yesterday and i love it i had a SmithnWesson and it feels so cheap compared to this hefty gun .. but with a 1$ a bullet right now its alil tough to shot for fun i gotta save up and stock on some more bullets
Will the plastic guide rod last 20,000 rounds ?
@@paulwklui The guide rod, probably. The recoil springs probably not.
