- Cory and Topanga are all grown up and raising a precocious tween of their own! Ben Savage, Danielle Fishel, and newcomer Rowan Blanchard pay a visit to the YH Studio to scoop us on their highly-anticipated Disney Channel series, "Girl Meets World", which revisits the characters from the beloved '90s show "Boy Meets World"! They explain how the new version differs from the old one, plus Danielle shares her thoughts on the often-envied Cory/Topanga relationship!

I love how when Danielle said "there is still an everlasting love out there for you" and Ben made that sound. He was probably thinking "ohh so there is still a Topanga out there for me 😊"
Ben and Danielle are real life soulmates. Everyone that watches them can see it. The way he put his finger on her arm and told her to finish her thought, the way they talk over each other while still actually listening to each other, they "argue" like they've been married forever, etc. Just because you find your soulmate, doesn't mean you should marry them, though. These 2 are perfect just the way they are. If they ever revive this show again in another 15 years, I'll still be watching them. In everything I've ever seen, I've never seen a chemistry that rivals theirs... They're enchanting together.
I love Danielle's response to relationships, it's so empowering! like it's true, a young girl isn't obligated to seek out love and relationships as the be-all, end-all. It's not a focal point and there's other things in life to focus on realistically. I love her.
Tell that to Disney, who, until Tangled, had young girls finding true love and being set for life before 18.

Why the hell are Danielle and Ben not together in real life. They have had amazing chemistry dating all the way back to 1993 season 1 episode 4 when they first kisse don BMW. They could have been a real life Cory&Topanga
I wonder as well. They dated though when they were younger. Like around season 4 of bmw i believe. But they decided to stick too being friends.

Is it just me who feels that the first and second season of BMW also focused alot on friendship and family. Cory and Topanga had their moments but it wasn't until season 3 they really became the focus. Even then the other main focus was on the friendship between Cory and Shawn. I love the jokes they did about them also being like a couple. Can't wait to see them in GMW together
i was sitting in my friend's couch about a week ago. and i chanced upon girl meets world. and then after i binged 2 seasons of it i binged 7 season of boy meets world. one of the best sitcoms i have watched. comedy that tugs on the heart strings

it's not realistic. people meet new people. people change. people are human beings who make mistakes and have feelings, and sometimes people can't forgive people no matter what. spending your entire life with one person from age 2 is insane, so is at age 12. people need to move on and grow. don't live your life the same way, or you'll never find out who you are or what you're capable of. even corey and topanga split up for a bit and dated other people, they ended up realizing their love for each other meant more, but that doesn't always happen. usually it's one person who feels that way while the other realizes the opposite.

Rowan is sitting there like "my parents are arguing (not really arguing but yeah) this is so awkward" I love Boy Meets World and I still do and I've watched every single episode of GMW mostly because I babysit every friday so yeah, and the only thing I actually like about it is that Rowan, Danielle and Ben actually look and act like they could be a family and that gives me a little bit of hope but I'm scared that Disney will ruin the show. They should just move it to abc family because otherwise they will not be able to address the topics that the characters in BMW dealt with (sex, alcohol, death, etc).

I would agree but in England we don't have Abc do we wouldn't be able to watch it. And in America you're lucky we've only had the episodes from 1-7 at the moment, you've had loads lol
Same! i think if they move GMW to ABC Family, they can discuss more topics that we should learn. Now that they are in highschool, things might get tough so it's better to move it out of Disney. i heard they are thinking about doing that.

Oddly enough; I don't even feel awkward watching it at 32 yrs old. I think the girl is adorable though I think they did introduce an opposite sex lead a bit too soon. Cory and Shawn had quite a while before Topanga entered the picture and even picked on her for a long while before she ever became a love interest.
Yet we have a love interest / friend in the first episode here. I was kind of upset by that.
I will still watch it though as I will need to know what happens to Cory and Topanga nomatter what :)

i saw about 6 or 7 episodes so far and it actually hasnt been a let a down and its definitely something i would have my kids watch because it teaches vauleable lessons

Vanessa Ortiz The episode is called Starry Night, and in another episode, Who's Afraid of Cory Wolf, Topanga mentions that they'd known eachother since they were three.
+Alexis Woodberry I know but there's another episode (A Long Walk To Pittsburgh Part 2)......(I think it might be part 1 😂) where Cory said that he said his mom told him when they were babies they would go on strolls together

Well in a different interview she said she's watched all the epsidoes. Even for me it took awhile to catch on what he was talking about.
Aww as someone else said in the comments this brought a smile to my face. And I just want to say thank you to Danielle for saying that it should not be important for a twelve year old to find your soulmate. That one thing that I was sad about when watching this program. I felt sad that did not have that person who I was madly in love with like Cory and Topanga. So again it made me happy hearing her say that :) xx M

I didn't think Cory & Topanga were unrealistic. I think this world is unrealistic and their story is what is real.
There are plenty of stories like theirs, just not all make it to the media.
And they had plenty of realistic ups and downs.
They broke up so many times in the series, dated other people, but kept coming back to each other, kept choosing each other. That to me is love, a choice that you make everyday.
Even when they got married, that first year, them being so young, emphasized on how rough it was. Which I loved.
I don't see what was unrealistic about it.
And the changes they went through. At first Cory made fun of her and thought she was weird, then she got popular in high school and he liked her, but she only saw him as a friend.
And then they were friends. And then only after, they had lived a little, grown up individually, and the playing field was evened (aka they were more equal) did they get together for definite.
I think the message is amazing on it's own. It's what realistic SHOULD look like.
I think it is attainable.
But, if they are as young as Cory/Topanga were, they would need time apart to grow into themselves and their Wholeness as individuals.
Boy Meets World definitely focused on friendship and doing the right thing.
And I think Everlasting Love is the MOST important thing in the world. There is nothing more important than Love.
I get what she is saying and agree somewhat.
There is a plan for everyone and if that plan is meet your Person young, then that's what will happen. Whether or not you are ready for that Love at a young age is a different story.
But, there are people who are 40 and still not ready for that type of real love.
Also, everlasting love can be a complement to your other goals and other things in your life that are important, you don't have to choose.
They can coexist. You can make love important and running a business. It doesn't have to be one or the other.
I know it's gonna be a kids show but I'm still gonna watch. I'm so excited about this

To be honest, most of the people who watch girl meets world grew up with boy meets world. I don't really know how I feel about them making a girl meets world, cause it's mostly focused on Riley and Mia, and let's be honest we don't really give a shit about Riley and Mia we're just watching it because of Cory and Topanga but Topanga is barely even in the show. And this show is so corny. I mean, come on Mia is supposed to be the new Shawn?? How can anyone replace SHAWN?! I wish they would've also brought back Eric and Shawn too. They should've gave this show to ABC so it wouldn't be so childish. In boy meets world they would face everyday problems and the acting was also really good. But in girl meets world it's more like first world problems.

That was so well-said! I love my church, but there is so much emphasis on family and marriage, that I started husband-hunting super young! By 18 I was married. I look back and think, "No wonder it didn't work out! We were kids!" No teenager should be worrying about finding and marrying "the one." That will come as you figure out who you are and focus on trying different things. Try ceramics and try learning a language and try a study abroad and try new friendships and try dating different types of guys. The more things you try, the more you figure out what's meant for you.
I love GMW and disney doing an okay job with it but I sort of wish it was abc family only because Disney has more rules and they can't talk about some of the BMW classics. I mean I enjoy watching it every week and it does make me laugh a lot but I agree when people say it would be better off on abc family. They have a funny cast and I love seeing cory and topanga together but some of the jokes are kind of weird. I love BMW more(duh) but I do like GMW!

I feel like this should've been an ABC/Family show because it would appeal to both to the old and new generations. I was 7 when boy meets world ended and 14 when I appreciated it b/c of re-runs. As a 21 year old I couldn't watch Disney. Is too immature for me. So although I love Boy Meets World I don't want Girl Meets World to ruin it.

Disney has a limit of four seasons, however there is a petition going around to move GMW to free form so they can focus on more mature topics as well as have more seasons.
It'd be a damn shame if the show doesn't last...feel like its one of the better shows the station has put out in quite some time.

Of all the teen shows ever made, Cory and Topanga's was one of the most realistic ones. What's so foreign about two childhood friends who fell in love, broke up, got back together, broke up again, got back again and then got married? If you want unrealistic and unrelatable, look no further than 90210 (both versions), One Tree Hill, The O.C, Dawson's Creek.

When she first auditioned she was barley even a teen. Now she just grew up so fast :') she is taller than anyone in her age like zendaya did. that's all. and she and her character will be 13 quick.

I've noticed that on a lot of pictures that she's the same age in, she looks younger and older. I've decided to conclude that it's the way her hair is styled and the clothes that she's wearing that makes her look like she's younger/older/same age. That's what I think at least.
