Sorry for the 200 of you that got to see my unedited version of this. 😂 That's what I get for trying to upload and pack for an out of town weekend at the same time. What are your thoughts on this foundation???
It’s so easy to fall into the “next best thing” mentality. I’ve found more often than not I’m disappointed. Been here long enough to have found what works. The pressure for lovely humans like yourself to keep up and produce new content must be immense. In case you haven’t heard it lately, you are loved and appreciated. I’m heading to Sephora today to return an Armani Neo Nude foundation that just didn’t work for me. I have my gold standards. I generally remind myself of this when I’m tempted by something new. Our mass consumerism is a tad out of hand; it’s a sort of conundrum to want to support those we resonate with and draw a line and say enough is enough.
@@wendyraye For skin and body I like Osea and Source Vital Apothecary, and I use a few Paula’s Choice products. Her Moisture Boost cream is the one product that does not no matter what irritate my skin if it’s angry from a flare up which usually only happens when I try a new product. I like her SPF’s also, along with Elta MD. I use Timeless Vit C and E serum. For Foundation it’s Jane Iredale and a skin tint by Lune & Aster called Cover Correct that also has spf 50. I had some of the Chantecaille Gel cream and like Mandy I now use it for concealer under my eyes. My routine is pretty simple. Curology, Josh Rosebrook daily acid toner, (sometimes I will switch to Paula’s Choice BHA when I run out. I alternate between those two, then a serum, a moisturizer, and SPF. I appreciate that Mandy keeps it fairly simple as well considering her work and the plethora of products on the market. I’ve just found that my skin doesn’t change much through the seasons and the most drying and irritation I get is from the water quality. It’s horrible on skin and hair and I have yet to find a filter that does what it says.
@@kt9495 thanks for this answer. I’ve never heard of Josh Rosebrook, and have wanted to try Curology. I love Paula’s Choice. The glowy sunscreen is the best. I mix it with tinted sunscreen sometimes. Doesn’t irritate or break me out (lot of stuff does). The water thing is real, but I don’t have a filter either. I read that if you take a bag of baking soda and vinegar and soak the shower head all day it will clean it out - did it to my daughter’s bathroom and blue water came out of the faucet below.
I agree 100%. It gets super overwhelming! I noticed in one of your comments that you use OSEA. They sent me a few products, and I have fallen in LOVE with the Marine Cream. I will be chatting about it in Friday's video. SO GOOD!
I love that you compared this foundation to others! I did purchase this foundation and the one thing I have noticed is I can’t just dot it all over my face and the brush it in as it seems to dry to fast to be even and I guess that is because it has powder in it. I do love that it looks natural and wears great but you are so right about so many products coming out so fast. Thanks 😊
I really like the look of the foundation I don't own the other foundations mentioned I like the glow it gives to the skin I have dry skin but not to the point of it flaking thankyou mandy for your review I really appreciate it xx
Can you compare it to the Hourglass Ambient Foundation if you have it or the YSL foundation, Fitglow Beauty, YummY Skin Serum foundation from Danessa Myricks if you have it, or the Chantecaille foundations also the Jane Iredale Beyond Matte liquid Foundation pretty please. I also agree it’s is very very similar to the Haus Labs, if you have it or have used it you will like the Mario Foundation too 🫶🏼
Hi Mandy, felt the need to share with you today....you are so right about consumers being inundated with all the beauty products out there - so much that it's impossible to keep up. I'm 58 and I accept my aging and am thankful for my health, but it's tough to deny any makeup out there that can continue to help me hold on to feel good about myself. Whenever a new makeup comes along that looks enticing, the very first thing I do is to look you up on YT to see what you think. And I always follow your guide, you've never steered my wrong. You help me to avoid spending money to "test". I'm about quality and try hard to avoid quantity. Just want you to know how helpful and appreciated you are by your viewers. I've been watching you for so many years, and continue to recommend your channel to others. ;)
Okay excellent review, thank you. Love that you always share your thoughts after wearing a foundation for awhile. I also really appreciate that you compared it to others that are similar. And LOVE that you’ll continue to do that with future reviews. Who knows if we already have something that’s just as wonderful :)
Good morning Mandy! Thank you for all the work you put into all your videos! This one did not disappoint! As always it’s wonderful to begin my day with you! I hope you enjoy a blessed day pretty lady!
I would love a comparison video with a variety of new launches!! Trusting your opinion and knowledge I’m all for it. I’m on a semi no buy for 2023 so having that would definitely let me know if it’s the newest and greatest or just like what I have.
The best advice I heard so far if we have any one, there is no need for another one… which is similar. Your suggestions are genuine and it’s true so many launches every month.
I’m starting to play around and mix different ones, at first for the color - I tried mixing the L’Oréal serum with the dropper (shade 2-3) with Bobbi Brown serum foundation in Sand (tiny bit too light, which I think was reformulated and is now thicker, and it doesn’t disguise pores like it used to, the whole point of getting it) and it makes the BB more runny. stay on longer, and look better.
This foundation really is pretty and I picked it up in shade 16c.The shimmer in it I notice more in certain lighting, but in daylight not so much. I'm still.on the fence about whether I'm keeping it. Thanks for the review.
I got the chantecalle gel foundation because of u girlie and I'm literally like LITERALLY SHOOOOOOKKKKKKK.... Wtf ... I'm not a foundation girl but I just wanted to try it. .. it feels SSSOOOOOO good on my sensitive skin holy crap ... So now I want to try their powder and maybe a few other things ... Absolutely insane ... Love it so much jeez ... Now I wanna try the isdin sunscreen that u used in this video it looks awesome
I’ve seen Mario in Sephora. I’m looking for a really good coverage foundation. Maybe I’ll try it on in The store. I know you are a Jane Iredale proponent. A local woman carry’s JI in her spa. I may try that ( Ive used a few JI products before). In my 60’s and have dry / combo skin. Suggestions ( anyone?) I do use the Drmtlgy tinted moisturizer daily. Love it. But need more of a full foundation for nite etc. Thanx!
I’m also a longtime fan of Jane Iredale. The Beyond Matte would be worth a try for you for the full coverage. And don’t discount the Pressed mineral base or Amazing base. I’m still on the fence as to which I like best of those two. May have more to do with shade matching than product. Also, I never hear anyone speak about a brand called Lune & Aster, it’s a Blue Mercury brand and they have a tinted moisturizer called Cover and Correct that has SPF 50/PA+++. It’s been my go to for 5 years. I’m 53, and no matter what my skin looks like, when I put this on it’s like a sigh. It just works. Not affiliated in any way just want to share the love.
I will almost always recommend jane iredale over most other base products if you are deciding to try them both. I have a review on all their bases (except the tinted moisturizer; coming soon!), if you wanted to search my channel. The Amazing Base has the most coverage in the powder form, but I reach for the purepressed the most. And my fave in the liquid is the Hydro Pure, but if you want more coverage the Beyond Matte is a close second.
Hey Mandy. So I got 8n also. Skin twin lol. 100% I like it with a sponge and usually use a brush. I find it a bit thick so sponge helps to reduce where it settles in my lines. Haus labs never settles. I like the longevity of this though and even mixed it with Haus labs. This looks better as the day goes on and lasts all day working in the salon. Not my favorite but just like you said.. it's good. (Dry skin here.. but prep good)
I’m always looking for something to make my dry skin looking like I a glazed donut but I’m notb41 I have mature skin 55 plus of age. So I’ll take any glow❤️💚💙☃️
Thanks for this review. You are my skin twin! Anything that works for you will work for me …Same type same color… I haven’t tried the others foundations, I have been obsessed with the osmosis and the oxygenix .. so this is very tempting. Thanks for another great review!
Great review…I agree with you and I have all 3 of those foundations. I’ve struggled a little with getting the correct shade in the Haus labs….what shade do you have in the haus labs that is obviously very close to the shade of 8N in Mario’s new foundation? I am a very similar shade match to you. I actually went with 9W in the Mario because I went in store and swatched. While I’m normally always a neutral I really felt the 9W was more “neutral” on me than the 8N. Just still trying to find my correct shade in Haus labs. I use both 310N and 330N in the Lancome:)
@@nonilady1577 I’m 45yo with dry/combination flaky skin. In the summer Haus labs foundation slides off of my skin and in winter it emphasises my dry spots. Unless you have perfect skin….
Why did you prefer it with a sponge? Did the brush leave streak marks? How about fingers? And why certain powders? That seems pretty finicky to me. I did get a sample of NARS and it feels heavy on my skin around my mouth area, which is what happened with Sheerglow, but not as bad. I didn’t use a ton, but the sample size isn’t big enough to try multiple days with different powder, etc. You said it accentuates pores and doesn’t play well with primers, I think. I agree it’s impossible to keep up with new products but foundation is a favorite because nothing else looks good without a good base. I’m SO picky with how “heavy” a foundation lays on the skin it’s not even funny, that’s why I try and use Sheerglow as a comparison yo the heaviness/texture.
It just sheered out better with a sponge and layed better on the skin. It was still fine with a brush, but I did prefer the finish with a sponge. I haven't tried applying it with my fingers. 😀
Iv decided to skip this foundation bc I keep hearing the revlon illuminance foundation is very similar but better. I actually love the revlon (and I’m not a drug store foundation fan) the revlon actually is what I prefer when my skin is drier
What foundation product would you wear on vacation in Mexico at a resort in the pool everyday (not getting face wet)? Concealer and a tinted sunscreen?
