One of my twin girls was born like this ,she has ovaries and a uterus, all female organs except the vagina and the opening, she wasn't born with a anus either, doctors made an opening below her belly button so she can release the urine and she wears a colostomy pouch for her feces to pass through, she's had multiple surgeries and will need more in the future, I can't wait until it's all over for my baby,she's 5 yrs old.
We take advantage of being "normal" so much im so glad she is able to be happy and be able to be a normal woman and get pleasure and be able to not be judged for what she doesn't have . So amazing

It was just a joke.. she was bleeding because of the surgery not because she actually got a period. No reproductive organs mean no period. (And you can't transplant reproductive organs) She just got the "surface" done.
Just because you have a vagina doesn't mean you have a period lol you have to have ovaries and a uterus and a cervix lol people get hysterectomy get their uterus and ovaries are removed there for they are left with just a vagina and cervix.. They won't get a period anymore but they will bleed after the surgery if that makes sense... Her surgery just made her bleed it'll go away.. She was making a joke.

I have what’s called a ileal conduit urostomy, though it’s a bit different and because of chronic illness and disability, it definitely was a super intense surgery I almost didn’t survive. my bladder was completely removed and a new tract was made with a part of my small intestine then the uretures (the little tubes that connects your bladder to your kidney) have to be reattached to the new tract and kidneys. It was an 8 hr surgery as well and I ended up needing several extra surgeries so spent close to 2 months in the hospital for it the first part of my stay being in the icu. If anyone has any questions regarding stuff like this I’d be happy to answer. One thing a lot of people are probably curious about is smell, tbh the mucus that the intestines produce does have a slight smell. my stoma (part of my ileal conduit that sticks out of stomach that I attach the urostomy bag to) produces mucous.

I'm curious too. I looked at some intersex diagrams. There was one that had a spectrum from female organs, intersex organs, to male organs. I didn't see any that had 0 sex organs.

I had my daughter as a teenager and pretty much was a single mother for most of her growing up and this is exactly how we have always been. She has always been able to just be herself with me and be brutally honest. I had to hide alot from my parents who were strict and overbearing and I never wanted my kid to feel like that. She was given the time to realize who and what she is and made the decision best for her. I hate to hear stories of children born hermaphodites and the doctor force the parents to decide at birth which genitalia to keep. Citing that it's safer to perform while young. I would let my child choose too. Babies are the same at birth so there’s no way to tell (if it’s not obvious). I’ve seen too many stories where doctors and parents chose wrong. I think in this case, Jo is no doubt a female, just born with the defect. I’m glad they were able to help her.

One thing a lot of people are probably curious about is smell, tbh the mucus that the intestines produce does have a slight smell. my stoma (part of my ileal conduit that sticks out of stomach that I attach the urostomy bag to) produces mucous.

I'm curious too. I looked at some intersex diagrams. There was one that had a spectrum from female organs, intersex organs, to male organs. I didn't see any that had 0 sex organs.

I had my daughter as a teenager and pretty much was a single mother for most of her growing up and this is exactly how we have always been. She has always been able to just be herself with me and be brutally honest. I had to hide alot from my parents who were strict and overbearing and I never wanted my kid to feel like that.

I hate to hear stories of children born hermaphodites and the doctor force the parents to decide at birth which genitalia to keep.
Citing that it's safer to perform while young.
The child then grows up and identifies as the opposite sex than what was chosen.
I could not imagine how horrific that would be!

Intersex not hermaphrodite. And it is beat for the child to wait until the child begins to express their sex on their own.
I would let my child choose too. Babies are the same at birth so there’s no way to tell (if it’s not obvious). I’ve seen too many stories where doctors and parents chose wrong. I think in this case, Jo is no doubt a female, just born with the defect. I’m glad they were able to help her.
I love how open her family is about talking freely about sex and her condition. She is blessed to have them as her loving parents.

The kind of parents she has is not as common as one would think, amazingly supportive and understanding.
You could tell she was nervous going into the surgery -- but when she was interviewed right outside the hospital after being discharged, she was so relieved!! Good for her and I wish her all the best!!
