    One of the great pure athletes to ever play NFL football. Man of Faith. HOF player. Admirer since his Boilermaker days. In my pantheon of all-time NFL greats. May God Bless Rod Woodson and his family.

    I’m a Steeler fan since 1963. The Steelers made few mistakes over the all these years releasing a talent like Rod. But release him they did. It’s one of the few regrets I remember in all these years. Another one is passing on Pitt’s HOF QB Danny Marino in the draft. Great interview Dan and Rod! Love yins guys!!

      I grew up a fan! It was born in me. Saw the Imaculate Reception and was their to watch them grow into what they are today. And I can attest to the fact that they made a hell of a lot more mistakes than that. Perseverance is a virtue seldom rewarded.

      Fan since the mid 1970s & agree wholeheartedly not drafting Marino was a mistake. I believe at the time they were afraid to upset Bradshaw. It hurt losing Rod but so glad that we didn’t re-sign him because he deserved a SB ring & for different fan bases to appreciate him like we did.

    I attended Purdue the year after Rod went pro. He came back and I & several other football players played basketball w/him one Friday evening. He never big-timed anyone or acted arrogantly. He’s one of the most down to earth human beings who just happens to be a HOF all-time great CB. Salute, Mr Woodson!

    Rod is a smart guy, highly athletic - great hurdler, and was a very violent, winning football player.

    I moved to Ft Wayne from Valencia, CA in the summer before the 7 th grade. Ft Wayne definitely was different from the LA area in 1977. Something that I wasn’t used to. I went to Jefferson jr high and Rod went to Blackhawk.,Raced him in the hurdles every year until 10 th grade. I never won. Lol He seemed to stand out more in track in jr high than football. Fastest guy I’ve ever seen!!!😮

    I sort of met him once, not really. He was in a little hunting cabin in MI, some other guy there got pizza and I delivered it, saw Rod in the cabin but I didn't say anything.
    I used to make all time teams in old Madden games, and it was so cool having the Steelers corners as Mel Blount and Rod Woodson, no receiver would have caught anything but hell if that was real.

    My Favorite NFL Player ALL-TIME, My Favorite Steeler ALL-TIME of many Great players..ROD WOODSON Resume is Outstanding, Impressive 💯%.. Ranked#3 ALL-TIME 71 interceptions.. 12 TDs via interceptions Most NFL History.. Defensive Player of The Year 1993... 11 time Pro -Bowls.. On The 75 th Anniversary Team... ROD WOODSON recovered The Most Fumbles in NFL History (32)... Super BowL Champion & A 2009 NFL HALL of FAMER... VERSATILE BALL HAWKING PLAY MAKER‼️ ALSO A PRO- BOWL CALIBER PUNT RETURNER.. ROD WAS A PRO- BOWLER AT PR, Cornerback & Free Safety... 1997 Steelers made a GREAT MISTAKE of Not Honoring a Worthy contract to ROD WOODSON & made Decisions to Draft Maryland University cb Chad Scott & sign Donnell Wolford from Bears to Fill The Big Shoes of ROD WOODSON which was a joke & Disrespectful period‼️Unfortunately ROD WOODSON didn't Retire as a Pittsburgh Steeler but made a Lasting impression, Mark of a GREAT HOF STEELER, NFL PLAYER...🤔🤭😏😎

    Definitely a better all around player at the position than Deion Sanders. He's still one of my favorites. I was upset when, after joining the military, I finally had the money to buy myself his jersey, and he was gone the next year.😢

      @Rob4jmac-kb8qo 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @christiansoldier77 😂Look at the stats (and not just picks). Look at tackles and toughness. Look at what other players of the time say. Sure Deion got a lot of picks. So, did Rod. And Rod got more pick sixes. And Deion ran back alot of kicks. So did Rod. But, Deion didn't like making tackles, and everyone knew it. Rod was a hard hitter, and everybody knew it. Tackling is the most important duty of a DB, and Deion avoided it. He was a prima donna. Rod Woodson was a bad ass!

    After hearing Rod's early life story, you kind of get ticked at the snowflakes today saying that we are a racist horrible country. Does racism still exist, absolutely, but guys like Rod and his parents are the people that truly suffered racism. To think in 2024 it is still like 1965 is ridiculous.
    And hearing Rod's movie theater story made me laugh. I worked as an Usher for 5 years during high school and college at a theater and know his pain when I see people leave trash behind! 😆
    What Rod said about playing all sports is so true. I grew up playing ice hockey, football, baseball and volleyball. I look at kids today that pick one sport and play it 365 days a year and think, how boring.

    He was one of the greatest quarterbacks in safeties during his era. But I must say he was one of the worst defensive back coaches ever especially when he was with the Raiders. The damn team didn't even have one interception the entire season and they gave up more big plays than anybody in the NFL as far as football team to this day!!
