The interesting thing about the song is the time period of its release.
When Rammstein released the "MUTTER" album, church representatives in particular made negative comments about the album cover. The cover depicts an embryo in a preservation fluid. A representative of the Catholic Church said, "Tasteless! How can you put unborn life on display like that?" From the Protestant church came the following statement: "Any undignified representation of the dead is rejected by us.
As a reaction to this, Rammstein reacted shortly afterwards by releasing the "LINKS 2 3 4" single on which the song Halleluja is included as an extra. In my opinion, this is exactly the answer that these hypocrites deserve.

You know it's Rammstein when they deal with topics you feel uncomfortable with. That's just what they do all the time. Destroying your comfort zone, in poetic ways.

Hello from the U.S. Great spot on reaction! They write some "thought" provoking songs .. basically all of their catalog but they are a machine that doesn't shy from any subject...

there is so much dirt sticking to the church and there are many victims of abuse.....it's really bad that something like this exists....I also recommend Rammstein's "Wiener Blut" live in Wacken from 2013 (the video is also available in English texts available) with this topic and the performance by Till, a cold shiver runs down your spine......,

I assume this was not from educatedmarine's channel because the translation was bad. It's not 'He's the true Christian and knows what charity is.' The correct translation is 'He's the true Christian and knows what love thy neighbour means.'

Yea or like he knows what “neighbor-loving” is

Rammstein can never be accused of shying away from provocative themes. This isn't the only song where they call out the church on their less than religious practices and rightly so. Not many bands would feel confident in doing something like this but Rammstein do. As you'll have gathered from other reaction videos you've made, they write about subjects that are uncomfortable, I mean, if you're looking for a cutsie-pie song about sunshine and girls then you're going to be disappointed listening to these guys. The realities of their songs are harsh but they're reality all the same. Great reaction.

if I try to analyse the lyrics: it´s about child abuse in church. There was a big scandal in catholic church that reminds me of the move "Sleepers!"

The thing with "turning the picture around that the lord can't see it" nearly is the history of a special food.
In the fasting season catholic priests were forbidden to eat meat. So, they wrapped some into dough. This food is called "Maultaschen" with the byname "Herrgottsbscheißerle" ("god foolery"). God couldn't see the meat, so it was okay.

1.There is a mistake in the translation. Till sings: "Er leckt die Flecken von der Bibel" meaning he licks (not wipes) the spots from the bible. 2.No, not to far fetched. When he turs the picture of the Lord around, it is so that the Lord cannot see him doing something to one of the boys where the boy is too young for. 3.No, not his neighbour, but the one next to him (which is really sung in german, another translation mistake). And this would be one of the boys from the choir. 4. Not charity. Loving (in a biblically sense) the one next to you. For that reason Till made the back and forth move with his hips!

You know...the church says: love thy neighbour...well...Rammstein talks about really loving thy neighbour.

Hi.Once again this was a great reaction by you. And spot on. Since the background story of this song has been mentioned already in other comments. I'd like to fill a little detail regarding one line of the lyrics, that seemed to have puzzled you:
" Nimmst er den Jungen ins Gebet".
This is a German saying: it means:
admonish someone / rebuke; Speaking to someone's conscience to get them to change their behavior 2. Include someone in prayer; to intercede someone; care about somebody.
It implicates an unpleasant conversation or in this case action.
With love from Germany 🤘 😎

Great reaction and interpretation to this song...the part where it say he is a true christian im glad you picked up on that...whats the word? Sarcasm..irony..? Like yeah right he's a priest a man who is supposedly be able to forgive sins and is considered a holy man and yet how many young men/boys have some of these so called "true Christians" ruined?

Well, because it is the truth, If you don't believe it, read Gabriel Byrne's book (yes the actor) "Walking with Ghosts", which is a memoir. Thanks for the reaction. But most who are here, know it for sure. Thanks for the reaction.

Great interpretation as always! please react to some songs from the album "Liebe ist fur alle da", like Halt, Buckstabu and Roter Sand.

While that ordeal, the priest could say to the boy: "There is a true christian inside of you."
As a joke, I like it. But not, when it comes in fruition, when you know, what I mean.

Literally it's 'he licks the spots off of the bible' in German..

Little late to the party, but some of the lyrics are not translated.... effectively. Not wrong, just not effective. When Till said, "So muss er seinen naechsten lieben", it's from the bible phrase "love thy neighbor", but it's twisted a bit. It's not "he must love his neighbor", it's "he must love his closest one", which ofc refers to the choir boy/s. And when Till says, "Er ist der wahre Christ, und weiss was naechstenliebe ist", it replaces "naechstenliebe" with charity. Naechstenliebe is, in a way, charity, but it's closer to the whole "loving thy neighbor" thing. In German, "love thy neighbor" is more of a "love those closest to you" as in proximity, so kind of the same thing. So when he says, "Und weiss was naechstenliebe ist", he implies that the Christian perverts the idea of "love thy neighbor" to his own use. And ofc, by adding the whole "He is the true Christian" before, it implies that that is how Christians truly are.
    Hope that made sense xD

Stereotype ? My sister and I got lucky and escaped a priest when we were in elementary. My mom thankfully noticed and took us out of the school. Sooooo…. No stereotype. Just an ugly common part of reality.
