The bull is not trying to do anything to harm that calf at all. Its simply him doing his job has the herd sire. He's telling the calf " hey young one get up, get strong and get it fast cause there are things out here trying to kill us." Anyone who says he was trying to do harm. Hasn't been around cattle as much as they may think. Or they've spent to much time pushing the herd and not enough watching and listening to them. Keep doing what your doing 👏

Greg Judy keeps his South Polls in till it’s time to castrate and separate the bulls till next breed season

Bulls are not segregated in the wild and the herd survives just fine.

Agree. We have cows (dexter and corriente), goats, chickens etc. The only animals we have have to separate from each other are the buck goat from the pigs because our buck is ornery. So we have the dexter bull, all calves and the buck goat together after weaning calves. Otherwise our animals all live happily together.

How do the goats do with the cows?

@@dexterranch all the does, cows, kids and calves do really well together. Our bull and buck try to push each other around occasionally but I believe it’s just playfulness because when they are separated they “talk” through the fence lol

My goats are in with my cow and we have no issues they play together, my buck loves to head but my bull and boss cow they push each other around playing daily it never been a issue there good together except the goat are naughty like goats are they get into everything.

The more I learn, the more I find people have rules because somebody made a rule.

Agreed. With the same caveat. The Bull is not isolated with just other bulls or steers for the majority of the year…..
