I don't understand why people are saying how bad this show is. Out of all the Disney shows in this generation, girl meets world is one of the very very few that actually talks about morals and things that many young adults and teens will be able to relate to. Just like Boy meets world. I love how different it is to Boy meets world but still the same (if you get me).

I have a really strong feel that once Farkle hits puberty he'll be considered more attractive and Riley will like him. Then Maya will be interested in Lucas. I feel that Disney is only making it seem that Lucas is Riley's 'Topanga' because they want it to be a surprise if they do pair Riley with Farkle.

I grew up on Boy Meets World. At 37, I'm almost the exact same age as some of the original cast. I was excited, but apprehensive when Girl Meets World was announced. And it's...not bad. I've enjoyed it, but for obvious reasons, especially any time we get a callback to the old show. I think the new cast is fine. But there's something about the show overall that's missing. I can never put my finger on what it is. More than likely, it's my rose-coloured nostalgia glasses that's making me biased. But I've enjoyed it and I'm very happy a whole new generation gets a show like this.

What I liked about BMW is that it grew with its fans. It started out very kiddish and grew into real life lessons. The GMW pilot seems on par with the first season of BMW so hopefully it can grow over the years and not have 15 year old characters acting like 8 year olds as other Disney shows do.

I like where the show Girl Meets World is going, but my big problem is the character Lucas is supposed to be the future love interest of the main character Riley. The group of friends are supposed to be 12 in the show, I figured they would pick people who were 12 ish to you know go through the years properly I guess, The actress who plays Riley is actually 12, but Lucas is 16. Usually 4 year age gaps are not a big deal to me, but when it's a 12 and a 16, it makes me a little uncomfortable. I know it's just acting and nothing is happening between them yet in the show, it is still very obvious that that boy is far too old for 7th grade.

I saw the pilot, while i generally liked it. My problem is it tries to establish way too much in just one episode. It has to establish the characters, the love interest, Maya's broken family life and how Riley wants to live in her own world while simultaneously wanting to be like Maya. So the pilot did kinda feel cluttered. I mean the original didn't even introduce the love interest (Topanga) until the fourth episode. So while I generally liked it, I hope the rest of season 1 isn't as cluttered as the pilot.

I didn't watch BMW when it aired live but I did watch reruns on Disney and ABCFamily and have seen every episode. So I am a longtime fan of MBW and was so wary when I heard about GMW. I didn't watch the first season live but I did I binge watch the whole show and finished it not too long ago including the new episodes and I absolutely love it. Just like BMW it was quirky and hilarious and fun but had its serious moments, where they spoke about important and pertinent topics to it's main demographic: bullying and cyberbullying, broken families, the ups and downs of friendships, young relationships. And when they brought characters in from BMW it didn't feel like fan service, it felt proper and fit the story nicely. The actors do everything right and I've cried so many times watching it. It honestly is one of the best shows on TV right now and I can't wait for more eps.
I loved BMW growing up, own the entire show on DVD, and GMW has really grown on me. Riley, Maya, Farkle, Lucas and Auggie really remind me of Cory, Shawn, Minkus, Topanga and Morgan, but still with just enough modern flair to make it entertaining for a newer generation.
