The idea of having discussion about Africa, and what the battle of Adwa signifies to Africans is very interesting idea.. Especially, if you invite other Africans in to the discussion would have been more interesting.
No question the result of the battle has impacted the way Africans see things. It was a paradigm shift especially to the African Americans., whom already began to accept that black people are created to service white people.

I think the most important set of mind is defining what we want from our lives as Africans and be intentional about it. Be mindful about it and ask why am I doing it. I think the biggest mindset that the westerners gave us is the why not mentality which makes you feel like you have to consume every product and a live in a certain way. If we pause and ask what we want for ourselves I think we will be able to liberate ourselves from any bondage and make the best out of what we have in out hands. We don't have to recreate the wheel. We also need to recognize the civilization, natural resources and all the wisdom that we have as African people. Including our legal systems, education systems, medicine and what not!

Why do you have a discussion about Africa in colonial languages? Especially in the free colonial land of Ethiopia? Shame on you for being the mouthpiece of the colonial tongue.

First of all stop separating you from other Africans because of the fact that we won over Europeans and jump off the high horse about who’s colonized and who’s not right now the Chinese are colonizing ethiopia on its resources just as much as they do in Kenya so in a definitive meaning of what the word colonized means we would be colonized by the Chinese. And that other black Africans who look like us around the world identify with that battle which showed white Europeans that black Africans can win over a white army is completely logical and right to do. Ethiopia is not an exception we’re not better than any other African country because during Italian invasion Mussolini even stated that he wanted to insert racial segregation between white Italians and black Ethiopians in the same way that they did apartheid in South Africa against our South African brothers and sisters and in the same way that they did our American African brothers and sisters with the Jim Crow laws. What this means is that we’re placed under the same claw of being classified as the most involved and primitive race of humans on earth this means that the battle of adwa wasn’t a symbol of Ethiopians being different from others it was a symbol of black Africans winning against a white european power and the reason for why it symbolizes black empowerment is because of when the battle occurred all of our African brothers and sisters looked up to us because we symbolizes African self reliance but keep this in mind you’re still in the same position as the other Africans are even though our history of not being colonized is powerful you must understand that it’s powerful for any black African man.
